Prada Luna Rossa Ocean is an aromatic fougère fragrance for men. Launched in 2021, this composition was created by Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm. • I bought this perfume thinking it would be versatile, ideal for any occasion. I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. I spent whole days in shops trying a myriad of blues, from the most commercial to the most sophisticated, and although I’m not an expert, I can affirm with certainty that Luna Rossa Ocean has nothing to envy the others. It’s a very good option if you’re starting in the world of perfumery.

  • It’s up to me or with three sprays on the arm I find it weak, I tried it today at Druni. They say it lasts but I find the scent quite light.

  • It has something… a citrus note, something marine, a soft mentholated touch, something reminiscent of typical blue ambroxans. Perhaps another little aromatic note of sage… I’m not much of these scents but it didn’t seem a disaster to me. Like a very professional and neutral fragrance, although with a slightly mischievous background when it dries; perhaps that declared caramel in the base. Come on… a 5.75 hehe.

  • Careful, it’s not a fresh, aquatic blue fragrance despite the name. It’s a soapy fougere. It smells like shaving foam, fresh and a bit spicy, I suppose due to the pink pepper. When it dries, lavender and iris add a warm touch to the musk. Poor projection, it sticks to the skin immediately. Update: in the end I got 50ml… I like wearing it after shaving or coming out of the hairdresser’s, it’s like prolonging the freshly shaven scent!

  • I gave it a second chance and I still don’t like it. I like (more or less) the opening and the heart phase (which isn’t very long either), where it reminds me of shaving foam, but the dry-down, which arrives in a few minutes and stays close to the skin, is very unpleasant to me. It’s hard to explain why it doesn’t smell dirty or animalic, far from it, but the combination of notes just doesn’t work for me. Plus, standard longevity and poor projection.

  • The first time I smelled it I was taken aback, probably used to other Prada fragrances that I fell in love with instantly. On subsequent occasions I found more reasons to appreciate it: first, that it lacks the excessive ambroxan of Luna Rossa Carbon which saturates with use; I think it corrects the harshness of the Carbon and makes it more bearable and mature. It’s a blue and clean fragrance, versatile, with a slightly soapy dry-down without reaching the level of the L’Homme or Amber lines. The sweetness of the declared caramel is felt but very faint, thank God. A good perfume, which doesn’t reach the level of its siblings but performs perfectly as a signature scent. That’s all.

Hello. The perfume isn’t bad, but it lacks projection and the longevity is regular. Given the price, I feel it offers little; if it lasts a few hours it doesn’t project enough to denote quality. In Argentina it’s very expensive and one feels cheated, because for slightly more you can buy something from niche that lasts longer and projects better. Even many from Natura have better performance. I won’t go into details about the quality; when the delivery is so poor, you don’t know if there is any quality or not.

I own it; I tried a lot before deciding on this one, looking for something original and I really liked it. It’s a pity it projects nothing, the longevity is average, about 2-3 hours at most, then it barely smells, so you have to reapply. I liked it but I wouldn’t buy it again; perhaps it would work better in summer, but for winter, spring or autumn, I don’t recommend it if you’re looking to leave a trail or just smell yourself.

  • I bought it looking for something new within the blue fragrances and it caught me by surprise; it brings something innovative. It’s already my favourite for the office. It’s not for everyone, as the opening is strong and that spicy, citrusy blend can be off-putting, but I absolutely loved it. What I like most is how it sits: close to the skin but with very noticeable sweet and floral notes that make me keep smelling my clothes all the time. It won’t fill you with compliments because it doesn’t project much, but it is distinctive and original. If you want to try something beyond Bleu or Dylan Blue and are looking for something less conventional, you’ll love it.

Having Kenzo Homme EDT Intense, this one faded to the background. Fortunately, there’s not much left in the bottle. It’s not a bad scent, but nothing special enough to keep as a backup… something I do have with the Kenzo, which plays in a different league regarding projection, trail, longevity, and aroma (though this is subjective, as every nose is a different world). Kenzo Homme EDT Intense covers the marine/fresh/blue category far better, being one of the best designer scents… Prada Luna Rossa Ocean won’t return to my collection when it runs out; I’ll just keep the bottle. Nothing more to add, Your Lordship.

