It’s a wonder. If I like Érose, this one fascinates me. It feels very feminine. At first it’s warm but with a fresh tingle and a soft sweetness I can’t quite explain. Then comes creamy, crisp nard, a flower I adore, and a musky base with warm sandalwood, like rice pudding. It’s not heavy, invasive, or tiring. It’s not a typical gourmand; it’s original, addictive and sexy. I love sophisticated and different scents; this is curious because, even in the dry down, the woods retain a green touch. One of my new favourites. I’d wear it at night in fresh or cold weather. On my skin, it’s a delight.
I was looking for something like Blanche Bête, but it has nothing to do with it. I don’t know if it’s skin chemistry or simply that I don’t like it, but my expectations were high. The problem is that dense, creamy and very sweet opening, which is strange and unidentifiable. I thought it might be Amyris wood because of its resinous quality, but it smells more like sandalwood and doesn’t give me that sensation. It’s odd, potent and fails as a gourmand. It blends with something citrusy-green and ginger, creating an even stranger scent that I don’t enjoy. After an hour, that part fades and I enjoy more the woody-lactonic facet with citrus, which I do like. But it doesn’t make up for the opening. For me, it hasn’t been it.
