Share what you noticed: opening, drydown, sillage and the moments when it works for you.
It resembles a dozen others that simply aren’t mine. It’s pretty and correct, with a sparkling opening, floral heart, and delicate base, but it offers nothing more. On me, the longevity and sillage are non-existent. It might suit someone else, of course, but I’m not that person. I tried the 2ml and won’t be buying it again.
Terrible disappointment. Is it pretty? Yes. Does it have quality? Also yes. But I feel I’ve smelled this DNA a thousand times before. If you’re looking for the house rose, Atomic Rose gives it a thousand times over. If you want something cleaner, Musk Therapy is better. It’s a pity this isn’t a hybrid of the two, as I expected. Here we have something generic, lacking the personality to be from Initio. What can we do? I can’t like everything.
Between Chloe and Power Self, I’d stick with Chloe. Much prettier, more feminine and sweet; it doesn’t remind me of it at all, save for the rose and musk notes. They are distinct fragrances. At the Initio price point, I expected much more.
I’d love to write a technical review with ingredients and phases. But, like Power Self itself, there is perfection in simplicity here. It is beautiful, subtle, luminous and elegant. After almost three weeks of maceration, it demonstrates that unmistakable Initio quality. It’s a magnet for compliments without seeking the spotlight. Floral and musky, ideal for spring, with surprising longevity despite its softness. A safe bet for gifting (sorry, lads) or as a signature. Alongside Rehab, Musk Therapy and Paragon, it forms the ultimate elite squad for your wardrobe.
