Rise by Beyoncé

I bought it blind because it was associated with Manifesto and has a certain resemblance, but honestly, it doesn’t stand out. It’s a common perfume with poor longevity and projection; you have to reapply every 3 hours. However, the dry-down on the skin is lovely, very vanilla and sweet, almost edible. It reminds me of the classic Her Secret by AB, also sweet and pleasant. Anyway, I’m selling it because it’s not worth keeping; I’d rather someone else enjoy it.

I must say I had little faith in the Rise, but its woody drydown has left me speechless. On my skin it lasts about six hours, give or take, but considering the price, I find it incredible. Projection and longevity are moderate.

A very fresh fragrance. The opening is citrusy; bergamot is very noticeable, and on me, it smells like green lemon zest. As it settles, the wood and musk open up. Unfortunately, it disappears completely after a few hours, so reapplication is needed. I’m not a fan of citrus, but I liked this one a lot despite its short duration. An excellent alternative for summer.

Beyoncé’s RiSE caught me off guard: it’s rich, fresh, and super easy to wear. It smells casual, cheerful, and welcoming. It opens with bergamot, myrtle, and basil, giving it an interesting touch; the heart carries orchid, sambac jasmine, and freesia, while the base is cashmere wood, musk, and vetiver. It was launched in 2014 and created by Loc Dong. I bought it blind and loved it. The bottle is pretty and, given the price, it’s worth carrying a small rollerball in your bag for reapplication. It lasts about four hours with moderate sillage. It suits any daytime weather, is cheerful, fun, and lifts the mood.

Another blind buy. I have to say I loved the scent and it was very reasonably priced. The thing is, I don’t know if it’s my pH or something… but it doesn’t last on me at all and has no projection. It leaves a soft scent, and I have to reapply after a few hours.

I tried it because I was intrigued by its resemblance to YSL’s Manifesto; I have a friend who wears it and couldn’t tell them apart, but upon trying Rise, I must confess it could fool me; it’s identical. It’s my friend’s scent. It’s very pleasant, the price is very economical, and it would be ideal for daily use. If you like Manifesto, whether you own one or not, it’s a smart purchase. Vanilla, floral, and sweet perfume. Recommended.

The bottle is gorgeous, featuring a very elegant gold cap. The scent is fantastic and matches Itxaso GM: it smells like YSL Manifesto but much cheaper. It comes across as a fresh, floral woody fragrance, perfectly balanced and surprisingly so. I bought the small size to try it out, and if I love it, I’ll get the larger one. Upon wearing it, several people asked what I was wearing and commented that I looked elegant. It evolves from fresh to sweet floral and then to spiced woody notes. I recommend it for those not too young; I’m in my early forties and it suits me perfectly.

I didn’t have high expectations, but today I tried it and ¡sorpresaaa! It bears a strong resemblance to Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto. I’m not saying they’re identical or that this is the daytime version, but they are so similar that after a few hours, I can smell the base notes, and technically I’m not sure if that’s accurate, but to my nose, they seem identical. Looking at it now, they share the woody, bergamot, and jasmine notes, which gives them credibility. To me, the opening feels more floral than Manifesto, fresher (perhaps why it’s placed in the floral family), but they end up very similar, yes, a little sweet without being oriental. In terms of longevity, I’d say it lasts about 3-4 hours at most, but considering the price, it’s worth it. I was genuinely surprised.
