It is like a cup of hot, intense black chocolate: that is LAVENDER & WOOL by @lindalandenberg. I was caught off guard by its originality; lavender is the only floral note, yet it smells of flower, stem and leaf. It is fresh, green, with a fleeting touch of black pepper, leaving behind a very aromatic floral heart. In the middle, the chocolate remains, enhanced by patchouli’s earthy and woody tones, which blend perfectly with balsam fir to create a wonderful forest scent. Woods, leaves and earth in perfect balance; in fact, the peculiar colour comes from the fir oil. Then cardamomo enters, a spice that adds freshness and intense citrus nuances. As it dries, I notice something creamy, almost milky, like the milk you mix with chocolate that never disappears. Hours later, on the skin, the green notes dominate: aromatic and bitter sage joins white woods to become warm and soft, like a wool garment on the first days of autumn. It has been a great surprise, how it has come into my life and that I have nothing that smells like it.
