Invictus Parfum by Rabanne

It’s the best Invictus with the original DNA, but improved: it’s not as sharp and the opening is spectacular. It’s a pity it doesn’t last a bit longer, but the rest of the scent is classic Invictus, just slightly enhanced. It lasts and projects massively.

Invictus Parfum explodes with marine, aquatic, and ozonic facets, featuring a marked musky and aromatic character. It feels very soapy and talcum-like, thanks to the lavender combined with a salty woody base that gives it that vigorous identity. Personal history: It was one of my first purchases and I loved it; for a long time it was my favourite for everything, regardless of occasion or weather. Evolution of taste: However, after discovering more perfumes, my perception changed. Now I find it a bit sweet, almost cloying in certain situations. I’ve migrated towards citrus and sharp scents, seeking less density. Current verdict: Although I keep fondness for it, today I prefer other profiles. It still has great performance and unbeatable presence for anyone seeking that aquatic-sweet style, but it no longer fits what I’m looking for.

If I could only keep one perfume for a lifetime, I’d choose this, not because it’s my favourite, but for its incredible versatility. I struggle to find a situation, outfit, or age where it doesn’t look good. It’s a well-masculine, polished, and dense scent, soapy like those artisanal lavender soaps from street stalls. Added to its incredible performance in longevity and compliments.

I had very high expectations of it being ‘an Invictus three times improved’, but it stopped there. We went to try it with my partner and we found it rich but quite medicinal; it wasn’t what I imagined. It’s not bad, but I wouldn’t choose it.

The opening is an out-of-this-world experience; the downside is that after a few minutes it becomes a fairly normal fragrance. Still, I would buy it again.

Finally tried the original after hunting for clones, and what a surprise: it’s incredible. It’s a complete turnaround on the Invictus DNA, with marine and soapy touches—an exquisite composition that leaves no one indifferent, and I believe it’s the best in the line. Upon leaving, it smells sweet, almost like bubblegum, then marine, clean, and soapy notes emerge with soft woods in the base. It has everything a blue fragrance should, yet stands out above the rest; it’s an aroma I can’t imagine anyone not liking. Just a note: don’t expect anything niche or weird; it’s made to please and attract attention. ⌚Longevity: Long, 8-10 hours or more, excellent concentration. 💨Projection: Big, explosive for the first two hours, cutting above everyone, though it can be invasive if you don’t watch the sprays. 🍃Sillage: Heavy, leaving an incredible trail, standing out in both projection and sillage. I think it’s the best in my collection for performance and versatility. 😉Compliments: Plenty, it’s spectacular and youthful; it’s hard for someone not to ask what you’re wearing. ♠️Usage: It’s blue and versatile, ideal for parties or nights out where you want to be noticed; I wouldn’t use it as a daily scent, but if that’s your purpose, go ahead. If you’re hesitating to buy it, my word is it won’t disappoint. Best wishes.

I love wearing this fragrance during the day for the office to feel like a true champion; it gives me an aura of +10,000. It’s exquisite and clean, a very refined soap that smells of metro with a sweet lavender. It’s all quality. It’s a great fragrance and certainly one to add to any collection, or if you don’t know what to buy blind, this is the safe bet.

Hello, my opinion: at first glance, it smells exquisite, like marine soap with lavender. You can tell it’s quality, nothing synthetic, it lasts a long time but isn’t invasive. Try it before buying. Best wishes.

It’s my second favourite Invictus: fresh, sweet, and soapy, perfect for men. It generates plenty of compliments and is super versatile, a real gem. I bought it blind in 50ml and regret not grabbing the 100ml. I tried it properly today, and with my skin moist and good pH, it lasted over 12 hours projecting like a beast; even a colleague asked if I’d reapplied at the 8-hour mark. I was blown away.

