It’s like an autumn afternoon in France, surrounded by barrels and baskets of fruit. The trail is a warm, sophisticated embrace. The only flaw is longevity: for such richness, it should last longer. In a niche market, fading quickly is disappointing. It’s a fleeting luxury, like the last sip of cognac. Still, it’s a unique experience in the gourmand world. Dried fruits and spices with cognac are a rare profile. It’s not pure sugar, but a refined sweetness, almost fermented. The woods add classic depth. It manages to be sweet without being obvious, without excess vanilla, but with mature notes like dried grapes. Although it doesn’t last long, it’s addictive and requires reapplication. If you’re looking for something similar but longer-lasting, try Baccarat Rouge 540 or Ambre Narguilé by Hermès, or By the Fireplace by Maison Margiela for a smoky touch. 1270 is for those seeking something rich and sensory, sophisticated but not ostentatious, ideal for small pleasures like a glass of cognac. But its lack of longevity can be frustrating given the price. Better to try it in decants for special occasions.

Perfect for cocooning yourself in October, that indefinable, dusty month. You live in uncertainty, under a grey sky that can’t decide between faded blue and opaque white. October deserves to be captured; it advances and shifts tones that are lost if you’re not paying attention. 1270 smells fantastically autumnal and is one of Frapin’s best: delicious, high quality, and complex. It must be noted that the trail is poor for its price, so you need to overapply; the projection is discreet, which is unforgivable given what it offers. I perceive dried fruits, plums, resins, honey, and a hint of cognac perfectly assembled, pure craftsmanship that makes you feel greedy and a little tipsy, all very balanced without harshness. The spicy raisins soon turn into sweet fruit with spices, excellent. The woods are present all the time, with no gaps in the composition. It smells great, but the power is low; it’s only noticeable up close if you spray it generously. If it had more punch, it would be on my shopping list, so better to look towards Laudano Nero, which is different but punchy and long-lasting.

The 1270 by Frapin is a delicious gourmand fragrance; the moment you smell it, you can clearly tell it’s niche due to the quality it exudes. Its ingredients are perfectly balanced and embraced by a refined, delicious oud. It’s sweet but not cloying, completely unisex. I see it as a fragrance for personal enjoyment and close encounters. It doesn’t last long, its longevity is scarce, and the projection is medium to low, staying close to the skin.

I tried this with an 8 ml decant from a niche subscription. How important it is to give things a second chance. The first time I thought it was masculine and almost gave it to my partner, but it’s perfectly unisex and we shared it. It comes out very fruity, then blends into an alicorade dessert with fruits, nuts, spices, and cocoa. It’s sweet, warm, and delicious, an atypical gourmand. I find it addictive and try to wear it whenever possible. I love how it smells and it has a decent trail. Pity about the price and that it doesn’t last more than five hours on my skin. Scent 10/10, Longevity 6/10, Projection 7/10, Value for money 3/10, Versatility 8/10, Packaging 6/10. Would I buy it again? No.

It comes out very fruity, especially the pineapple. Then you notice the nuts, hazelnut, and lots of cocoa. The dry-down is sweeter thanks to the honey, but without being cloying. Contrary to what was said about projection and longevity, on my skin it hasn’t behaved badly. Good longevity and fair projection; I can smell it without any problem. A totally unisex gourmand, more recommended for cold weather. Recommended if you have plenty of money to spare.

Frapin achieves perfection by mixing pineapple, nuts, and spices into a wonderful perfume you wouldn’t believe carries all those elements. Like the others by Frapin, it evokes rum, but this one is fresher and fruitier, sweet. It reminds me of peaches in syrup over a young, sensual, slightly oriental masculine base. I’ve never heard anything like it. Another different perfume, for people with exquisite taste and a refined sense of smell.

What a pity it lasts so little for the price it has and how well it smells.
