Descripción
Fou d'Absinthe by L'Artisan Parfumeur is an aromatic fougère fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2006, this composition was created by perfumer Olivia Giacobetti. The top notes feature absinthe, accompanied by angelica and blackcurrant. The heart reveals a spiced and woody blend of star anise, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, pepper, and patchouli. To finish, the base notes offer a rustic and spiritual touch with pine needles, balsam fir, and frankincense.

Poor longevity; barely noticeable close to the skin after a few hours, and that’s despite testing the eau de parfum. For me, it’s totally dispensable, especially at this price.
Well. I see similarities with Quorum Silver and Opium, hehe. They share notes in the pyramid. I’m surprised it doesn’t list wood, because that nutmeg note smells very woody, almost identical to other perfumes carrying Iso E Super. The incense helps too; it’s dry, nothing smoky. Then there’s a sweet touch, like amber, which is mainly star anise. It gives it a bit of a kick; it’s not boring thanks to the patchouli nuances that show up after a while. The dominant feature is that green, foresty accord of pine and fir, competing with the spices. It might remind you of Fille Aiguilles, but without the annoying pen note from Lutens. The truth is, it’s very good, the price isn’t too high, and it performed well, which I didn’t expect from that nose.
Smells incredible, but the trail and longevity are an absolute disaster. It had the wood notes to be a classic, but they let it down; at this price, don’t even think about buying it. If you grab a decant, test it first: you’ll smell how wonderful it is, then complain about how fleeting it is. It smells of fresh absinthe, yes, but without the bite. Anise, incense, maybe patchouli. Because it fades so quickly, everything is lost. If you want to make it last, spray it on clothes, but you have to use a lot, which hurts the wallet. It works in any weather, though in the cold it comes across as more green. What a shame.
