  • MARVELLOUS!!! An impressive piece of work by Zara, unbeatable price/quality. It’s a delight, the classic oud-rose combo taken to absolute elegance. The roses are noticeable to a fault, and the oud is soft and pleasant, with a slight acidic note that makes it addictive. Very elegant and classy, it could easily pass for niche. Would I buy it again? YES, YES, and YES. For me, it’s an almost guaranteed blind buy, although for the untrained nose, it might be better to try it first. Longevity on my skin is over 12 hours, projecting well for about 6 hours, and then perceptible close to the skin for hours.

I tried it for the first time today and I must say it smells very much of roses with oud (these are the notes that dominate for me) and it has felt quite talcum-powdered to me. Basically, my mother loves talcum-powdered perfumes, and when she smelled it, she said it smelled deliciously like sweet talcum powder. Indeed, it reminds me quite a bit of Flower by Kenzo. As for me, it’s not a scent that fascinates me; I’m not much of a ‘roses all the time’ person, but I acknowledge that its longevity and projection are good in terms of value for money. Those who love this type of aroma will love it as much as my mother does. I’d recommend it for any weather; it seems versatile for both heat and cold and performs very well. It’s fairly linear, so don’t fear that you won’t like its dry-down, as it smells the same all the time (which doesn’t bother me if I’m fascinated by a perfume). I acknowledge that Zara has done a great job creating such wonderful perfumes for all tastes at such a good price. Of the three I’ve tried from this line (I still haven’t tried Endless Oud), my favourite remains Bohemian Oud for its scent.

  • A very elegant rose-oud combo, it looks like a much more expensive fragrance and dresses you up. I admit I didn’t like the opening, but once the perfume settles, it changes completely. Don’t stick with the first impression. Good longevity and moderate sillage.

  • Tested. Rich, sweet vanilla-rose, like Rose Gourmand. If you already have it, you don’t need this one. If not, I recommend it; it’s a scent you must have for cold occasions, it comforts, embraces you, and projects very well. Another great fragrance from Zara.

  • Tried! It’s rich, a sweet vanillaised rose, in the style of Rose Gourmand. If you already have it, you don’t need another, but if you don’t, I recommend it: it’s a scent you must have for the cold; it comforts, embraces you and projects very well. Another great fragrance from Zara.

  • It’s the most talcum-powdered perfume I’ve ever smelled 😦. The intensity of the roses reminds me a lot of Mancera’s Roses Vanille but super talcum-powdered and less sweet. It smells like my grandmother to me 🙁

I have to keep testing it, but I’m still delighted with the Essential Oud by Natura. On my skin, it doesn’t last nearly long enough. I’m undecided and will let you know if I keep it or sell it. Another little-known sweet oud with roses is the 5th Avenue Royale by Elizabeth Arden; it also doesn’t last long, about 4 or 5 hours, but it’s beautiful and lovely. One of my favourites.

Oud perfume for the lovely girl, perfect for those starting out with oud scents. I bought it blind as Chapter 4 isn’t available in physical stores, and based on the notes, this was the one that caught my eye. Good luck! It has been wonderful and has won me over; especially because it’s so wearable, with a modern, youthful and cheerful vibe, more informal than other oud perfumes. It’s so versatile I see it for everyday wear, even for work. It’s intense but not overpowering, very refined, delicate and supremely feminine with a gourmand touch in just the right measure. It’s fairly linear despite having many notes, but I think that’s fine; it’s something I like about this particular perfume. It features the roses from Rose Gourmand extremely delicately but less sweet, accompanied by a clean, woody and soft oud, with leather present but not dominant, there to give body and depth and a tremendous style boost. It’s warm, woody and ambered, truly beautiful. Longevity is more than acceptable, lasting over six hours with a noticeable trail, though I insist it’s not overpowering; you’ll surely receive compliments and the price is excellent; if they told me it was from a designer brand costing five times more, I’d believe it given the extremely high quality. In fact, I tried Universal Oud from the Jo Malone line several times, which is available in stores, and it’s not as versatile, feminine and captivating as this, nor does it last as long on skin. That said, it reminded me a lot of Les Absolus d’Orient Oud Essentiel by Guerlain, which is drier and more unisex than Perpetual Oud and less seductive; I liked it too but it didn’t make me fall in love; I prefer to keep coming back to Perpetual Oud. Edit: It lasts six hours in bubble mode, softening gradually and reaching up to ten hours on skin; it’s a bomb. If I apply it in the morning for evening wear, it lingers in the whole room and on the bedding; it’s impressive.

A ‘pretty girl’ oud, to put it in the best possible way. It’s perfect for beginners to oud fragrances. I bought it blind because the Chapter 4 scents aren’t available in physical stores, and this was the one that caught my eye; lucky me! It has been a wonder that has won me over. It’s very wearable, modern, youthful, and informal, versatile for everyday wear or work. It’s intense but not invasive, refined, delicate, and feminine with just the right gourmand touch. It’s fairly linear but I like it. It carries delicate, less sweet roses from Rose Gourmand, accompanied by a clean, woody, soft oud and a present leather note to give it body. It’s warm, woody, and ambered, simply beautiful. It lasts over six hours with a noticeable sillage but without being overwhelming; you’ll surely receive compliments, and the price is excellent. If they told me it was from a designer brand costing five times more, I’d believe them. I tested it several times against Jo Malone’s Universal Oud, which isn’t as versatile, feminine, or long-lasting, and it reminded me of Guerlain’s Les Absolus d’Orient Oud Essentiel, which is drier and less seductive. I prefer to repeat with this one. Edit: It lasts six hours in a bubble, softens, and reaches ten hours on the skin. It’s a bomb; if I apply it in the morning, it smells the whole room and the bed linen.

