Descripción

Boss Bottled Bold Citrus by Hugo Boss is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. Launched in 2025, this creation was designed by Honorine Blanc and Sophie Labbé. Its opening unfolds a vibrant lemon alongside a zesty lime and a refreshing bergamot. The heart of the composition reveals the warmth of elemi resin and the florality of bourbon geranium. To finish, the base notes offer a solid and persistent foundation of vetiver and patchouli.

  • It’s a Boss Bottle Unlimited without the steroid edge. Smells good, nothing outside the traditional.

  • Thanks for the info, Moncho. I’ll stick with my Boss Bottle Unlimited so I don’t spend money on a flanker that smells the same.

It doesn’t follow the steps of any BOTTLED fragrance; it has a distinct and recognisable aroma. The opening features a very marked lemon, acidic, bright and effervescent. It reminds me of Genesse Sportman or Dior Homme Cologne. Fresh, green, citrusy, well-structured, clean and rounded. During the dry-down, subtle spices emerge, perhaps pink pepper or ginger; the elemi resin is understated, but the geranium is present. It evolves well, not soapy or creamy, with a citrus base and aromatic touches. The bottle is beautiful with a gradient green and bold ‘BOLD CITRUS’ lettering, featuring a luxury atomiser. Longevity: projects for an hour and a half, maximum 6-7 hours on skin. Best suited for spring/summer/daytime, informal, daily use, very fresh.

  • It reminds me very much of the limited edition from a couple of years ago, PACIFIC; I’d have to compare them side by side, certainly not Fiero by Casamorati, but no way, this one has a sweet touch, just as it doesn’t resemble L’eau d’Issey at all, and I can’t compare it with the Unlimited as I haven’t tried it.

  • I’ve been wearing it for three weeks and it’s a disappointment. I respect the opinions that describe it as ‘Lemon Cake’ or compare it to Eros Energy. In my case, the citrus lasts a mere breath, and the dry-down, which is very close to skin scent, has a mentholated note (which also exists in the opening) accompanied by elemi resin; the other notes are completely absent. If you’re looking for a lemony fragrance or one with a citrus presence throughout its duration, this isn’t it. I know mint isn’t listed, but I perceive it. For me, the only fragrance that resembles it slightly is ‘Eau Sauvage Extreme’, having the latter perceived as better quality but with the same lamentable performance. It would be good if Fragrantica users were more responsible when reviewing, especially in the ‘reminds me of’ section, which is nonsense. We are a community and we need to help each other. Tested in heat, as temperatures are high in Marbella right now. Longevity: 3 hours, then it’s a skin scent.

  • Perhaps no one shares this opinion, but the dry-down reminds me of Montblanc Legend Spirit or one I owned before, but a very strong resemblance. I like the opening and heart phase more than the dry-down where it loses much of its balsamic accords.

I must say it doesn’t follow the footsteps of any BOTTLED; it has a very particular and recognisable aroma. In the opening, it has a very marked, acidic, bright, and effervescent lemon that keeps getting brighter. It slightly reminds me of Genesse Sportman, or more recently, Dior Homme Cologne. It’s a fresh, green, citrusy scent, well-constructed, clean, rounded, and distinct from others. In the dry-down, some light spice notes are added; it could be pink pepper or ginger, I’m not sure; the elemi resin is barely marked, but the geranium is present. The scent evolves well, without becoming soapy or creamy; it’s a citrus with aromatic touches. The bottle is very beautiful, with a gradient green, with the letters BOLD CITRUS on the side, and the atomiser is top-notch, unlike others. As for its longevity, it projects for around an hour and a half; with a maximum longevity of between 6 or 7 hours on skin. Preferably for spring/summer/day, it’s an informal scent for daily use, very fresh.

  • I’ve worn it for three weeks and it’s been a disappointment. I respect opinions comparing it to ‘Lemon Cake’ or Eros Energy, but in my case, the citrus lasts only a breath, and the dry-down, close to the skin, has a mentholated note (present in the opening) with elemi resin; the other notes shine by their absence. The only one it resembles slightly is ‘Eau Sauvage Extreme’, which has better quality but the same lamentable performance. Fragrantica users should be more responsible with ‘reminds me of…’, as it’s often nonsense. We’re a community and should help each other. Tested in heat in Marbella. Longevity: 3 hours, then close to the skin.

A citrus fragrance for spring and summer. Lemon, resins, subdued sweetness… it has a certain lemon cake aroma. It’s not an Allure Edition Blanche nor a Dior Homme Sport… but it has similarities and recalls them in certain phases. A fresh, citrusy Boss Bottled that follows the reference line of the Eau de Parfum created by the same perfumer and largely overlooked by the community, being a fragrance closer to the original than the flankers of the Elixires. More than 24 hours later, on blotter, the base of the fragrance confirms its similarity to Boss Bottled EDP, following the line created by perfumer Honorine Blanc who created Boss Bottled Eau de Parfum. Sophie Labbé created Boss Bottled Pacific and both also created Boss Bottled Marine, from which this version emerges with more citrus and reasonable similarities.

