  Good quality fragrance, but it just doesn’t fit my profile. The cypress note feels too sharp, or perhaps simply doesn’t suit my nose, even though I enjoy it in other compositions. It opens with a fresh, sweet burst of bergamot, grapefruit, and the fruity sweetness of apple and cinnamon; that blend gives me vibes of the classic One Million and Hero Eau de Parfum. After a few minutes, the sharp, green cypress emerges, while the declared iris barely makes a dent in the mix. The musk and amber base is top-notch, with a slightly woody dry-down that keeps the sweetness alive. It’s a quality fragrance, but it brings back memories of old acquaintances I never really got on with. If you like this profile and are after quality, it might interest you, though there are cheaper options that deliver a similar experience. I’ll stick with other scents from the house that suit me better; in the end, it all comes down to personal taste.

  To start, I’ll say this doesn’t innovate or try to grab attention, but Carbonel has done a brilliant job. At first, the iris reminds me of several fragrances, specifically the clean, creamy version of Prada L’Homme. Here, that floral is paired with sweet, playful touches like cinnamon, a hint of apple, and pink pepper. In the heart, it smells like Ultramale by JPG, as if Prada had launched a luxury niche after asking permission from Ultramale. I love it, but the price is excessive, perhaps due to the exclusivity. Ideal for lovers of clean iris and the night, but it does make you dig deep into your pocket. Longevity and projection are notable. Try before you buy: if there’s a good deal, go for it, but not at retail price.

Although it’s nothing new and even reminds me of L’Homme by Prada, Xerjoff takes it to another level here with ingredients and performance that are out of this world. The apple, cinnamon, and that musky iris make it exquisite. It’s suitable for everything, except very cold or hot days. The only drawback is the price… an absolute fortune. Rating: 9.0/10.

  It’s a clean iris with a brutal dose of green apple. While I adore most Xerjoff creations, this reminds me of the cologne my friends wore after gym class in high school. A pity, because it doesn’t make me feel unique for a collection called ‘Sketchbook’, and at this price point, it simply doesn’t make sense. Thumbs down this time.
