Starts with a pleasant oud that doesn’t overpower the rest. It doesn’t smell of pure citrus; those fruits add sweetness. The rose is fresh, nothing like old-fashioned hairspray. Sandalwood and patchouli round it off with a sweet rose cream. Leather and plush musk make it unisex and coherent, though more suited to 30+ than younger people.

Explosive and very Montale, full-on rose and oud. Not for everyone, but it lasts 10 hours on skin and days on clothes. Forget it if it’s over 20 degrees. Value for money is okay; with four sprays, it lasts years. It’s not versatile, so try before you buy. To me, it’s brilliant, nothing like this in designer fragrances.

Repulsive perfume. Chemical opening, obvious rose, and an abominable animal/medicinal oud that smells of ammonia, sharp and aggressive. Unpleasant, it’s a flashback to the perfumes of rich ladies in the 80s and 90s for church. Flamboyant, potent and ostentatious. The longevity and strength are enough to kill an army.

Top and base are of musky, woody rose. The pyramidal notes are poorly arranged for me, as Moon Aoud is its flanker. It’s lovely in the first 30 minutes, but I only recommend it if you love the rose world, because there’s nothing behind it.
