  It begins with an intense, sweet raspberry, with roses that linger beyond the skin, soaking into everything you touch. At the base, that classic touch from the line that makes you recognise L’eau d’Issey. It lasts longer on me than other potent perfumes like Gabrielle by Chanel or Joy by Dior; it’s not so formal, and you can distinguish the notes without feeling that all-over cocktail.

  It’s a classic that doesn’t suit me at all; after that fruity opening where the rose softens, on my skin it becomes too intense and I find it repulsive. The trail is brutal for the first hour and then becomes intimate, lasting 4-5 hours on me. It might work for rose lovers, but it’s not for me. Scent 4/10, longevity 10/10, sillage 10/10, value for money 6/10, versatility 7/10, and packaging 6/10. Would I buy it again? Not in a million years, I haven’t even bought it.

  One of the few Issey scents I’ve tried that smell so natural, like a flower in its natural state. It’s hard to find rose notes in perfumes that don’t sound powdery, when I’m looking for fresh, damp, natural rose. That’s why I wanted to try it straight away, just because of the name and the rose notes. Great disappointment… it doesn’t smell like fresh, natural rose; instead, I detect a super unpleasant earthy smell. It’s not a fresh and pleasant earth note, but a bitter, graceless earthy note. I don’t know whether it’s the osmanthus, the cashmere wood or the blend with patchouli, but in truth, I find the scent disgusting and the rose fades into the background. Great sadness.

  It’s a classic and unoriginal scent that isn’t my style. After the fruity opening, where the rose becomes sweeter, on my skin that note becomes very intense and I don’t like it. Powerful trail for the first hour and intimate afterwards. Lasts about 4-5 hours on me. It could be a good option for rose lovers, but it’s not for me. Scent 4/10, longevity 10/10, sillage 10/10, value for money 6/10, versatility 7/10, packaging 6/10. Would I buy it again? I didn’t buy it.

  One of the few Issey scents I’ve tried that smell so natural, like a flower in its natural state. So when I heard about this fragrance, I wanted to try it immediately, just because of the name and the rose notes. Great disappointment… it doesn’t smell like fresh, natural rose; instead, I detect a super unpleasant earthy aroma. It’s not a fresh, pleasant earth note, but a bitter, unappealing earthy note that I find utterly unappealing. I don’t know whether it’s the osmanthus, the cashmere wood, or the blend with patchouli, but in truth, the scent disgusts me, and the rose fades into the background in my opinion. Great sadness.

  Every perfume has its moment, just like clothing items. That happens with this perfume for me; it activates me, puts me in a good mood, and awakens my senses. I like it a lot, it cheers me up, and despite being informal, I have received many compliments, especially from my boyfriend. It has excellent sillage and is one of the fragrances that lasts the longest for me: an average of 7 hours. I recommend it for very active and cheerful women.

  I found it very simple; I prefer the original. It is delicious but simple; you could find this scent in a fragrance for girls or in catalogue shops. It’s a good-quality raspberry, not too synthetic, a raspberry slap that eats up everything else, again like other Miyakes, a very natural scent. The raspberry smells good, but it has no personality, in that regard it fell behind if it’s striking.

  The original L’Eau d’Issey set the bar very high with a transparent, aquatic, neat, and sensual scent. It was and remains a special fragrance with much identity, recognisable and precious. That is why all these flankers that want to be born from its seed frustrate and disappoint me; there are too many. They lack the minimalist strength of the original nor do they handle synthetic notes with such skill. I love this perfume as an idea, but its execution feels plasticky and synthetic in the wrong way; if the liquid were contained in a bottle other than Miyake’s iconic cone, it would fit. Houses that have created works of art should avoid the disrepute of releasing flanker after flanker that adds nothing and nourishes nothing, only overwhelms. From Miyake, I expected a much more special rose… It’s not bad, it smells rich, but it doesn’t have the quality I expect from Miyake.

  Is anyone going to talk about the resemblance between Rose & Rose and Versace’s Red Jeans? What a disappointment! The pear isn’t there, the raspberry less so, only the rose scent is felt. It doesn’t last even 2 hours. I bought it blind and I am so regretful.

  I loved it! I was given a sample and when I tried it on my skin, it is wonderfully rich, fine, and lasts a long time. I think it’s a mistake to compare it with the classic L’Eau d’Issey; they are two completely different things. And if they were similar, they would be saying it’s a copy or criticising that they don’t differentiate. How strange!

  It’s quite a lady-like scent; in fact, it reminds me of a cream my grandmother used. It’s fine and elegant, without much sillage or longevity, although it is pleasant. To me, it seems like simple sweet roses with a fruity touch. When I sprayed it, it reminded me of Natura’s Luna Rubí; they share several notes and are quite similar, although the Rubí is much spicier and less sweet. I don’t know if I would buy it if I could choose among several, but having it is pleasant, nothing particularly out of the ordinary.

  I tried a decanter sent by a perfumerie and I’m going to buy it. It seemed fresh, feminine and floral. It’s very subtle, barely leaving a trail on my skin and doesn’t last long; but it’s a lovely floral respite. I’m sure it would be more noticeable in spring or summer, as the notes are delicate and refreshing. It radiates feminine energy, class and refinement.

  I tried a decanter that was sent to me. I will buy it; it seemed fresh, feminine, and floral. It’s very subtle, has almost no sillage on my skin, and low persistence, but it is truly a beautiful floral breath. It’s sure to express itself better in spring or summer because the notes are delicate and refreshing. It radiates feminine energy, class, and refinement.

  The first time I smelled it, I loved it because it felt quite fruity, but now I find it like a rose talc. My daughter told me that everything in her grandmother’s house smelled like that perfume. It smells delicious but reminds me of my mum, who is 73 years old.

  I feel it has the DNA of L’Eau d’Issey but much softened; it’s a more modern flanker where the raspberry (with the pear) and the roses are the stars. It sounds like a ‘mum’s perfume’—a sweet, fresh floral for everyday wear, very feminine and spring-like. On me, it has moderate to low sillage and lasts 7/8 hours close to the skin, which is good performance. I like it, although there are many similar ones, I would definitely choose this flanker over the EDT, but it’s not something that would have a place in my collection.

On my skin it smells almost like a rose soap: clean, soft and fairly linear. I don’t notice much evolution; it’s a simple, direct fragrance centred on that rose-soapy accord. Ideal if you’re looking for a sweet, easy-to-wear rose with a clean, almost cosmetic side.
