The notes smell a bit medicinal, but it’s so addictive I’m constantly sniffing my wrist. I don’t detect the fruity, amber, and sweet aspects from the description; instead, it feels herbal, spiced, and musky. It’s not seductive or mysterious, but rather a vintage fougère touch—cool and serious. It’s like a spice bomb without the sweetness or youthful freshness, but be warned, it’s delicious and very handsome. Not bad at all.

I wonder what’s going on with Byredo’s creator regarding plum; surely that’s enough, isn’t it? This note, distilled like plum cake rather than fresh fruit, isn’t for everyone; it adds a toy-like, nursery feel, a bit of playdough, making it slightly difficult to swallow. Eleventh Hour tries to escape that, despite sharing the same plum DNA as its siblings from the brand, drowning instead in a citrus touch that almost takes me back to Hermès Merveilles. I liked it, but not enough to buy it, especially at that price, where I see Merveilles or Merveilles Bleue as more apt and better assembled.

Very woody and aromatic. At first, it smells strongly of rum, but fades quickly on the skin (total relief, as I can’t stand rum). On the skin, it becomes more pleasant with a sweet citrus note from the fig, though it remains very woody. On blotter, it smells damp, like the air after rain. I’ve loved it; perfect for autumn and winter. The longevity is top-notch, just like all Byredo fragrances on my skin.
