Agua del Sol by Escada

Yes, I also wonder what on earth I’m doing testing this in the middle of winter, but I’d had a sample for months and thought I’d open it today. It was like hearing Mecano’s ‘Hawaii-Bombay’. I had a lot of fun finding AnaMar’s review comparing it to watermelon chewing gum because it reminds me of that too, but unlike her, I smell it more at the opening; then the canned pineapple note appears, nothing like a fresh, ripe pineapple. In its dry-down, the mix of tropical fruits is noticeable, and it can’t be denied that it’s a summer, holiday-style fragrance, more bearable after a few minutes than the cloying opening. As for the packaging, which has its charm, it has too many flowers and not enough fruit. As a summer escape, it seems appropriate: it’s like leaving the big city and catching a plane to a paradisiacal destination where you can shamelessly swap sober clothes for a Hawaiian shirt and flip-flops. Zero elegance, 100% tropical-effortless.

Pineapple, pineapple, and more pineapple. This smells like Sugus pineapple chewing gum, and the curious thing is that it doesn’t actually contain pineapple. I heard about it in a perfumery because I love Escada’s summer editions and wanted to see if I should order it, but to be honest, it has disappointed me. If you absolutely adore the smell of pineapple, go ahead, ‘Agua del Sol’ will be a hit with you. I won’t be buying it; I’ll stick with Born in Paradise or Turquoise Summer (the previous summer editions).

I have around a thousand perfumes; I bought this blindly because I trust you, praying I’d like it as they are 100ml, hahaha. It reminds me a lot of the Ralph Lauren 2 fragrance, but this one has more presence, more pineapple flavour. It’s very delicious; I don’t know if it’s my thing, but it doesn’t feel overwhelming. It’s a soft, sweet, pineapple scent.

Exactly what I’m looking for: a perfume that smells of pineapple, of summer, of the Caribbean. From my experience, if you’re going to buy a perfume or any beauty treatment, it’s best to go alone or with a friend. Because boyfriends, husbands, children… they’re a bore. And what might seem like a wonder to you, they won’t think so.

Super rich, truly, but zero sunshine. Smells like all the fruits under the sun mixed with sugar; the longevity is moderate. I’d use it in winter or at night as it’s very sweet; never on a sunny day, I’m afraid of getting a headache. Beware of hangovers or pregnant women, it would be unbearable.

I’m using it now and it has a very intense fruity-tropical aroma, totally like tropical fruit and citrus ice cream. I find it delicious and very similar to the DKNY apricot ice cream perfume. Certainly, Escada’s summer versions are the best intense and fruity fragrances.

It’s the second Escada fragrance with a Spanish name; in 1997 they created ‘Que viva Escada’, which I don’t know, and in 2016 they launched ‘Agua del Sol’. I’m eager to try it; I’m a fan of summer editions because they are unique and ethereal.

I got it at a great price. I usually enjoy Escada perfumes for summer, and this one pleased me greatly; it reminds me of a pineapple sorbet. It’s nothing extraordinary, but for summer, it seems perfect.

It smells like everything you’d want to sip on a beach during a hot summer. It’s like a cocktail on your skin, but not at all cloying.

I absolutely love it! It’s cheerful, original and screams summer.

Delicious; I hope Havana Tonka extends the longevity.
