  I find it hard to rate a fragrance when I acknowledge its quality, yet subjectively it just doesn’t quite appeal to me. It’s difficult to separate reason from heart. Objectively, it smells like a balsamic and amber blend (incense, myrrh), very smoky with plenty of tobacco and patchouli. The tobacco is bitter, more akin to Behique by Renier than Tobacco Vanille. It features spices and flowers that give it character, setting it apart from Hyde by Hiram Green or Chetyre by Prin Parfums. It is intense, dense, and dark; not for everyone and certainly not for daily wear. I recognise the excellent craftsmanship, performance, and ingredient quality, but my subjective side simply isn’t comfortable with it. It’s not that I dislike it; it just doesn’t make me enjoy wearing it. I recommend it to those who enjoy smoky, intense scents, dark woody, and balsamic perfumes. Ideal for evening wear and highly recommended for autumn and winter. Scent: 8, Longevity: 10, Sillage: 8, Versatility: 7, Originality: 10, Overall: 8.5

  Smells like a lit candle. The scent is nice, but don’t buy it blindly.