  • I like it; it’s a fragrance dominated by lavender, smelling like a fine home air freshener (haha). The scent is pleasant but not overwhelming. I like to wear it for fresh, daytime moments, but its trail is weak, as is its longevity.

  • Erick Elixir

WOMEN LOVE IT! Men not so much. All those who reviewed it ‘badly’ seem to be the type of people who prefer generic scents… perhaps they had a stuffy nose, or weren’t in the right climate, temperature, or mood. Estela: Moderate, projecting for five hours. Longevity: Eight hours on aura and twenty-four on skin. Gender: Masculine. Season: Autumn-winter, or spring-summer nights if overapplied. ***IT IS NOT A BLUE FRAGRANCE***, and perhaps that’s why many were disappointed. The opening is fresh with a very elegant clean aroma (characteristic of Prada); the iris is always present but a clean, unblocked, subtle iris. Lavanda becomes noticeable throughout, with dark leather touches, and a sweet, fresh base that persists all the way through. I recommend it for when you’re dressed well, not in your favourite football team’s t-shirt, nor for going to a bar for wings. It’s a fragrance for a man who knows he’s had a bit of a rough day. The opening does remind me slightly, just a little, of Dylan Blue, but within a minute, it finds its own path towards elegance and freshness. Don’t buy it if your tastes are generic; if you’re looking for the typical blue fragrance, you need a more trained nose than average.

  • It’s not a blind buy fragrance, nor for those with a beginner’s nose; the opening can scare off those new to complex scents. It was a fragrance I didn’t know how to appreciate at first, but today it seems like a little gem in terms of originality. I recommend it.

I bought this a year ago and am finally reviewing it. Usage and compliments: After so long, I wore it to an English class in a closed room, and people kept asking what perfume I was wearing and how nice it smelled. Another time, a cashier at a supermarket loved it and asked the same questions. If you’re looking for constant compliments, this isn’t the best, but it will definitely get you some, so don’t worry about that. Scent: Linked to the compliments is the aroma itself, and personally, I really like this fragrance; I’m fascinated by it. It’s the typical ‘blue’ scent but with a slightly sweet undertone. It’s very masculine, not unisex at all. As for the sweetness, it’s just a touch, so don’t panic if you hate syrupy perfumes. You won’t find anything like One Million or Ultra Male here either, just a bearable sweetness that won’t give you a headache on hot days when wearing it. Projection and longevity: This is my disappointment. The projection is very poor, and so is the longevity, perhaps lasting at most four hours, with projection only for the first hour and a half. Honestly, in this regard, it’s a disaster, but if you don’t have my problem with needing to reapply, go ahead. Conclusion: Would I buy it again? Of course, since it’s a scent not everyone has or knows, and I really enjoy using it. It’s true that the projection and longevity are horrendous, but reapplying solves that.

  • First of all, let me clarify that I am not an expert nose. Nevertheless, I have owned and used it for quite some time, so I believe I can offer an opinion. It opens with a very rich citrus note where one can appreciate a citrus sweetness from the bergamot and the freshness of the pink pepper. The heart features a sweet lavender with a delicious caramel base, very well blended. One can also detect the iris which gives it a soapy quality. A very sweet caramel base, along with a musk that makes it clean. Longevity is average (6-5 hours). Projection is good for the first hour, then it softens until it sits right on the skin quickly. It is a pity regarding the performance as I find it a very rich scent, though slightly synthetic. A good option for all ages and audiences, especially if you want a slightly different blue fragrance. Perfect for all summer and spring, and also part of autumn. Projection: 6, Longevity: 6, Scent: 8, Versatility: 9, Price: 6. Final note: 7.

