Here in LatAm, it’s nothing like One Million. While Europeans judge by price, we notice the olfactive family: floral lavender opening, cardamom and pepper heart, and pure tonka bean base. It’s the sweetness of our winter melancholy, designed for temperate climates and sanguine temperaments, far from the cloying original.

A pity it’s disappointing if it weren’t for the 7 euros; I can always give it away. Reminds me of 1 Million but weaker, without that initial sweet hit. It turns out quite bland, and after two hours only a faint, distant musk remains.

I never tire of testing clones, and Darkbeat gave me a chance with this Avon Mesmerize Black. It’s honesty bottled in perfume: a 1 Million-style scent with its own characteristics. It’s sweet, discreet yet long-lasting, creamier and softer than the original. Forget the spices and gum; it offers an elegant, versatile woody tonka for adults. It won’t win awards, but its value for money is excellent and it’s a pleasant alternative.

I didn’t expect much from this Avon perfume, especially for under 10 euros, but I liked it and swallowed my prejudices. It reminds me of the original 1 Million but softer and without that super-sweet cinnamon, ending up fresher and more versatile. The opening and heart are familiar, but the base is different: a warm, creamy cedar with tonka bean, which is a delight. Performance is moderate, fitting for the price, so it doesn’t hurt to use a lot. On my skin it lasted 5-6 hours with medium sillage at the start and soft afterwards. It serves for day and night in fresh or temperate climates; it doesn’t work well in summer. It’s another economic option imitating the legendary Paco Rabanne but with a lovely, different dry-down. If you like 1 Million but find it too intense or expensive, this is your option.

Similar to One Million Intense: without that chewing gum cinnamon, there’s a cardamom sweetness that sticks. It lasts 4-5 hours, but if you put it on clothes, it goes off the charts. Avon sells it for 12 dollars and it’s worth it. It’s youthful, modern and party-ready. A tip: mix it with the original Mesmerize and you’re left with a resinous, warm, delicious scent that earns you compliments in the office without anyone noticing the trick.

I tested it last year and what a good smell it has. Smells very well, slightly sweet but not over the top. I could only smell it because a friend owns one, and it’s noticeable that it smells incredible.
