Perfumer
Christelle Laprade
“Here, smell! Try!” When she was a child and grew up not far from the Mediterranean, Christelle Laprade learned to speak and began calling her parents every time she had something in her hands. Later, she would follow people down the street and try to guess what perfume they were wearing. After graduating from secondary school, she found her true calling: she would be a perfumer of fine fragrances and nothing more, to enter people’s lives and leave a lasting impression. Guided by the belief that perfume should be fun, she builds fragrances with a wellbeing-focused approach. Her unwavering determination and her taste for the unusual fit well with a city like New York. With her model-like appearance, her stiletto heels and her red lipstick, this well-organised, scientific and well-mannered young woman seems to be the very embodiment of the Franco-American dream. Until one speaks with her and discovers the ambivalence that emanates both from her personality and from her olfactory creations. She calls it “trash-glam”. It’s not for the faint-hearted!
