This must be one of the best cherry fragrances in my collection. It has a very appreciable trail that leaves proven traces. Although you don’t notice its intensity when wearing it, people around you do. It’s sweet without being overpowering or cloying, and the cherry is different from the traditional, wrapped in labdanum, violet, tonka bean and heliotrope. It’s very pleasant, especially if you like sweet vanilla/powdery scents. It’s an unmatched blend, for me better than Lost Cherry by Tom Ford and other cherry-based fragrances. It’s very singular, I have nothing similar and I applaud its originality. The longevity is 10. Delighted with this purchase! Size is spot on for my taste 👍🏼
One of the finest cherries I’ve ever tried, with a powerful trail that makes a statement, even if it doesn’t seem quite so intense when worn. It’s sweet without being cloying, featuring a cherry distinct from the usual, wrapped in labdanum, violet, tonka bean, and heliotrope. A truly delightful choice for lovers of sweet, vanilla/ambroxan scents; a unique blend that surpasses Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry and other popular cherry fragrances. Singular, original, and boasting a longevity of 10. Delighted with the purchase and the size! 👍🏼
I like Rouge Smoking. It features a deep, smoky, and vanilla cherry that is long-lasting and pleasant, with tonka bean and heliotrope giving it a powdery touch. It seems more androgynous, with a feminine fruity side and a smoky masculine side, though I see it more as a woman’s scent. The cherry is delicious, a protagonist without being acidic or invasive. I recommend it for autumn, winter, and cold spring mornings. Its scent is red, just like the liquid. Inspired by Pigalle, that artistic and bohemian Parisian neighbourhood; hence the red and smoky notes evoking the atmosphere of the Moulin Rouge. It has character, feels good, lasts hours, and leaves a trail.

I found a fragrance so well-crafted that I think it deserves to be a signature. It has the perfect balance between the sweetness of red cherry with vanilla and tonka bean, the creaminess of labdanum, the seduction of violet and heliotrope, the mystery of smoke, and the sweetness of pink pepper. I detect no bergamot or orange blossom. Its constant evolution compels me to reapply to my wrists, with perfect projection and over 8 hours of longevity. It makes me feel happy, is versatile, slightly feminine unisex, and simply a total beauty.

It’s moderately sweet but not cloying. I sense pink pepper in the opening, the cherry and a smoky touch. To me it’s sweet, fruity and smoky. It leaves traces wherever you go. Y9 feels fine and different, something you won’t find using just any perfume. It’s expensive, but worth it for the quality and the fact that it’s unique
Love at first sight from 2021 (better late than never). One of my favourite gourmands to date and the best cherry note I’ve encountered in perfumery. It’s not a boozy, overly sweet cherry like Lost Cherry; this is much better. Sweet without being cloying, smoky and tremendously seductive, slightly powdery from the heliotrope, mildly spicy and very warm from the tonka bean… in short: perfect. It’s not beast mode, but it’s clearly perceptible without being invasive. It lasts about 7-8 hours. Fun fact: once dried, it reminds me of the female version of a men’s fragrance I know, my partner’s signature, Spicebomb Extreme… don’t ask me why, but what a surprise and wonder. I love it, I love it, I love it.
It was the BDK perfume I most wanted to try, but the first spray didn’t win me over, and after two wears, I wouldn’t buy it. I acknowledge it has an addictive appeal that generates so much love. It has plenty of cherry and spiced vanilla, with a slight ambroxan touch and orange blossom floral. The opening is citrusy and spicy due to bergamot and pepper, but it doesn’t last. It sounds good, but as a whole, it smells like a strange smoked syrup that I don’t quite like. Moderate trail and over 8 hours of longevity. Although I’m intrigued and keep smelling my wrists, it has a slightly unpleasant aspect to my nose that makes me feel it’s not for me. Scent 4.5/10, Longevity 8.5/10, Trail 7/10, Value for money 6.5/10, Versatility 5/10, Packaging 7/10. Would I buy again? No, I didn’t.
