I tried it today and found it pleasant, nothing extraordinary, but it smells lovely: citrus, herbal, sea breeze. Ideal for summer.
They gifted it to me (knowing I’m a Miyake fan) and to my nose it smells very similar to the original, with a very marked ‘green’ note that differentiates it. I prefer the classic version, but it’s not bad at all.
To me, this is the best version of L’Eau d’Issey for men so far, with distinctive traits that set it apart from the others.
Captures the soul of the original Issey but with more sweetness, freshness and spice. The ginger is beautifully placed, with a powerful opening and good longevity of 6 to 8 hours. It’s no longer available, so if you can get it for between $70 and $100, don’t miss out as it’s a discontinued classic. The bottle is gorgeous; I just wished for a clear cap to match the gradient blue base.
