Química de Humor by Natura

A fragrance that really smells of grenadine, it has that fruity chewing-gum thing that puts it in the same family as Ultra Male and others of that clubby ilk. And it’s true, it does have something of Black XS (which also smells of fruity chewing-gum…)

Química de Humor, a fragrance I struggled to find in Argentina, I understand it has sold but I haven’t seen it recently. I had to buy it in Brazil when I was travelling. As for its notes, I find it a serious yet straightforward fragrance, I say “yet” because with this combination of straightforward notes, it’s an easy-to-like fragrance for formal occasions, the well-spiced opening turns into a very interesting lavender with woods. To my nose I get a lot of the spiced opening and lavender in the drydown. I think the interesting twist in the opening comes from cardamom, ginger and priprioca (the latter gives that earthy yet fresh impact). I would stress the longevity, it’s true that after a short while it becomes a fragrance that sits close to the skin. That’s why I rate it for daily use, I wouldn’t say evening, and for casual occasions that still require minimal seriousness (work, a teacher giving one lecture among many, an advanced student already a young adult, etc.). I would highlight the bottle, I really like the matt design and how it goes with the colour of the liquid. I give it 6.5/10, there must be better options in the mid-cost segment.

It’s a fruit mix like tutti-frutti chewing gum with a woody and sweetish but soft base. What’s disappointing is the longevity, practically no sillage, it just stays close to the skin.

It opens very fruity and spicy, with the dry-down the wood becomes more and more noticeable. Exquisite but it lasts 2 hours at most. Such a shame about the terrible performance. A delicious fragrance but totally dysfunctional.

It smells lovely, shame it doesn’t last at all

On first sniff it seems fruity and soapy, but it dries down and changes… it turns into like a dry woody scent, not very sweet, not very fruity, not soapy at all… it’s spicy, I like it but I’m not mad about it… It doesn’t resemble the Química feminine at all except when you smell it from the spray from the bottle

Little to say. It’s no coincidence that Herault is one of the most prestigious perfumers in the world of perfume. A young yet mature fragrance, with very good quality notes. Spicy at the opening, the spices do their job of making it clear that this is not just any perfume. Over time the woody notes intensify greatly and accompany the light sweet and floral notes. Versatile, it can be worn at the office, shopping, family and friends gatherings, even professional or business meetings, although I would draw the line at romantic dates or nights out at nightclubs. A gem from Natura that should always stay in its catalogue.

Charming and fascinating, it’s true, it immediately reminded me of Black XS by Paco Rabanne, however here it is less sweet, more powdery and dry, crowned with an exquisite acidity that is not sharp at all but very sensual… Indeed its star is pomegranate, a little dry and acidic, but there remains an almost velvety-skin sensuality, today I saw it on sale and I couldn’t resist bringing it home with me, the rest of the notes blend very well as you can’t distinguish one from another but they make a very particular accord that adorns the pomegranate almost with hints of dry ginger… Spicy and dry aura with very high quality, nothing to envy from designer or even niche fragrances, let’s remember that here Natura boasts of using natural ingredients. Here many say it is unisex and well strictly speaking any fragrance can be unisex, I understand it could suit a woman well but here on a man’s skin this is unbeatable, raging masculinity…

I left a sample lying in my wardrobe after trying it and finding it feminine, sweet and without even a rich scent. Nothing interesting. I tried it again after a while and wow. I don’t know what happened. It’s like they changed the liquid inside! I LOVED IT! It feels very spicy, it creates a slight tingle in the nose, reminding me a lot of Sauvage, peppery with a clean background touch too, but in this fragrance it’s joined by like a plum note or some fruit, which cuts through all that pepper. I insist, I loved it. It’s a Sauvage with a delicious fruity background touch. In the dry down it looks even more like Sauvage but the sweet note is always there. I highly recommend this scent, at least for you to try it. Very well done, Natura!

The masculine version is lovely, it is fruity but without being a typical sweet feminine fragrance. It has just the right balance. Unlike some comments, I would not place this perfume for use in cold seasons since I would find it dull. I think its ideal weather is spring, day and night. In summer maybe only at night and not with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius either. Its sillage is moderate between 2 and 4 hours, no more than that. The base notes are usually the ones that last longest close to the skin. We don’t find many masculine fragrances where pomegranate predominates, so I give Natura a point for that.

I got hold of a sample of the masculine one and none of the feminine one. I don’t really know why, but the opening smells like black pepper to me but without the heat of pepper. I don’t know much about masculine perfumes, I’ll have to smell it more to be able to describe it… It’s fresh. Somewhat ambery but not sweet. I perceive some soft green notes… It smells “masculine” to me although I would wear it without hesitation… But if this is how the masculine smells, what must the feminine be like!! Anyway, Natura’s proposal is that both, fem and masc, can be mixed creating a unique and personalised combination for the couple who wear them. Hence its name “Química de Humor,” and its campaign with a laboratory image. – August 2020, I passed it on to my partner due to lack of use on my part… On his skin it stays much more acidic/powdery/peppery than on my skin (where it tends to stay more crystalline/ambery). I was surprised by the marked difference… The mix of 3/4 masculine with 1/4 feminine was very pleasant to me.

My husband has it, to me it seems like a rather unisex smell although I wouldn’t wear it (and I don’t like it) because it smells very strongly of mango to me and it’s cloying. It lasts quite a while on skin and has a soft sillage.

Smells like cheap bubblegum fruit with a sweet, soft woody base. The downside is that it lasts and projects for nothing, staying only on the skin.