  • Mr. Baskerville

A decent fragrance all round. From the first spray, I understood two things: it is a blue fragrance through and through and doesn’t reinvent the wheel… but I must make several points. Firstly, I do not perceive the overused ambroxan that persists in its competitors, which distinguishes it, at least for those users who enjoy testing perfumes. Secondly, it takes a slight risk with a clearly musky and sweet base that is not derived from coumarin, as in other proposals, and although this doesn’t result in a major change by the end of the day, it does give it a slight character of its own. It is a pleasant fragrance that won’t clash during the day or at more intimate gatherings, though it won’t spark romantic fervour either. True that ladies like it, but in my experience, almost all blue fragrances do. Among blue fragrances, it is not one of the least in terms of projection and longevity, nor is it one to set off fireworks. Both characteristics are good and improve with temperate or slightly warm temperatures. Regarding the price, I have my doubts; if one is seeking blue fragrances with good performance, it is not entirely clear that this is a winner, but it remains an option to consider. Having said that, I join the opinion of those who think squeezing the cow until the bones is already tiresome. Making yet another version is certainly annoying, and while it is not surprising that Prada did it, it is disheartening for those who knew the fame and elegance of that house. The standards are being lowered in these times, perhaps not in the product itself but in the concepts of what they sell and in treating the user as a mere fool. Sad.

Magnificent. I’ve just finished my second bottle and, in my opinion, the EDT is superior to both the EDP and Le Parfum, placing it firmly within the designer fragrance world. I remember the day I discovered it; my goal was to find a scent for daily wear in temperate climates, knowing Prada’s reputation for cleanliness, and it was love at first sight. There was something fascinating within its notes, unconventional, until I researched and discovered it was the caramel note. Something unusual in a blue fragrance, yet executed ingeniously and splendidly. In short, it’s one of the fragrances that has earned me the most compliments. I wore it to university and people always told me how good I smelled, a real joy for those of us who love compliments. I expected it to be more marine given the name ‘Ocean’, but it didn’t disappoint; it made me feel identified with it, a youthful, clean scent of very good taste. Recently, I heard about the new variants, the EDP and Le Parfum, and felt such sadness seeing they have completely strayed from what the EDT was. The EDP has a slight resemblance but is simpler, while the Parfum is a total letdown; the notes bear no relation and seem to belong to another Luna Rossa line. It would have been exciting to believe they would smell similar but with greater concentration and longevity, but it certainly wasn’t, what a pity. I will always stick with the EDT and buy my third bottle; it’s a great option as a signature fragrance. The only negative point is the longevity, which, although not bad, is somewhat scarce for such a splendid aroma, lasting around 5 hours on skin and a maximum of 2.5 hours of moderate projection. But for its scent, I will always say BRAVO. I suggest carrying a decant to reapply. Keep your skin well-hydrated with neutral cream and allow it to absorb, stay hydrated by drinking water, so you can prolong this masterpiece as much as possible. I hope this has helped, thanks.

  • A small sample of this Luna Rosa Ocean EDT arrived and my initial impression was negative. At those concentrations, the dihydro-mycenol is overwhelming and prevents me from detecting the other notes. It takes about 30-40 minutes for it to settle enough for the lavender to emerge, followed by a very soft suede note and some iris at the base. The issue is that by evening, it sits right on the skin and the scent is frankly very faint. In this case, for me, the solution wouldn’t be to replicate it, as that would mean returning to the torture of that overdone dihydro-mycenol.

  • Acquired after multiple trials in travel and shops. Rich, a versatile ‘blue’ fragrance, smells clean with quality and is not invasive, very original. It distances itself from classics like Bleu, Y, Sauvage, Dylan Blue… It has the positive addition of not carrying ambroxan, a note I don’t like. After a nice citrus-herbal opening, it stands out for its magnificent lavender (its Luna Rossa DNA) alongside an exquisite sage, to emerge afterwards with a very nuanced ‘Prada brand’ iris with a slight, subtle, enjoyable sweetness in the base. No marine touches. I agree it’s much better achieved than Ocean EDP and Parfum. Although it is Luna Rossa, it leans more towards the normal Prada Homme or EAU, but it turns out to be more playful, less stern, more jovial, a touch sweeter, just enough, and a bit more expansive with the same longevity. Along with Loewe 7 Cobalt it’s my preferred dupa for designer ‘blue’ perfumes: Cobalt is more striking, evolutionary, original and incense-based, and Prada Luna Rossa Ocean is neater, discreet, conquering and short-range. For me it lasts 5-6 hours, no more, with moderate projection in a personal bubble although it hooks onto clothes a lot. For long days one has to reapply. Tried in summer and very well, very wearable; less so in cold weather it’s very versatile. Mainly I see it for daytime use, although some evenings it can look good. Not suitable for everyone, some will prefer others from the Luna Rossa line or directly the Prada Homme, although it’s hard for it to disgust anyone. If you like it as I do, well done!, nowadays it’s very well priced for the quality of its notes and its distinction. If one day I abandon my madness for perfumery, I would get a 200ml bottle of this for single-use in any occasion. Salu2.

