Hiris by Hermès

At first, it smells of dry iris, but soon turns creamy. The longevity is short, as everyone says, which is a pity because the scent is very pleasant. It’s clean, neat and minimalist, yet endearing because it blends with the warmth of the skin, creating a close aura that you notice with every movement.

It’s a velvety, enveloping and luminous Italian iris. Working with iris is difficult because it can end up dry and powdery, but here it is well assembled. It smells Mediterranean, feminine, yet a man can wear it with classic style. It suits a woman in a jacket and shirt, ideal for work. The iris stands out from start to finish, velvety and ethereal, very well harmonised by an amber that gives it superb longevity. It doesn’t smell vintage or overly youthful; it’s perfect for any age wanting to make an elegant, classic impression. The harmony with cedar and honey gives it a friendly character and a memory effect. It’s easy to identify and remember. Note: in summer, it clashes due to a lack of freshness; it’s pure, warm velvet, better suited to cooler temperatures. Classic, for any age and gender, with a very Italian cut. A good Hermes perfume.

The Hiris by Hermes is a lovely fragrance. I have the current presentation with the typical transparent bottle of the brand, not in blue as shown in the photo. On my skin, it’s a woody iris with an almost bitter touch. I detect no sweetness from the honey at all. I wouldn’t describe it as feminine; I’d say it’s perfectly unisex. I consider it elegant and serious. It works well in summer in indoor spaces, such as the office. The downside is that it has somewhat poor longevity, which doesn’t match the price, given that it’s a fragrance for daily use. At this price, you can surely find something that stands out more, although it is an interesting representation of iris. I recommend it to brand fans; for those just getting to know Hermes, I think there are other options to introduce yourself to their perfumes.
