March is the month for price hikes, as is usual in the cosmetic industry. And taking advantage of the Pisuerga passing through Valladolid, they bring us the new launches. The novelty impulse makes us forget the abuse of raising prices by 9 or 10 euros a year, as LVMH brands do. In the case of Emporio Armani, part of the L’Oréal group, the issues are purely production-related. An industry dependent on factories in the Far East brings logistical risks due to the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, which have left them without materials or fuel to manufacture anything from a cap to the atomiser nozzle. There was a time in my homeland where houses like Loewe, Puig, or Myrurgia manufactured nationally, bottles, boxes, and accessories, and even supplied foreign firms like Coty with the help of Parera España in Barcelona. Hence the importance of returning to proximity. Without further preamble, this new flanker of Stronger With You arrives after repositioning Armani’s line, which was empty due to stock problems. Amber goes for the ‘unisex’ trend with a warm and spicy structure, clean lavender notes, a less alcoholic development, and a sweet base where Madagascar vanilla is key for its sustainability. The dry-down highlights the solar tone of the amber, though lavender keeps it in check. It’s a translucent fougère, less aggressive but very solid in trail and longevity.
Just because you haven’t tried it doesn’t mean it’s impossible; it’s only just out, so don’t play the innocent.

The fact that it’s not yet on the market doesn’t mean they haven’t sent units to influencers. Anyone who buys without trying it or solely based on reviews from people with gifts or commercial interests risks their money. Especially with flankers that add fewer novelties and repeat clichéd formulas.

This limited launch left me indifferent. It has the same base as SWY Oud, which is a flanker of the original. Unlike that one, the oud justifies the flanker by adding noticeable nuances and differences. Here, there’s hardly any difference from the original, perhaps with the vanilla slightly boosted by the ‘amber’. Longevity and trail are very weak. Moreover, up close it smells like something I dislike, probably that ‘animalic’ touch in the pyramid (though it’s not noticeable in the air). It would be unisex, for less warm climates and more daytime, very casual. It lacks a lot to be recommended, especially at 100€ for 100ml. For me, it hasn’t been a good limited flanker.
Spectacular wonder; the amber is very noticeable and is the main accord that always lingers. It’s more sensual than the other SWYs. The amber, vanilla, and touch of sandalwood make it a perfume bomb. I have two bottles and don’t use them much because they don’t appear, but they are impressive. I love the fixation; they last a fortune and the projection is decent: strong at first, then it becomes a bubble, which seems perfect for intimate dates. Whether it’s unisex, I only notice it on the wearer because the amber loaded with sandalwood and the lavender that controls it make it totally masculine. The vanilla is felt but less than in other notes. It has the SWY DNA but goes beyond; for me, it’s one of the best and my favourite. I’ve tried all except the Parfum, and this is better. Ideal for cool afternoons, night, and autumn. Try it first; the amber can be heavy, but in my taste, it’s spectacular.

I think Amber and Sandalwood are my favourites of this line. Their use is preferable in autumn and winter, cool climates, night outs, or romantic dates. The longevity exceeded 12 hours on me with a good trail. A lovely fragrance and amber-coloured bottle; smells good on the wearer and others. Try it and decide.

The scent is very pleasant, less sweet than others in the line but still sweet thanks to the evident vanilla, although better balanced, similar to the sandalwood version. In fact, I think both Amber and Sandalwood are my favourites from this line. Its preferred use is in autumn and winter, cool climates, night outings, or romantic dates. Longevity was over 12 hours with a good trail. A beautiful fragrance and a lovely amber-coloured bottle; the scent is pleasing both to the wearer and those around them, so I invite you to try it and decide.
Smells brutal, like Azzaro The Most Wanted but with sweet, spiced steroids. Not bad, but for summer it’s cloying and overpowering. Lasts long and projects massively. If you like this sugary DNA, buy it.
A elixir, I’d say. Night fragrances, straight-up amber. Projects that it disgusts, long-lasting, fills you with compliments. Forbidden in summer.
