Unforgivable by Sean John: Forget the comparisons with Creed or Armaf; while they share DNA, they vibrate differently. What matters is the impact: it’s a bombshell that catches you immediately. It’s like seeing a movie star on the red carpet; first it suggests, then it fascinates. It’s the difference between a ‘who are you?’ and a ‘hello, you look so handsome’. It projects an image of a clean, confident, and attractive man without being showy. It’s a must if you’re looking for a scent that represents you anywhere. Everything flows well: opening, development, and dry-down. Performance is its only flaw; it needs constant reapplication, like a sports car lacking power. But for the price, it doesn’t matter. For those who want to compete, it’s a great option. Scent: 10. Projection: moderate (good for 1 hour, then drops). Longevity: 5 hours. Recommended.

I bought it blindly last year after a YouTuber recommended it and I loved it: soft and rich. Yes, the mandarin, orange, lavender, and sandalwood are noticeable; perfect for a signature scent. But its Achilles’ heel is longevity: it projects well for the first hour (with about 5 sprays) and then stays in your personal bubble; only those right next to you can smell it. Perhaps it lasts longer with more quantity. In conclusion: a rich but discreet scent; I wouldn’t buy it again. By the way, people say it shares the same DNA as Club de Nuit Milestone; I’d like to try it, as that house has better fixation, maybe in the future.

The scent smells good, perhaps a bit more citrusy than my taste, but nothing bad. I expected it to last a little longer. I own Zara fragrances and comparing them, the longevity and trail of Unforgivable aren’t better. Would I buy it again? I doubt it. I’d opt for something different; even if it’s more expensive, it lasts longer and lets you feel its presence.

This fragrance is a gem… I bought it years ago when it first launched and, like many others, had it hidden in my drawer. Now that I smell it again… well, it’s a delicious scent, very unique; I think it even matured in the bottle. I feel it with more power. Thank goodness I kept it.

Sean John always releases interesting fragrances; pity the weak projection and longevity; Unforgivable is no exception, it’s a great fragrance without lasting power.

A very pleasant fragrance; I haven’t dared to buy it yet, but I prefer to evaluate it myself; I’ve had bad experiences with YouTubers before, they always say it’s great and the result is disastrous, or they give bad recommendations. It’s worth trying it yourself and drawing conclusions. I only had a sample a long time ago and I liked it a lot; I hope I get lucky and it hasn’t been reformulated (something almost impossible).

What a strange thing! The opening is a chaotic mess that doesn’t suit me at all; it improves slightly when it dries down, but still doesn’t convince me. It smells very ‘X’. After that peculiar, astringent opening, it becomes a skin scent, and honestly, the price isn’t economical at all. I bought it for $60 in Mexico, and it came with gel and aftershave. Not recommended at all, neither for the scent, the longevity, nor the price; there are better options for that cost. PS: This is my personal opinion. I’ve never received a compliment with this smell, but everyone should try it to their own taste.

It starts with grapefruit and lime, then moves to iris and lavender which linger, and finally rum with a very soft amber, all within five minutes, with almost no evolution. It was a blind purchase based on good reviews, and I think I had my expectations too high. It doesn’t smell as synthetic and lasts longer than others, but it’s just not my taste. I recommend trying it before buying.

I first bought it in Buenos Aires in 2007; the saleswoman recommended it because I was looking for something original, and I loved it instantly. It smells of orange, tangerine, and spices, very delicious. It has brought me many compliments, and someone even gifted it to me again, making me happy to use it once more. Later, it was discontinued in Chile; I searched high and low and finally found it in a free trade zone in Punta Arenas. Until about a year ago (2019-2020), it still wasn’t available in Chile. I think it’s one of my favourites, alongside the already discontinued Emporio Armani City Glam, which never returned. What a shame, because it was exceptional.

I’ve just finished this fragrance, and the truth is it’s nothing special. I was seduced by several comments and the fact that in 2007 it was awarded as one of the best, but it’s not bad, nor is it a perfume for special occasions or one to keep in favourites. It has a citrus and fresh aroma but lasts only a few hours; it’s one of those perfumes you can use daily so you don’t run out of your favourites.

I realised last night that my bottle is identical to Fragrántica’s but different from the one in the advertisements. After researching, I found that Sean John went to Jacavi Beauty Group with a redesign and reformulation. If you catch a batch before 2017 with the large typography at the bottom, it’s a total success for temperate climates; the new bottle seems to perform less, but it’s worth trying to confirm.

I bought it for about $30, and it lasted only three months because my 12-year-old son used it too, and my wife said it smelled lovely every time we wore it. When I wanted to buy it again, the price had gone up. It resembles Bleu de Chanel slightly at the start, with this one being more floral, but they are very similar in the citrus notes. I haven’t tried the Millesime Imperial, but if it smells like Unforgivable, it must be very good. Ideal for daytime and summer.

Very good fragrance, with a note of orange/tangerine among my favourites, very well recreated and with the right balance: it doesn’t smell synthetic like a Boss in Motion or Hugo Dark Blue, nor too natural as if you’d just peeled a fruit. Between the opening and the heart, there’s a kind of effervescence or fizz, like a champagne note instead of the rum it says. When the fizz settles, it becomes a classic neroli cologne (like 4711 or JM Farina) but enhanced and modernised. On me, the projection is very good for several hours and the longevity is excellent; it lasts all day. Unfortunately, it stopped selling in Argentina years ago, but in the USA it’s sold at almost giveaway prices, so every time I travel it’s the opportunity to restock in large quantities.

I’m sure it won the FiFi Award 2007 for that exquisite, citrusy yet sweet-floral scent, but be warned: don’t expect much in terms of trail and longevity. It lasts about four hours with a very soft sillage. The good news is it’s reasonably priced; reapplying every four or six hours is welcome and enjoyable. Although its name is ‘Unforgivable’, I will forgive its lethargic performance solely for that wonderful aroma throughout its entire development.

Last year a great friend gave it to me and said it suited me better than him. I didn’t understand why, but I happily accepted it. In my room, applying it to my wrist, I was dazzled by its intense aroma and started looking forward to the weekend for gatherings. To me, it’s totally seductive; I’ve received many compliments, from women and men alike. Now I understand my friend, as being married it didn’t please his wife, but being single it makes sense. I question whether the designer aimed for a seductive scent, as it’s for over 30s while his clothing is youthful. But it’s incredibly charming. The opening is an intense, slightly bitter citrus of great quality. Then it develops into a trail of fine woods like mahogany, sandalwood, or cedar, adding mystery and sophistication. As it settles, it takes a base of bitter orange and alcohol that makes you feel worldly, confident enough to start intellectual conversations, whether as a conqueror or in business. Elegant, masculine, warm, intoxicating, seductive, like a fine tobacco pipe. The trail and longevity are pleasing. Undoubtedly special for romantic nights or dates to woo the woman of your choice in a sophisticated restaurant, outdoors with candles and champagne, waiting to show her the ring. Its dark, serious bottle denotes that seductive proposal, perfect for thanking someone for an unforgettable night.
