The scent begins with a citrusy sparkle, moves through a floral, spiced heart and finishes on a woody, balsamic base.
The opening pairs Sicilian lemon with Calabrian bergamot, while pink pepper adds a subtle, contemporary edge. This introduction is sharp, fresh and immediately engaging.
In the middle, frangipani (also known as plumeria) is joined by calendula and cinnamon. The heart feels opulent, with a soft tropical warmth and an aromatic spiciness that keeps it interesting.
The foundation is built on Amberwood and benzoin. Amberwood gives the composition a woody depth, while benzoin lends a creamy balsamic quality. The final impression is smooth, persistent and comforting.

Perhaps my nose is playing up, but it smells of classic Light Blue until the dry down and a little beyond, where it changes 0.1% of its DNA. Nothing out of the ordinary. If you’ve got Light Blue, buying this is a waste of money.
I’ve never owned the Light Blue from the other flankers, but this one won me over with its sweet citrus note without being sickly. It smells clean, like just out of the shower. Freshness. The lemon note is gentle and has an amber touch that’s a treat. Shame it lasts barely 3 hours on my skin. It hardly projects at all. I sense its clean presence like a sigh. I reckon Moschino’s I Love Love projects and lasts longer on me, though it lacks the sweet amber. The value for money hasn’t been beaten.
I’m not a fan of the original line, as it’s too citrussy and too sharp for me, and it performs rather poorly on my skin. However, I received a sample of this perfume at home, and it surprised me no end. It’s still a citrus scent but with a very, very amber and addictive dry down. I see it as fairly unisex and ideal for those late afternoon-evening outings this summer. What’s more, it performs very well on me, lasting 6-8 hours with moderate projection and sillage. All in all, it was high time I tried a Light Blue that actually worked for me. I’m even seriously considering adding it to my collection.
I’ve never been a fan of the original Light Blue, I’ve always gone for the flankers, but this EDP version has charmed me. It’s less citrussy and a touch sweeter, keeping the DNA of the EDT version, but for me this is the better version because it’s less citrussy. Some might prefer the original – it’s a matter of taste – but I’m sticking with this one.
It doesn’t have the shine and luminosity of the EDT. I like it, but I’m not sure it surpasses its predecessor. Longevity and projection are similar. It’s the same DNA, but a bit less fresh and more… sweet?

I think the Love Love by Moschino lasts and projects more, although it lacks that sweet amber. The value for money was not surpassed.