  • I tried it, which will only be available in Argentina soon. The aroma is delightful, simply different intensities of lemon, lime, and a touch of wood; and like the eternal blessing of Boss Bottled, it fades after 4-5 hours; I suppose citrus notes don’t last long. Here, one shouldn’t be cheap; apply generously and reapply frequently to enjoy it. A 200ml presentation arrived here to apply with gusto, but given its performance, I wouldn’t pay for this size. It’s a pity because it really smells very good.

  • For me, it’s not a fresh, spring, or summer fragrance. The citrus is only present at the very beginning and not even for five minutes. It’s an autumnal, resinous, and dirty scent. However, it is long-lasting on the skin for many hours, with vetiver and patchouli dominating almost from the first hour.

  • cpiccioni08

I bought a 200ml bottle that was on offer here in Argentina for less than the cost of a 100ml one. It’s a fresh fragrance at first but then sweetens up after the first 30 minutes. It projects well for the first hour or so, then stays within a bubble of about half a metre, finishing at skin scent for a good 8 hours. It’s not a novel scent, but I understand it fulfils its purpose; for daily office wear, I think it works very well, especially in spring and summer.

I bought a 200ml bottle on promo in Argentina for less than a 100ml. It’s fresh at first and sweetens after 30 minutes. Projects well for the first hour, then settles into a bubble about half a metre away and fades to skin scent for around eight hours. It’s not groundbreaking but delivers; ideal for the office, spring and summer.

  • For those who claim it smells like Eros Energy, please stop comparing things that aren’t alike.

Boss Bottled Citrus Bold is a citrus, aromatic, and woody fragrance. It opens with a citrus and green note, featuring something that smells like ginger (likely elemi resin) and a bitter green base reminiscent of sage and geranium. This initial phase is very pleasant and will surely be loved by those who enjoy citrus and aromatic scents. Over time, the green and resinous accords intensify, and the woods, such as patchouli and vetiver, become more noticeable. For me, this fragrance can be worn year-round as it maintains a balance between freshness and woodiness, although there are certainly better options in winter. I would wear it during the day at the office or for casual outings. Regarding longevity, it stayed on me for nearly 8 hours, with a noticeable sillage for the first hour before gradually settling to skin scent. I think it’s a good launch and, being a limited edition, it’s probably worth grabbing before it’s gone. However, I recommend not buying it blind; try it first before deciding if you want it.

  • Hello, honestly I was a bit disappointed by this fragrance, it could be due to high expectations. -Scent: It’s a masculine citrus, but very light; only at the beginning do I notice the citrus and I at least can’t distinguish what specific citrus I’m smelling, but it’s there. -Longevity: Scarce, lasts 3-4 hours, at least in my case. -Trail: Very scarce, I struggled to smell my own perfume and this never happens to me. -Age: I don’t think it has an assigned age, but it would suit someone 25 and above better than someone under 25. -Compliments: I’ve tested it a total of 3 times, it’s impossible to give a rating, but due to the longevity and trail I don’t think it has good performance. -Climate: Being so weak, it’s for warm climates. -Occasions: My opinion is so negative that I wouldn’t use it for any occasion sincerely.

  • The opening is an impact of green citrus, makes me think of a lime, which lasts at least an hour where gradually the vetiver enters along with a floral touch. This vetiver gives the woody touch. Excellent its performance the first hour with a notable intensity until the third. From then on it recedes but is felt at all times. On average 6 to 8 hours is its longevity, although I would reapply at the 4 just to feel the citrus again. After 10 hours on clothes a sweet citrus/woody sensation remains that immediately evokes tonka bean for me. Extremely versatile, compliments are received, easy to like. Another highlighted point is that it doesn’t resemble any and breaks away from current olfactory canons. Emotional memory leads us to some deodorant scent from the late 80s or mid 90s. Highly recommended.

Boss Bottled Citrus Bold is citrusy, aromatic and woody. The opening is citrus and green, with a ginger-like scent (probably elemi resin) and a bitter green note similar to sage and geranium. Very pleasant for citrus lovers. Then the green and resinous notes intensify, giving way to woods, patchouli and vetiver. Wearable all year due to its fresh/wood balance, though there are better options in winter. Perfect for daytime in the office or casual outings. Longevity: around eight hours, noticeable trail for the first hour then skin scent. A good limited edition launch; try it before buying.

  • Daniipntr

Tested with two sprays on skin. Simple fragrance with two predominant notes: lemon and woods. It doesn’t resemble Eros Energy. For older people, ideal as a daily fragrance and for hot periods.

  • Fraganceando_madrid

Citrus and resinous fragrance. Comes out with a potent lemon and gradually evolves towards woods and resins. It has a totally nineties and rather mature air. Longevity, projection and trail are contained but correct, at least on my skin. It could be a signature fragrance, it’s very versatile. Can someone explain what it resembles to Eros Energy? I’m baffled…

  • Hello, honestly, it disappointed me, perhaps due to high expectations. -Scent: Masculine citrus but very faint; I only notice the citrus at the beginning and can’t distinguish which citrus. -Longevity: Poor, 3-4 hours. -Sillage: Very poor, I struggled to smell it on myself. -Age: No specific age assigned, better suited for 25+ rather than younger. -Compliments: Tested three times, impossible to give a score, but given the longevity and sillage, I don’t think it performs well. -Climate: Being weak, it’s for warm climates. -Occasions: My opinion is so negative that I wouldn’t use it for any occasion.

