It didn’t suit me; I dabbed it on my finger and it felt rough. It keeps well in the cupboard and, to its credit, lasts and projects strongly. In the end, it’s a matter of taste.
I was looking for something different from the Fig di Amalfi by Aqua di Parma, but this has nothing to do with it. It reminds me more of a fig jam than anything green. It’s sweet, very intense and lovely, but I don’t think it will suit me.
I tried it in the perfumerie and hope to buy it soon. It bears a strong resemblance to Hermès Jardin en Méditerranée. For us Argentines, struggling with the dollar and elitist policies, this is an affordable alternative. The Hermès is more complex, with a tart opening and woods that give it depth, but this Solinote does not fall behind in delicacy and beauty.
