Share what you noticed: opening, drydown, sillage and the moments when it works for you.
It’s unisex, refined and long-lasting. Although vanilla takes the lead, it doesn’t smell like dessert: it’s sweet yet fresh, with a note that initially seems like liquor (probably the plum). It reminds me of Valaya and Angels Share. I don’t wear it daily, but it’s that perfume for when you want to show your best version 😜
It’s not Eau Duelle, but it gives the same sensation: a forest of vanilla, dried leaves, orange, brown, golden tones, wood and resin. It’s special; I wouldn’t buy it blindly, but it’s worth trying. I choose perfumes for the emotions they evoke: Vanille Antique is the calm of reading a book while leaning against an old tree, in my favourite jumper.
This is class, luxury and refinement. A brutal vanilla, which I feel is very boozy even though no liquor is declared. Elegant, classic and fine. Tremendous perfume 😍
This vanilla smells like ‘powerful person’ (according to my boyfriend). It’s ambered, spiced, elegant and well-balanced; it suits any day, but it’s very queen-like for going out. The projection lasts 2-3 hours before dropping to skin scent, but it’s still noticeable until 8-10 hours.
A vanilla that doesn’t smell like dessert: it’s an essence, ambered and smells like old paper (I can’t quite explain that note). The name fits perfectly; it takes you to other times. I liked it.
I loved this offer of antique vanilla: potent and long-lasting. Be warned, if you’re looking for something super sweet and gourmand, this isn’t for you. It’s very woody, with plum at the start, semi-ambered and very warm when dry; it’s comforting. It’s as I expected from Replica ‘Whispers in the Library’ (which didn’t work on me). It smells like fine wood from an old library and a luxury room freshener. Very selective. If I were looking for something similar, I’d choose ‘Cairo’ by Penhaligon’s, but Vanille Antique is more wearable and long-lasting. Absolutely unisex. Compared with Ambre d’Alexandrie by Boucheron, there’s no comparison: Boucheron’s is incredibly sweet and leans towards gourmand. It’s not ideal for blind buying; I recommend trying it first. It was lucky for me, but it’s certainly not for everyone.
It seems they created it to sour existence. It has a note that irritates me greatly; it smells like ammonia. When I smell it, I imagine a fetid swamp with a monster waiting to emerge. Definitely not for me.
