Maeva
Since I was a child, natural honeysuckle has been my favourite scent: exuberant, clean, sweet, green, fruity and incredibly revitalising. Beyond its relaxing and healing properties, I read that its genus, Lonicera, cleanses pollution and is used in European cities; curiously, it does the same for me, clearing my ’emotional impurities’ after the dark months of autumn and winter. Previously, Diorella gave me that injection of freshness, but now that it has passed into history, I take refuge in the Fraicheur Végétale by Chèvrefeuille, which smells more beautiful, fresh and comforting, with a honeysuckle accord that is greener and more realistic than the 2009 reformulation of Diorella (which became monotonous, linear, lacking green notes and very ‘soapy’, ironically in a Monsieur Dior collection). That disappointment also led me to use the Chèvrefeuille by A. Goutal more, which I also find exquisite. For an eau de cologne, it has good longevity (2-3 hours) and its honeysuckle note smells very natural, like that of the Mediterranean. It’s ideal for summer: it gives you the right dose of stimulating green freshness. I prefer this to other green fragrances with more ‘cachet’, and I don’t go through a summer without buying another bottle. It’s affordable and almost always on offer at Yves Rocher. I hope it doesn’t meet the same fate as its companion, Cèdre Bleu, which is now impossible to find…
