Your Devotion Eau de Parfum Intense by Dolce&Gabbana

In Mexico, my country, Agua de Horchata is very popular, but made with the seeds and a little melon pulp, cinnamon, milk and soaked rice… well, this perfume is a glass full of crushed ice and creamy melon horchata! I think it’s a beautiful perfume, very much in the clean girl vein, slathered in fine, terribly expensive cream, but elevated. Lactonic: quite. Sweet: moderate. Fruity: moderate. Vanilla: very vanilla, but ehhh! A fresh, ozonic, very special vanilla! It lasted really well, eight hours with considerable projection and then close to the skin for the rest of the day. I hope they bring out the full body line, with body cream and body wash!

I want to warn those who went to smell it in Sephora or another shop… and were disappointed, because although it’s an INTENSE perfume, it smells as if they’re selling you the scent separately to download; don’t take any notice of it, because I don’t know what’s going on with those testers, they have nothing to do with how the perfume actually turns out. Despite smelling the disappointing tester, I bought it because the Devotion line has never let me down, and when I sprayed the perfume at home… NOTHING like it, it smells very intensely of vanilla cream.. melon… a little citrus touch… it’s lovely to smell. It reminds me of a little pastry/tart with really fresh custard and fruit on top, it’s not sickly at all but it has that characteristic gourmand feel. And yes, it projects and lasts quite well, it’s not a monster but it won’t abandon you after a few hours.

The cheek of calling it intense, and it lasts as long as an eau de cologne: soft and subtle. It’s floral and citrus, but if you’re after melon, there’s none here! I expected something creamy and melony, but I found a timid, milky melon; it’s not vanilla-ish or creamy, it leans more citrus. And for the price, and the con of saying it’s an intense eau de parfum, it’s a con. It does smell, yes, but close to the skin. Sillage 6, Longevity 7, Originality 6, Quality 5.

Here you find a timid and creamy melon; in sillage and longevity, eau de toilette quality. A definite no. If you want to smell of melon, they’ve already done it brilliantly with Divine Le Parfum or Star Girl by Don Algodon. This one, although I find it the most interesting of the whole line, brings nothing to the perfume offer.

Personally, I liked it a lot. It is very much in line with the other Devotion fragrances, and it is especially very similar to My Devotion. Here we have an elegant, vanilla-scented melon that is delicious (to my taste). It is not as sweet as I imagined before smelling it based on the notes. It is a Devotion with a very present yet elegant milky melon. It is not simply sweet. I personally loved that. I think the oakmoss is the elegant touch that stops the perfume from being too sweet.