Finally a serious, mature, and elegant Invictus. Goodbye to the smell of the classic Invictus, ergo the overly sweet bubblegum sensation, feeling 100% synthetic, (according to Flanker, sometimes more laurel, sometimes more mentholated, sometimes more marine or more vanilla-habaner, made in Puig-Rabanne). The Invictus aroma was a huge success a few decades ago. In fact, it’s already a totem of modern pop designer perfumery. Specifically aimed at young Western boys, middle class, between 16 and 30 years old (note: there are also some older ‘Peter Pan’ types who got hooked back in the day and still belong faithfully to the Invictus cult) who simply wanted a youthful, modern, attractive, molting, and seductive scent to separate them from their parents’ fougère or barber shop smell, and to help them hook up with any living creature in the place, preferably in a night club. What’s the problem with the classic aroma today? The usual one: nose fatigue from the staff, massification, nauseating wild flankering, cheap drugstore or gypsy market cloning, and massive sales success. This recent Invictus Parfum, with the eternal champion cup, redesigned and modernised now with straight profiles in its base, in its general aroma composition, has a good base from the previous Invictus Legend Flanker of 2019, for the fresh marine note (note, don’t get confused, it’s not a headstrong salty marine clone like Megamare, or some Azzaro Chrome, or some Armani AdG Profondo, or some Issey Miyake marine notes) and retro soapy, note without smelling like Mercadona shampoo or fabric softener. Here, the duo of French perfumers Anne Flipo (one of the best perfumers of the last decade) and Caroline Dumur have added nocturnality, masculinity, seriousness, elegance, maturity (for men 30-35 years and up, kids out, go for other flankers or One Million), an 80s retro touch with a contribution of lavender, violets (note it’s neither a clone nor a cheap inspiration of Dior Fahrenheit), woody notes and quite a bit of musk with the longevity and performance, 7-8 hours without problems, already customary at the Rabanne-Puig house. Pass on this Invictus Parfum if you already like another flanker, if you’re a hater of the saga, a hater of the Rabanne house (there are many), if you already have 200,000 fragrances and similar ones in your collection, if you prefer the minority, the rare, like smelling of Harley Davidson grease, Cambodian oud, Russian leather, Moroccan bazaar, the incense of the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, if you have cash to bore or if you’ve recently been blown away by the theatrical ‘waus’ and the fake, exaggerated nonsense some perfumery YouTubers let out, especially the most ‘viral’ ones, the posh-nob battalion, and logically you’ve already passed the mainstream vulgarity, populist, and you’ve turned to the weirdo niche only catchable on the internet or the 150-quid minimum niche… In those cases, NOT A CHANCE at this Rabanne chick. Rest of the world, smell it, try it, enjoy it, and judge for yourselves. Although Rabanne prices have skyrocketed in the last 5 years, this one is worth it. Did they invent gunpowder? No, that’s been invented since a Chinese guy decided to mix chemical components back in the 9th century of our era. Does it smell good? Damn right. Note, not the nasty laurel bubblegum smell of the original Invictus EDT. Recommend? Yes, try it on skin first and drop any stupid prejudices.

Smells like clean lavender with soap, a sweet and rich scent. I would buy it again.

This perfume doesn’t move me much; it smells soapy, like a grape soap, similar to Victory, but the cypress is barely felt, replaced by something unknown. It seems youthful or for a young adult for casual outings, perhaps the office, but it could smell like grape bubblegum and be weird there. It’s not suitable for the pub. From this family, I prefer Victory. Rating: 7.

The fragrance is good, but, like all current ones, it gets confused with similar scents. Then you don’t know if it’s BD Cobalt, Invictus Legend, or Y EDP; they all share that soapy DNA.

A fragrance with unique and characteristic accords: fresh, spiced, soapy, clean, woody on the inside, with an exquisite scent and a very long-lasting trail giving tropical fruity and earthy vibes. It’s sexy, elegant, and suitable for daily or evening wear, for school, work, nightlife, or important dates. Adaptable to all seasons. It compliments, sparks, evokes feeling, emotion, and memories, leaving a mark. It feels marine and ozonic, with violet, musk, sandalwood, and cashmere very unique, as well as lavender and pink pepper; that touch of essence is pleasant. Always Invictus, go for the safe bet and be unique; more so than with heavy use, it doesn’t feel burnt, making you original as it’s the best in the line. There’s also a subtle presence of myrtle, bergamot, lime, salt, and orange, something citrusy but without being uncomfortable.

Very rich daily wear perfume, clean and soapy with a sexy masculine touch. It has given me many compliments, although it’s not overly projecting; it does its job well. If you don’t want to complicate things and are looking for something easy to like but not the normal Invictus, this is the one indicated. Highly recommended.
