  Another absolute hit that puts me in a great mood instantly. What a fragrance: the bottle is stunning, and the pressurised atomiser is excellent too (the box is fairly standard, but taking out that spectacular bottle with its star-shaped metal cap makes you realise you’re holding a product from a prestigious house). It smells of leather, but not dry or rustic; rather, very accessible and polished: brilliant. It’s elegant, beautiful, and yet substantial. Unique and extremely long-lasting on the skin. The floral notes of clove and rose are blended beautifully (very spicy, peppery, or ambered, I suppose it’s the labdanum which is very noticeable) with the leather, patchouli and oakmoss that give it that fortified density. The benzoin plays a major role, adding that resinous, creamy vibration. I’ve been hugely impressed by Kajal Sawlaj, perhaps the least known of the brand and certainly the least hyped within the collection. A magnificent creation from the talented Carbonell. The characteristic scent of modern Middle East right in your hands.