A citrus and resinous fragrance. Opens with a potent lemon and evolves into woods and resins. It has a mature, nineties vibe. Longevity, projection and trail are contained but adequate on my skin. Could work as a signature scent and is very versatile. Who does it remind you of Eros Energy? I’m baffled…

It seems the lab got carried away; it smells like cheap plastic and is a complete disaster.

  • Absolutely brilliant and a hit at work today. Everyone loved it, especially women aged 21-38, who expressed genuine surprise with a ‘WOW’. The opening is exquisite: bright citrus, resinous, slightly earthy, with good body. Spectacular for a walk or the office. Smells like a well-groomed, formal yet sociable man. Very versatile. I emptied my 200ml bottle to spray it without feeling repulsed. Highly recommended. Weekly update: in the middle of work, three hours later, despite sweat and heat, I felt a citrus scent with body emerging, enhanced significantly. Incredible. Received many compliments. A mid-range gem. Three-week update: it wore me out, so I exchanged it. I like it a lot and might get it again, but not in 200ml format; it’s too much. Verdict: a real favourite, masculine, makes you look put-together and adds presence. Beautiful.

  • I like it very much and today at the work launch it was a total success, especially with the women in the office (21-38 years); ALL of them loved it and they told me ‘WOW, what a lovely smell’ with genuine surprise. The opening is exquisite: a bright, resinous citrus, slightly earthy, with body. It becomes spectacular for everyday life, walking or working. It smells like a well-groomed man, slightly formal, presentable and sociable. I feel it’s very versatile. I bought the 200ml bottle to spray without disgust. Highly recommended! Update after a week: I was in maintenance mode, I had applied it three hours ago and with the sweat and heat I felt how a full-bodied citrus sensation was detaching from my body, it enhanced a lot. Incredible. I’ve received many compliments at work. Mid-table goal. Update after three weeks: it started to tire me out so I exchanged it for other perfumes. Anyway, I like it a lot and maybe later I’ll have it again, but not in 200ml format, it seems too much. Final verdict: pleasant, masculine, you look dressed and give presence. Beautiful.

  • I don’t know how to recommend this fragrance. It has poor longevity, doesn’t project, isn’t fresh or warm, nor clean or blue. It has no identity, proposes nothing new and isn’t memorable. No one will remember it for its scent; if you get a compliment, it will be because they like you, not for the aroma. It won’t be your first impulse in the collection. It will go to the back of the wardrobe until you forget the guilt of having spent the money. There are many options on the market that surpass it, even at a better price.

  • Tested on blotting paper, I understand the references to the similarity with Eros Energy in the citrus opening; however, in Citrus Gold the opening is a bit creamy and more lasting. For about thirty minutes it earns the title of citrus. Nevertheless, I don’t see it as a fresh citrus perfume, because as it dries down, notes emerge that can become overwhelming with much heat. The downside is that, in my opinion, it strays from the Boss Bottled line and in the dry down it brought Coach for Men to mind. I was left puzzled by how similar they are (always on paper). Of course, it smells good, will please and the trail and longevity are adequate, but anyone buying it as a fan of this line won’t find the similarities one would expect in a flanker.

  • On Skin Parfums

Hello, I picked up this Boss Bottled Citrus in a physical store in 2025 for around 60€. It smells sparkling, citrusy, resinous and green; if you sniff it with caution, it reminds me a bit of luxury hotel scents. It has that nineties vibe but modernised. Watch out, I own the Versace Eros Energy (the yellow one) and I love it, but they are two different things: although both have lemon, they don’t smell the same. The Versace is a citrus bomb that then cleans up and shines, with that Italian seventies feel. This Boss takes a different path. It’s ideal for spring and summer. I saw a reviewer say it’s not meant to be your only fragrance as it gets tiring; I’d say you need at least five in your collection. Pleasant and easy to wear, but repetitive if you use it all the time. On my dry skin it lasts a maximum of 5-6 hours, on clothes up to 10. Personally, within the Boss line, it’s one of my favourites without being one of those heavy winter ones. I do recommend it, but test it first and let it dry for 30 minutes before deciding.

  • The opening smells too much like Eros Energy by Versace. Boss Bottled Citrus brings energetic citrus, slightly sweetened. There are many yellow or green bubblegums that smell just like this perfume. When it dries down, you notice the vetiver. Perfect for hot, fresh, sunny days; works in the office (although there are better options) and for all ages. Innovative? No. Easy to like? Yes. Versatile? Quite a bit, but not for winters or rain. Recommended? Only if you don’t have another citrus or sweet perfume. Price? A bit pricey for what it offers.
