Descripción

Le Parfum Royal by Elie Saab is a chypre floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2019, this olfactive composition was created by Maïa Lernout. The top note presents the freshness of mandarin; the heart reveals the elegance of Turkish rose, Bulgarian rose, and neroli; while the base settles on patchouli, amber, vanilla, and sandal.

  • Tested in store this afternoon. The blend of rose, orange, and patchouli usually suits me quite well; I have several with that combination, but in this one, I perceived from the very first moment something synthetic and artificial that I struggled to pinpoint. On the way home, I smelled the sample over and over… yes but no; that the whole time. Until I realised the culprit was the orange note: as if they had tried to recreate not the whole fruit, but its juice. And not of freshly squeezed, but of those canned, sugary, or concentrate-based juices! TetraBrik juice! That’s exactly what it smells like! I couldn’t wear this. That canned juice note ruined the perfume for me. It’s a pity because I suspect it has a great trail; of all the decants I had in my bag, this stood out. Edit: on skin, it loses that artificial nuance… and I like it!

  • Tested in-store today. I usually love that blend of rose, orange, and patchouli, but here I noticed something synthetic from the very first moment. Smelling the sample on my way home, I realised: the fault lay with the orange note. It didn’t smell like whole fruit, but rather sugared bottled juice, like a TetraBrik. That is exactly what it smells like. I wouldn’t wear it; that touch has ruined the perfume for me. It’s a shame because I suspect it has a powerful trail; it stood out among all the dry ones I was wearing. Edit: on skin, it loses that artificial nuance… and I love it!

  • If you know Armaf’s Club de Nuit Intense, well, it has that style, but soft as a Club de Nuit for a baby. And it doesn’t last. It’s not ugly, but I don’t recommend it and won’t buy it again.

  • I don’t know why, but on my skin, when it dries, it smells very much like Kenzo World. Broadly speaking, it’s citrusy, sweet, and pleasant. Very good trail and longevity.

  • My first encounter was via a tester sent to me. I went crazy with the scent and couldn’t stop smelling it. I searched for months to buy it as it is discontinued. When I thought I wouldn’t get it at a good price, I did; I bought it blind without a doubt. But upon spraying it on my skin, the disappointment was total. The patchouli took all the protagonism without letting the rest be felt. I couldn’t bear it. I tried to like it, but with my skin there was no match. I let it go. Its longevity and trail are excellent; it wouldn’t leave with anything.

My first encounter was with a decant sent to me to get to know it. I was absolutely captivated by the scent; I couldn’t stop smelling it. I searched for months to buy it as it was discontinued. When I thought I wouldn’t get it at a good price, I found it! I bought it without hesitation, blind. But upon spraying it on my skin, the disappointment was total: the patchouli took all the protagonism without letting the rest be felt. I couldn’t bear it. I tried to like it, but there was no match with my skin. I let it go. Its longevity and trail are excellent; it didn’t fade at all.

  • A richness of intense roses contrasted with the finest patchouli. Perfumes that concentrate their beauty in the portrait of the rose alongside the herbal aroma of patchouli form a school; the floral-earthly school of roses and roots that is addictive. Magnetic perfumes that you smell on your wrist many times over for such attractive richness. Elie Saab perfumes are always sophisticated yet easy, without losing their detailed, filigree-like quality. Huge bouquets of fresh red roses alongside the joy of neroli and orange. A rich aura of beauty with the Elie Saab seal.

  • Richness of intense roses with a very fine patchouli. These perfumes, which centre their beauty on the rose alongside the herbal aroma of patchouli, form a floral-earthy school of flowers and roots that is addictive. They are magnetic perfumes that you find yourself smelling on your wrist many times because of such an attractive richness. The Elie Saab ones are always sophisticated and easy, without losing their detail like filigree. Enormous bouquets of fresh red roses with the joy of neroli and orange. A aura of extremely rich beauty with the Elie Saab signature.

A magnificent creation, just like everything from Elie Saab! Sophisticated, potent, and long-lasting. On my skin, I feel the mandarin accompanies the entire life of the perfume, along with that sandalwood and that patchouli… a delight worthy of repetition in the collection!

  • A marvel! I’ll just say that this smells like a high-class, powerful, elegant, sophisticated, sexy, and majestic woman. There’s nothing like it; that blend of fine Turkish rose and m fariña is unparalleled, a delight that lasts a long time: over 8 hours on skin and over 20 on clothes.

  • I love it! A citrusy outing for my skin, not exaggerated, that turns sweet as it dries. Delicate rose and amber. That is what I feel. It envelops me all day. Moderate projection and skin trail all day. I wish it projected more, but it makes me fall in love!

  • I absolutely love it! A citrus opening for my fair skin, not exaggerated, which turns sweet as it dries. Delicate rose and amber. It’s exactly what I feel. It envelops me all day. Moderate projection and a skin trail all the time. Wish it projected more, but it’s utterly enchanting!

  • A good-value fragrance with solid performance and not overhyped. I don’t understand why this isn’t talked about more. It is the Schrödinger’s cat: it opens with a splash halfway between fruity and citrusy, giving way to a ‘rose-not-rose’. The rose is there, you perceive it, and when it starts to overwhelm, it disappears to return later and restart the cycle. If you don’t like this note, try it anyway; it didn’t enthuse me either, and here it surprised me. Two types of rose appear, which could seem intrusive, but nothing of the sort; it is very fine and ‘royal’, powerful, stately, and mature. I sense vintage reminiscences, potent, sweet without being cloying, and with an imprint. The oakmoss doesn’t appear, strangely; it must be the background patchouli that maintains the tension. Careful, it is an elegant, fine, and balanced patchouli. I have loved it; it elevates anything you wear and adds stature. Don’t say it resembles the final result, but allowing for differences, the rose reminds me of Dior Gris.

  • Today it’s at a brilliant price, lasts incredibly long, and isn’t overpowering. Why isn’t this little treasure talked about more? It’s the perfume equivalent of Schrödinger’s cat: it starts with a fruity-citrus splash, then unleashes a ‘not-quite-a-rose’. The rose is there, the notes are there, and when it gets overwhelming, it disappears only to return later and restart the cycle. If you don’t like it, give it a try anyway; it deserves a chance. I wasn’t thrilled with it at first, but it surprised me here. The description lists two roses, which might seem intrusive, but there’s none of that; it’s refined, ‘real’, powerful, stately, and mature. It feels vintage, with a savoir-faire worth its weight in gold: potent, sweet without being cloying, and full of character. I don’t detect the oakmoss, which is odd; I’m sure it’s the patchouli in the base that maintains the tension until the end. Note that it’s an elegant, fine, and balanced patchouli. I’ve loved it; it elevates any outfit and adds a certain stature. Don’t say it’s similar at the end, but the rose reminds me of Dior’s Gris.
