What a joy to find it! I thought it had been thrown away as I’ve had it for years, but it’s back and ridiculously cheap at around €10; the value for money is unbeatable. It’s a fragrance made with love, feeling modern and youthful despite being over 20 years old; it’s cheerful, refreshing and full of energy. Its scent is unmistakable, which is vital in a market where everything smells the same and is quickly forgotten; Da has its own personality and you can tell it was crafted by a great perfumer. It’s not just another run-of-the-mill citrus, it has a hook and you recognise it instantly among others like Eau de Rochas or Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert by Bulgari, all in that citrus-aromatic line with a base of musk, sandalwood and amber. To me, it smells delicious and hasn’t been reformulated: an initially slightly alcoholic opening that fades quickly, leaving a strong scent with good projection. It’s fresh, citrusy and spiced, with coriander and cardamom that I adore alongside the citrus notes; I don’t detect rose or honey, but rather ambered white flowers and sandalwood that combine perfectly. As an Eau de Toilette it has a good trail and longevity, although I do reapply every three or four hours, and I love that because in the heat colognes and EDTs are made to perfume and refresh, and I find pleasure in reapplying them if they last decently, unlike others that don’t last two hours and cost a fortune. I absolutely love it! I’ve bought several backup bottles in case it disappears again, at least I’ll enjoy a few springs and summers. By the way, it has nothing to do with Anaïs Anaïs or Trussardi My Scent; these are more formal florals without citrus or spices, Trussardi is a floral amber with heliotrope, lilacs and vanilla, very romantic, and Anaïs Anaïs has a warm, woody base with incense, patchouli, vetiver and leather; none resemble Da or each other.

Here it doesn’t happen, it has personality and you can tell it was crafted by a great perfumer. It’s not just any citrus, it has a hook and you recognise it among others like Eau de Rochas or the one by Ferre, all in that citrus line with a base of musk, sandalwood and amber. One of my first fragrances, a gift from my mother for my birthday. I remember the excitement of having my own bottle, an essence to apply when I was ‘dressing up’ and that made me feel older… Now I don’t recall its scent, I suppose it was fresh and youthful, but I never saw it anywhere else since.