It was the BDK fragrance I most wanted to try. The first spray didn’t win me over and, after using it twice, I wouldn’t buy it. However, I admit it has an addictive quality that generates so much love. It has lots of cherry and a significant spiced vanilla, with a slight powdery and floral orange blossom touch. The opening is citrusy and spicy due to the bergamot and pepper, but it doesn’t last. It sounds good, but as a whole it smells like a strange smoky syrup that doesn’t quite please me. Moderate trail and longevity of over 8 hours. Although I’m intrigued and smell it frequently, it has a slightly unpleasant aspect to my nose that makes me feel it’s not for me. I’ve treated myself and bought Rouge Smoking and a sample set from BDK. It’s pure cherry and vanilla: sweet, creamy, smoky and spicy. The heliotrope powders it and the tonka bean warms it up. At first, strangely, it reminded me of mouthwash haha, but once it dries down it becomes more gourmand, like a red fruit panna cotta. It’s inspired by Pigalle, a Parisian neighbourhood that I adore: artistic, red, neon lights and eclectic people. Rouge Smoking is that, bohemian and chic, like having the Moulin Rouge tattooed on your body. Seductive, mysterious, sophisticated, sweet and feminine. The trail is medium/low and it lasts 4 hours. Totally advised against blind buying; many people dislike that syrupy cherry point, but I love it. I love the bottle, simple yet aesthetic, and the red colour is divine. It’s become my favourite cherry perfume! So addictive! ❣️
I treated myself to Rouge Smoking and samples at BDK. It is pure cherry and vanilla: sweet, creamy, smoky, and spiced, dusted with heliotrope and warm with tonka bean. I advise against blind buying due to that syrupy cherry note that doesn’t suit everyone, though I adore it. Simple yet aesthetic bottle with divine colour. My favourite cherry scent and so addictive! ❣️
On my skin there are just three notes: cherry 🍒, vanilla and a fusion of heliotrope and violets that give it that powdery touch. It lasts about 8 hours with moderate trail and projection for the first 4 hours, then fades. I love it and it deserves a place in my collection 🥰 🍒♥️ I’m completely in love with this beautiful Autumn and Christmas in an elegant bottle 💯
Delicious fragrance, sweet cherry that doesn’t smell childish. Definitely has a touch of incense, spicy and sweet all at once
I love it 100%! 😻 It’s so addictive that it almost makes me sleepy; a sweet, vanilla and spicy blend. The only flaw is the longevity: on my skin it lasts about 5 hours, fading to skin scent by the end, and for the price I’d expect more. Nevertheless, it’s one of my favourite fragrances and I’d buy it again without hesitation 🫠
It’s one of the scents I’m delighted to have discovered. What a delight! I first tried it on a tester, liked it, and then bought the decant, probably the full bottle. It has everything I like: powdery, sweet without being gourmand, and original. I sensed the cherry at first, but then the violet and heliotrope took centre stage (giving it that powdery touch). The vanilla and tonka bean are dominant at the end, with the latter lasting a long time. The cashmere and musk base balances everything. I didn’t detect any smokiness. It lasted two days on the tester and all day on my skin without reapplying. P.S. I’ve already bought it and I like it more and more.
It’s nice but nothing spectacular. Too much hype and marketing. Try it before buying to see if it gives you a wow. For me, it’s a no; it lacks quite a bit. I ordered the decant excitedly, and to be honest, it didn’t impress me. The cherry doesn’t dominate; the pepper takes charge, and the other notes are very weak. In my case, a resounding no.
What I like is the dry-down. At first, I didn’t understand it; it smells like cough syrup, but once dried, I said: ‘Ah, now I know why people like it!’. It’s different, lovely, and sweet. DO NOT BUY WITHOUT TRYING IT FIRST!
It’s rare for people to say it resembles Mandorlo di Sicilia… This is the best cherry perfume I have ever smelled. It’s mature, mysterious, sexy, and intoxicating. The smoky cherry with vanilla and violet is seductive and feminine. One could say that Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry is a girl in puberty, whereas this is a woman in full bloom. I’ll continue testing it with the decant, but so far, it has me intoxicated.
It’s strange that many compare it to Mandorlo di Sicilia, but this is the best cherry perfume I’ve ever smelled: mature, mysterious, sexy, and intoxicating. The smoky cherry with vanilla and violet is seductive and feminine. One could say that Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry is the girl in puberty, whereas this is the woman in full bloom. I will continue to test it with a 10ml decant, but so far, it has left me intoxicated.