  • I’m updating my review: I received a batch a year old and I think it’s been reformulated, but for the better. It lasts over 8 hours and in the final phase I notice they’ve stretched it out; I sense a clean, salty ambroxan with an oceanic character that lasts much longer than the first version. Also in the heart phase I notice more wood, cedar, very neat and airy, blending into clean, soapy, aromatic tones. The spectacular part is the opening: in addition to what’s declared, I notice a slight marzipan character (Spanish sweet with almond), which for me is one of the best opening notes in a blue fragrance. Airy style and trail, not heavy, projects a lot in the first hours and then becomes discreet and versatile. I like this EDT much more than the later ones. It gains points every day I get to know it more.

  • Re-review: after two weeks, it is one of the fragrances with the worst performance I’ve tried, if not the worst. 2023 batch. I spray it 10 times (without exaggerating) and it disappears in less than two hours. No trail, confirmed by people around me. A pity, because the aroma hooked me a lot. When it’s gone, I won’t buy it again. I don’t recommend it. Impulses aren’t always right: the aroma convinced me, and a lot. The evolution from opening to dry-down is interesting, ephemeral, the longevity is lacking. It’s an EDT, but with the two 10ml bottles I have, it replicates my workday and I see it as more versatile. I’m tempted to wear it for any situation. It’s neat, soapy, slightly sweet, very pleasant. First impressions. Surely it will need re-evaluation after longer tests. The sense of longevity is very poor. Barely on skin in 3 hours (last year’s batch) and, woe is me, lavender everywhere. If you like this note, bathe in it, but if it overwhelms you as it does me, run. I see it similar to Libre by YSL due to the lavender load, and that’s why it doesn’t quite fit for me. Luckily the iris softens it. It ends up being a pleasant, neat, harmless soapy perfume, and the lavender doesn’t leave. I couldn’t stand the caramel. I was looking for something for everyday use and this isn’t it. I’ll keep testing it.

  • It’s not a challenging scent nor does it break the mould, but it’s good. I find it very much in the style of Sauvage and Dylan Blue, even a touch of Y, with that characteristic, slightly subdued iris. Longevity and projection are normal; I disagree with those who say it lasts 2 hours. I use it for work and it lasts almost all day.

  • Mathias Ferreira

It lacks longevity and one other thing: the caramel fades very quickly, but the first hour is incredible. 7/10.

  • Absolutely spectacular, it has bested Bleu de Chanel. Best summer fragrance, unfortunately it lasts only 1 hour on skin and 2 on clothes.

  • The iris in Prada is the strongest and driest of all. I’ve given it many chances, but this perfume gives me a sore throat and a headache 😹. And it lasts a long time! So aggressive that it causes anosmia in people.

  • The word Ocean is merely decorative; it’s neither fresh nor aquatic, it smells like soap. It has a sweet lavender with caramel notes, not overpowering or cloying, with a clean, addictive musk base. It lasts barely 6 hours on clothes and 4 on skin. It doesn’t resemble Myself in the slightest.

  • fragmaster

The opening is brutal, one of the best I’ve tried. I leave for the office with a smile on my face. I don’t know if it’s the batch or I’m suffering from olfactory fatigue, but after two hours it smells as if I’d just splashed water on myself. I don’t mind reapplying, but it’s a shame it can’t compete with other blues.