  • A very wearable rose and oud combo, suitable for everyone. Nothing strident, dirty, or animalic; ideal for those new to oriental scents. The longevity is more than good for the price you pay.

I had it on my wishlist, but after trying it today, I don’t think it’s worth it. I already own Sheikh Al Shuyukh, which has a very similar opening but is more potent than the Zara version and evolves into a caramel note that this lacks. Perpetual Oud is an ultra-light version of all these imitations of Lancôme’s Oud Bouquet. There are better options, but if you don’t have these scents on your skin, the Zara one is a good starting point because it’s so soft.

  • danapetalorojo

It smells like that bouquet of dried roses with a touch of oud on my skin. Very rich, very natural, lots of personality.

  • I went to Zara looking for another perfume and was pleasantly surprised by Perpetual Oud; to my taste it’s the freshest oud aroma in this collection, although it’s potent, to my taste it’s not irritating or overwhelming. Delicate rose notes with oud and amber predominate. I sprayed it on my wrist and noticed a very slow dry-down, leaving a sort of oil on the skin that takes time to absorb; I could still smell the very soft scent after eight hours. I think it’s a wearable but night-time fragrance, for autumn. I loved it and took it home instead of what I was looking for that day.

  • I went to Zara to try something new and PERPETUAL OUD caught me off guard; it’s the freshest in their collection with oud, powerful yet not overwhelming. Smells of delicate roses with amber. It dries slowly, like an oil taking time to settle, and after eight hours it’s very soft. I see it as good for evening wear in autumn. I loved it and took it home, exactly what I was looking for that day 🙂

  • I’ve really loved it; I think it has the potential to become my signature scent. It’s a perfume that can be worn daily. It feels like a sweet oud with roses, I loved it for the day and even for work, excellent value for money.

  • I really loved it; I think it has the look of becoming my everyday perfume. It can be worn every day. Smells of sweet oud with roses, perfect for daytime and even work, with impeccable quality/price.

  • karugervazoni

I went along with the good reviews and failed; I bought blindly and didn’t like it. On my skin it smells very masculine and strong. It has an air of Rose Gourmand (which I adore) but it’s more powdery and dusty. It’s my first oud and I also sensed a spicy note. It has good longevity, but I wouldn’t recommend buying blindly.

  • karugervazoni

I went along with the good reviews and fell for it, only to be unlucky with the blind buy. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to my liking. On my skin it feels very masculine. It’s strong. It has an air of Rose Gourmand (which I love) but it’s more powdery and dusty. It’s the first perfume with oud I’ve tried and I must say I also sensed it as spiced. I note that it has good longevity but I wouldn’t recommend it for blind buys.

  • marinalazo92

I absolutely love this fragrance. I bought it blind for my birthday and it was spot on. Although I’ll probably use it more in cooler weather as it’s quite heavy. I detect lots of rose, oud and leather… it’s sweet and similar to Rose Gourmand when dry, but with that woody touch I adore. It has excellent longevity and sillage. When I wear it, I keep smelling my wrist because I’m fascinated by its scent and performance over the hours. I’m very happy with this Zara line; I own Red Temptation, Golden Decade, Rose Gourmand and Perpetual Oud, none of which disappoint and they stand up to any designer fragrance.

  • Roses and oud for everyone. Powerful and projecting. It reminds me a lot of Guerlain’s Santal Royal, which is my treasure, and it has nothing to envy in terms of performance. Spectacular quality for the price. If you like the roses/oud combo, give it a try. Highly recommended.

  • Josi Schatz

I’m not an expert on perfumes and have never smelled oud on its own to know if it’s noticeable here. But the roses mixed with patchouli and leather do come through; they’re a delight. Plus, it has excellent trail and projection, especially for the price. I simply love it.

  • Maria_Osella

Excellent fragrance. They say it’s a dupe of Tom Ford’s Rose Prick, is it? Anyone know? I declare myself a fan of the Zara CHAPTER line: Rose Gourmand, Red Temptation, Amber Fusion, Golden Decade, Sublime Époque, and this one. They last over 10 hours and are powerful with great trail and projection, just as I like them.

  • It pushes me out of my comfort zone. Rose has never been my strong suit, but I adore it here. These are woody roses, very elegant, feminine and versatile. I say feminine because that’s how I feel when I wear it, but I also tried it on my husband and it looks spectacular on him. It lasts quite a while; be careful with the sprays as it’s potent. I reapply because I love it, not because it fades quickly. The best part is the dry-down: woody, classic and crisp. Impeccable. I’d recommend trying it before buying. I tested it with low expectations because Rose Gourmand had been overwhelming me (a very sweet rose, at least on my skin), but this one isn’t sweet; it goes for the woody, leather and musk notes. Obviously, I’d buy it again.

  • Absolutely fascinating this Perpetual Oud. It’s a budget fragrance that rivals niche scents like Francis Kurkdjian’s Oud Satin Mood. It features that timeless combination of rose and oud, so typical in Arab perfumery, with sheer elegance. Notes of saffron, amber, leather and vetiver join in. I believe the secret lies in the vetiver; it adds something that enhances the delicacy of the rose and the sophistication of the oud, making it one of the best, if not the very best, from Zara.
