It is a fougère where lychee and ambergris dominate, without the animal edge others mention; it smells pleasant and simple, unisex with feminine fruity touches. Yet as a niche fragrance, the quality and originality do not match the price; I’d rather buy three designer scents. It is Zoologist’s most disappointing launch. I bought this Christmas set at my local perfumerie. I have tried several from this house and this is the second tier. At first, Dodo smells like a birdcage or guano, very aggressive. Then it settles into a green, astringent, fruity scent with fern, moss, and lychee. Finally, the most wearable part: very mossy, with an animal touch and geranium, making it a vintage masculine fougère. It projects strongly for the first hour before settling into a medium cloud. It was an interesting artistic exercise, but I do not like wearing it for daily life. Who wants to smell like bird droppings? If you do not notice the uric smell at the start, it could suit a serious man in mild weather, but I see no occasion to wear it; it is more for personal enjoyment.