I just received a 10 ml vial and here I am rushing to comment. At first, it’s cherry, then sweet and warm vanilla. As it dries, the cherry continues with tonka and a bit of musk. If you apply many drops, you notice more pink pepper and heliotrope than violet. It’s a cherry perfume, smoky when dried, very vanilla-forward, warm, non-intrusive, with good projection and longevity. Suitable for any occasion all year round.
I have a decant because I wanted to try it before spending the money, and I absolutely love it. It doesn’t feel complete to me, but it’s a warm vanilla with cherry and a light touch of resin. It’s beautiful for autumn and winter. The final vanilla is delicious, creamy, and of good quality. I was surprised to like it, as cherry isn’t my favourite note.
I have a decant and as it dries, it resembles Tobacco Vanille, but with cherry. Tobacco Vanille gives me nausea, so I’m glad I bought only a decant. The scent is rich, but do not buy the full bottle without trying it first.
At first, it smells slightly medicinal and I don’t detect the bergamot, just the cherry. Once dried, it’s wonderful: cherry, vanilla, and violet. It clings nicely to the skin and smells delicious. It doesn’t project much (I think it’s not meant for heavy spraying), but for me, that’s an advantage, allowing for a more delicate application.
Cherry isn’t my favourite, but it works brilliantly here. It’s universally appealing; the cherry is noticeable yet perfectly balanced. As it dries, it becomes sweet with vanilla and tonka bean. Super subtle, warm, and not at all intrusive. Lasts eight hours on skin with a moderate trail.
I would wear this at any time of year. It’s a super intimate and lovely scent.
It’s practically identical to Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford. There’s little more to say. I don’t even say ‘reminds me of’… it’s identical.
This scent is a very airy cherry and vanilla, with violet coming and going. The dry-down is sweet and warm, enveloping you in a cloud; the trail is medium-low and the longevity is around 6 hours, acceptable. Now I want to try the extrait to see if it has the potency I’m missing here. It changes significantly on the skin; the first time I smelled it on blotting paper, I noticed a cough syrup note. On the skin, in my case, it transforms completely, and only if I concentrate and inhale deeply do I detect something medicinal. Test on skin before buying. Unisex and very versatile perfume.
In Argentina, the brand Sarkany launched an inspiration for Rouge Smoking; it’s 90% similar and has greater longevity. I compared it with the BDK version as my friend has a decant. Plus, it’s only $35 USD.
The Why Not Desire by Sarkany (a leather goods brand in Argentina, shoes, etc.) is their latest fragrance launch, a magnificent dupe with beastly longevity and sillage. Beyond its exquisite scent, I could verify with a sample from BDK that the similarity is astonishing and the price much better.
Jmiranda, I agree with you. While it’s about reviewing perfumes, mentioning which scents they remind you of or noting similarities is also useful to get an idea of what to expect, especially in countries where niche fragrances aren’t easily accessible, either due to limited brand availability or their cost.
When reviewing a perfume, one should discuss the fragrance with its qualities and its flaws. A review should aim for that objective and not be used to advertise cheap clones.
Beautiful perfume, subtle, but don’t be fooled by the ‘subtle’ label; the quality and longevity are evident. Vanilla-forward, with the cherry playing a discreet role.
Intense and dark cherry, wrapped in pepper and a moderate sweetness that gives it depth without being cloying. It’s strong, heavy, sexy, and characterful; it’s not for everyone, especially if you have a sensitive nose, as the potency can be overwhelming. I wouldn’t recommend it for the office: it’s too intense and projects a bold, nocturnal energy. It works brilliantly in autumn and winter, when the cold balances its density. Although I see it as unisex, it has a slightly feminine nuance. The longevity is excellent: on clothes it lasts up to 10 hours with a notable trail.
A perfume legend, simply exquisite and sexy. If you’re a collector and you like sweet, high-quality, easy-to-wear fragrances, this is a great option.
Rouge Smoking is my favourite cherry note. If you love cherry-scented perfumes, you will adore this and must own it. It’s sweet, woody, and elegant; what I notice most is the cherry, tonka bean, cashmere wood, then vanilla, pink pepper, ambroxan, and heliotrope. To be honest, I prefer this version to the Extrait. I feel it’s perfect for cold weather, day or night.
