Pulse by Beyoncé

Launched in 2011 by the Queen of Pop and R&B, I bought this blindfolded for the notes and have no regrets. It’s tropical, unisex, and its star is curaçao with an orange aroma 🍊, accompanied by bergamot, vanilla, pear blossom, musk, woods, jasmine, peony, and orchid. It smells delicious; the citrus notes feel natural on the nose, nothing like the typical ‘cheap’ celebrity scent. A treat that’s worth every penny. I wear it in the evenings during summer; it lasts about four hours but leaves a trail.

Personally, it overwhelms me. The curaçao on my skin dominates too much and cancels out everything else. I recommend testing it on skin before buying; it’s a very particular note. I see it more as suitable for teenagers given that sweet tropical vibe.

Lovely! It smells like summer and transports me to a terrace party with a sea view. It must be the curaçao, like a delicious cocktail. I keep the bottle in my bag to reapply; it lasts three hours on the skin and is ideal for daytime.

I like it; it smells good. It reminds me of Smiley, but this is sweeter while Smiley is more citrusy and floral, I suppose due to the curaçao and combined citrus. It opens citrusy and settles down, giving way to sweetened curaçao with vanilla without eclipsing the citrus tone; at the base, the flowers are noticeable, tying the fragrance together. It seems original, outside the typical celebrity fruity candies. The only reproach is the longevity and trail, acceptable given the price. If you like the scent, it’s not painful to replicate. Suitable for day, office, or university. I don’t think perfumes have an age, but this is for a wide range. I’d use it in any season, though due to its refreshing sweetness, I love it for spring and summer.

I tried it and it’s very fresh, especially for summer. To me it smells totally of pear, very pleasant and delicious. The longevity and sillage are low, but at least it smells good.

I bought this for the citrus and gourmand opening, lemon-foot style, but then it disappointed me: the citrus fades and leaves dense, graceless vanilla with wood. I wouldn’t buy it again; Beyoncé and her very commercial perfumes just don’t convince me.

All of Beyoncé’s perfumes please me at first, but then they have a final note that doesn’t fully convince me. I had this Pulse and for me, the sweet gourmand touch is excessive; the opening of pear blossom and citrus is lovely, but then comes the jammy cloy that made me shelve this scent for cold weather. By the way, on my skin the scent lasted about a flower’s lifetime.

Oh Beyoncé… I was expecting something decent. Not all artist perfumes are bad; I’ve tried several and none seemed good. Her sweet fragrances are sickly, or this smells like cheap supermarket toilet water. I don’t know what to say positively. No, no, and no, her perfumes are as bad as the Solange and Jay Z fight.

Exactly, the bottle and box are pretty, but nowadays perfumes are just scented water. If you want something good, it costs many dollars. Sometimes they only sell brands and it’s not worth it compared to the competition; I have $3,000 worth of perfumes and most is just pretty packaging and promotion. This Beyoncé Pulse is another pretty bottle, I tried it and it smells like cheap perfume.

I find it very fruity and sweet; the vanilla is also cloying. On my skin it feels artificial and I don’t like it at all… after four hours it softens, but very little.

In my opinion it smells of fruit but very heavy and cheap, with poor longevity and a strange scent. They compare it with Womanity and there’s nothing alike; that one is a classy perfume.

This perfume smells of oranges and cinnamon to me. I know it’s not on the list, but I can smell the cinnamon. It’s really pleasant and refreshing, but it lasts on my skin for about two hours. The bottle is stunning!

A different perfume, a quite modern scent, in the style of Womanity by Thierry Mugler. Quite sweet and it highlights the curaçao liquor smell mainly, with vanilla and musk.
