  Michael Kors Midnight Shimmer opened the world of vanilla scents to me. I was searching for that vanilla note said to bring happiness, and after several failures, I found this MK flanker. The opening is vanilla sweetened with quince; there’s a hint of alcohol at first, but it fades within minutes. After 15 minutes, it smells of semi-sweet, creamy, baked vanilla, almost smoky but not burnt. In short, it smells like baked vanilla cupcakes. By the end of the day, the vanilla softens slightly and the woods emerge, all mixed with a musk that gives it cleanliness. It’s not childish vanilla; it’s more mature, comforting, and mood-lifting. I recommend it to women who don’t want heavy perfumes but something sweet without being cloying. Ideal for autumn, spring, and summer evenings. On my skin, it lasts over 10 hours with a moderate trail of two to three hours. Update: my sense of smell is more mature now, and although I still enjoy it, I feel it’s ideal for younger girls. It’s a super fruity vanilla, nothing formal, perfect for going out for a drink.

  My absolute favourite, what a shame it was limited edition. It lasts forever on skin and clothes, and its vanilla and coconut cookie scent is the best thing out there.

  I have no words, I adore it. It’s so warm it feels like a hug, warming you up on chilly nights, truly a wonder. The longevity is a bit short, but since I’m someone who needs to feel the perfume all day, I find myself reapplying it constantly. To me, it’s 90% identical to Zara’s Rich Warm Addictive, except Zara’s notes the rum much more strongly. What a pity it was limited edition; every time I see it, I buy three bottles (though I hate the bottle, it has too much glitter, haha). I’d recommend it only to vanilla and sweet lovers.

  What a gem of a fragrance, such a shame they’ve discontinued it. It’s super vanilla and amber-heavy, reminiscent of Kayali’s Vanilla 28 but with more character: this one is more amber, oriental, and balsamic, whereas Kayali’s is sweeter with a touch of brown sugar. A warm, feminine scent that takes your breath away, with excellent longevity of 7-8 hours and moderate projection.
