I’ve worn it in winter and spring. Among Massimo Dutti’s classic men’s fragrances, this is the one that deviates most, especially at the outset. While MD 1985 is citrusy and sparkling, and MD 1985 Fresh smells of the sea (like Aqua di Giò), this one begins with citrus notes before quickly turning woody and musky. After that, there’s little change: it loses its strength until it becomes skin-scented after 70–80 minutes. The final scent is pleasant, reminiscent of incense-wood, yet very faint and barely noticeable above 25 degrees. The first hour lifts your spirits, but by an hour and a half, you start to wonder if it’s worth it.
I tested it in winter and spring. Among Massimo Dutti’s classic men’s fragrances, this is the one that deviates most, especially at first. The final scent is pleasant, like incense wood, but very faint and barely noticeable if it’s over 25 degrees. The first hour cheers you up, but by an hour and a half, you start to wonder if it’s worth it.
An option that breaks away from the classic, available in 85ml with a decent price and presentation. It lasts well on the skin with average projection, which is standard nowadays. It has a spiced character and a woody contrast; if you like Mystery Oud by Daniel Josier or Noir by Tom Ford, this fragrance will bring back memories of those notes, thanks to its carrot seed. It’s ‘different’ without being so, staying away from sweetness with a more mature tone.
