Hello! It’s a lovely, simple fragrance. When first applied, the pineapple note is clear and not overpowering, but after a few minutes it fades and almost disappears. It’s sweet, yet not cloying. As it dries down, you can appreciate its nuances; it’s not linear, which I like. The issue is that it lasts less than two hours on my skin, and I have to be very close to smell it; the projection and sillage are virtually non-existent. I bought it in July and gave it time, as I wanted to try Coreterno and this one caught my eye with its notes. The scent is exquisite, but what a pity the longevity is so short for a niche fragrance at this price. I hope this helps. Every skin is different; perhaps it lasts longer on yours, but the best advice is to try a sample first.

When I first bought it, I thought it smelled of cocoa and compared it to Black Phantom, but after wearing it several times, I see it’s more fruity. The pineapple is the star, while the tonka bean and cocoa recede into the background, giving it a woody touch. It’s very sweet but not intrusive, with moderate longevity. It’s a perfect blind buy.

Mystic Sugar was a successful blind buy. What a crisp, warm, and spicy fusion! It’s exquisite with the cocoa and tonka, while the ginger adds a touch of cheerfulness and hospitality. The pineapple shines at the start with a sparkling note, though it’s fleeting; afterwards, it becomes dense and mature with the amber. There are hints of burnt sugar without stealing the show. It’s ideal for lovers of sweet, cosy scents. It’s exactly what I expected from Maison Mataha after being disappointed by their Escapade Gourmande. Perfect for autumn, winter, and early spring. It’s 100% unisex. The sillage is moderate to wide and it lasts about six hours. It has slight echoes of Initio’s Absolute Aphrodisiac but isn’t the same; if you own one, the other pairs well with it. It doesn’t resemble Black Phantom (which on me is very masculine with coffee and chocolate), but rather recalls Frapin’s 1270 with better longevity and a darker vanilla. Great value from Coreterno, I love it! It’s now one of my favourites in the amber-vanilla category.
