Cendres de Thé is incredibly discreet on my skin, although the opening is a bit aggressive with that alcohol which fades quickly. It then releases a woody and cardamom note, followed by roses reminiscent of niche houses like Montale or Lalique, but with their own nuances. The cardamom-infused tea is very noticeable; it’s not smoky, but rather dry and powdery, somewhere between black tea and tobacco. However, it has a very woody and greasy base, akin to tar or petroleum. My first impression was exactly that: tar or oil. My colleague says it smells like Olfactive Woody Mood, but on my skin it takes a different path. In short, it’s very faint on me, and if you compare it to Montale, it’s like a diluted version, but not across the entire range.
