Fresh and green, with an unusual note that initially caught my attention but, in my opinion, offers nothing of substance. The longevity and projection are woefully poor for a fragrance of this calibre. I’m usually more positive, but here I detected something acidic and, at one stage, rancid—an untidy scent. It’s far inferior to other gems from the house; thanks to the sample, I avoided a disappointing purchase. On my skin, it smells odd and unpleasant, a discontinued classic I won’t miss. Perfect for annoying neighbours who return silently in the early hours or a jealous rival, as the lady will throw herself into your arms, forgetting him entirely.

Something strange happens with this discontinued perfume: despite sharing almost no notes, it reminded me of parts of Opium pour Homme, but in a softer version with that Italian air. It begins with non-acidic citrus, tarragon, and that fragrant green note I believe is tomato leaf. Half an hour in, the soft florals, rose and geranium, blend with the incense which eventually mixes with sandalwood and a delicate tobacco. After 10 hours, a powdery patchouli with a hint of amber. It’s a beautiful mid-90s fragrance that leaves a sense of cleanliness and discreet freshness, very balanced with natural notes, a spicy but soft touch. I find it timeless and perfect for the office: moderate trail but lasting over 12 hours, though in the end it stays closer to the skin. Ideal for intermediate seasons and for daytime.
