It’s a rich fragrance, not quite a masterpiece, but certainly good. I feel it’s been underestimated and can deliver more than people have said.

  2. jpablomm

It’s a characterful fragrance; it’s not magic, but it delivers. I think they overlooked it and it has so much more to offer than the hype suggests.

  3. Once it dries down, it smells like Dior Homme Parfum, but the Zara quality is evident: it’s more aggressive and direct.

I bought it on sale and upon trying it: a rich, citrusy and spicy opening, then it turns into suede, reminiscent of CK’s DEFY due to that note. I don’t know about longevity or sillage, but for the brand, it lasts around 5-6 hours with medium-low projection. I love the scent. For $14, it’s a steal.

Of the three in the collection, this is the one that won me over. They say it lacks leather compared to the other two, but it does have it, just softer, giving it a sweet touch like Coca-Cola. In reality, it’s sexier, playful, and charming leather. It’s definitely the most versatile. A great fragrance; purists might find it boring, but as another comment says, they don’t do it justice. Totally worth it. I’ll return in a few months to add: it reminds me a lot of the regular F by Ferragamo, not the Black.

Of the three, I chose this one. They say there’s no leather like in the others, but it’s there, just more subdued, giving it a sweet touch like Coca-Cola; however, in reality, it’s sexier, playful leather with grace. Of the three, this is the most versatile. A great fragrance; perhaps it will bore purists, but I think they aren’t doing it justice. Totally worth it. I’ll be back in two months to update. It reminds me a lot of the normal F by Ferragamo, not the black one.

The box says: bergamot, bitter orange, black pepper, olibanum, guaiac, cashmere, vetiver, ambroxan, patchouli, cistus, vanilla and leather. The standout notes are the ones I perceive most: incense and a soft accord, with a slightly sweet dry down. Ideal for incense lovers, it has an olfactive journey (it’s not as mass-appealing as the other two). The WO/02 has a woody, intense incense, so this Freestyle is lighter and more versatile. EDP performance, lasting up to 8 hours, with short projection. Again, Zara is exploring niche territory, less commercial and more purposeful, with that duality to reach a wider audience. Try it before buying, even if it’s on sale. Of the three LHTs, this is the most novel in those Tom Ford-inspired vibes (the 01 and 03).

I created an account on FragranceX just to review this and give it the justice it deserves. I tested Still Leather (similar to Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather) and Know the Leather (similar to Ombre Leather) before going for this. It was love at first sight: a delightful masculine but fun fragrance, vibrating like Invictus and One Million. What I liked most was that Coca-Cola-like aroma. Of the three leather scents from Zara, this is the most special. Ideal for the office: it doesn’t bother anyone and earns compliments. Note, it’s the least leather of the three, hence the name ‘Freestyle’ (taking liberties with leather for a unique scent). The best part is that it doesn’t seem to resemble anything on the market. I’ll keep updating. Note: although I loved it, it didn’t last long on my skin; others said it did. I sold it for almost the same price I paid.

  9. It smells like cashmere thrown into an incense shop, hahaha. It’s cashmere leather with patchouli; I think those who meditate or seek a relaxing scent (if you like those places) will enjoy it.

  10. Of the three in this saga, it’s the most interesting, but I ended up in ‘want but can’t have’ territory. It opens interestingly with citrus and that tone between skin and suede. Then it accompanies with a touch of pepper, but it sticks to the skin without projecting. I’d love to know what concentration Zara calls ‘Eau de Parfum’; clearly, it isn’t. Edit: from the start, it reminded me of a known fragrance. This LHT/02 when dried down is 90% identical to My Soul Soirée for him from Mercadona, but the Mercadona one, besides costing less, has notably better longevity and performance.

  11. Of the three in the range, this is the most intriguing, though I found myself stuck in that ‘I want but can’t’ dilemma. An interesting blend of citrus and that skin-to-suede nuance, followed by a hint of pepper, yet it clings to the skin without projecting. I’d love to know what concentration Zara calls ‘Eau de parfum’; this certainly isn’t one. Edit: from the outset, it reminded me of a known fragrance. This LTH/02, once dried, is 90% identical to My Soul Soirée for Him from Mercadona, except the Mercadona version, besides costing less, offers notably better longevity and performance.
