Objet Céleste by Volnay is a floral chypre fragrance for women. Launched in 2013, this composition was created by perfumer Amelie Bourgeois. The olfactory pyramid opens with top notes of lavender, bergamot and grapefruit; the heart reveals a harmony of peony and jasmine; while the base awakens with powdery notes, almond, vanilla, Siam benzoin, musk, woody notes, cloves, patchouli and rose.

Ordered the Volnay set after watching a YouTube video, and what a surprise—it’s the one I like least from the brand. It’s not a bad perfume; the quality is there with that classic, powdery touch typical of their six fragrances, but simply doesn’t suit me. It smells drier and less sweet than the others; bitter almond notes dominate, wrapped in very subtle floral, spicy, and balsamic accords. In the end, I find it fresh, if by fresh you mean slightly wild, haha, soft and ideal for everyday wear, more comparable to some floral colognes. The pineapple note is lovely, but its sweetness is overshadowed by the almond. I see it as unisex and a good daily option. Scent: 7.5, Longevity: 7, Projection: 6, Value for money: 5, Versatility: 9, Originality: 6, Overall: 7.5