  • Avalon1224

A floral masculine fragrance, nothing special, which on my skin lasts a short time.

  • Jaime Ramírez

Better buy Empire by L’BEL; it’s 90% similar but more long-lasting and projects more. It’s very rich, smelling like a designer perfume for £20 or less.

  • IliaApturioTopturio

Smells rich, a little citrusy, very versatile, but projects nothing and doesn’t last long 😿

  • It’s true that its meagre projection doesn’t make it an attractive option. It projects only for the first three minutes (I’m not exaggerating). There is something about this perfume that generates rejection in me. I’m not sure if it’s the too creamy/earthy iris. Fortunately, I’ve only bought a decant. Usually, I write more extensive reviews, but with this perfume, I just can’t bring myself to. It doesn’t inspire me, it doesn’t stand out; I’ll skip this LUNA ROSSA line and go straight for any of the three PRADA L’HOMME.

  • I love the scent, sweet but not cloying, and at the same time fresh and elegant. I definitely love the notes; I see many don’t like iris, but I differ slightly as I do enjoy it. The aroma lasts an average time on skin and clothes, but the projection and trail are not good ☹️. If it lasted longer and projected more, it would enter my top list; I love the smell, but the longevity leaves much to be desired. This doesn’t mean I wouldn’t recommend it; another negative point is that if you want to smell good all day, you need to reapply 1 or 2 times more.

  • One of my favourite perfumes!! A youthful aroma, very fresh yet powdery, perfect for spring, summer, and even autumn. It’s not tropical or beachy; rather, it’s like having a romantic dinner by the sea. It doesn’t smell of the ocean, but of the romance of waves gently hitting the coast on a summer rain day. On my skin, it lasts between 6 and 8 hours, though on clothes it extends to over 15 hours without issue (the sheets were soaked the next morning, just from rubbing against them). Very versatile: for everyday wear, dates, or family gatherings. It projects quite a bit but doesn’t overwhelm or cause olfactory fatigue. I confirm that after a few hours the trail isn’t as strong, but it remains delicious. A 10/10 in my collection.

  • Jorge Serna

LUNA ROSSA OCEAN: I have mixed feelings. I love the scent, but the longevity leaves much to be desired. If it were just about the smell, it would be one of the best blues out there today. A fresh citrus, spiced with pepper and marked by the house’s musk. Super rich from the opening to the dry down, even at the end it reminds me of the 90s. Unfortunately, it falls short. Outdoors, it’s noticeable for the first two or three hours, then drops to skin level to last a couple more. I think where it truly shines is in the office. If you’re looking for compliments, this is the one. Prada is one of my favourite houses. The Daniela Roche-Andrier era was brilliant, leaving an important legacy. Amber Pour Homme Intense, Luna Rossa Black, or the Infusions are some of her best works. Times are changing at Prada, and this Ocean line is a clear example of that.

  • Monty Phyton

Sparkling, addictive, and compliment-generating. A real challenge for the nose with mysterious notes. It doesn’t last long, much like the Eaux des Merveilles: a fresh citrus opening, a mossy woody base, and a spicy floral development… I’m captivated! 9/10.

  • A beautiful fragrance, slightly sweet and refined. It has that particular ‘something blue’, but to me, it smells mostly of soap. The first thing that comes to mind is Skip powder soap, haha. Moderate longevity and a low trail. Definitely for personal enjoyment. I liked it, but within the line, my favourite remains the Black…

  • On Skin Parfums

Hello, I picked this up for around £50 a year ago. This Prada EDT is one of my signature scents. It has that L’Homme base, but then it seems to burst into a ‘frizzy’ sea. I love how it evolves from soapy to clean with that aquatic touch, thanks to the lavender and ambroxan combo. On my dry skin, it lasts about six hours, which isn’t bad. It leaves an elegant trail; I prefer it to be more masculine, though it suits women well too. It works all year round, though in winter evenings I find I need to spray it a bit more. I would definitely recommend it and will buy it again.
