If you are lovers of magnolia, I think this perfume, floral, vibrant, slightly watery and fresh over a light woody base, could enchant you. It is a simple, linear scent that aims for nothing else, because sometimes less is more. The performance is similar to others in the line, quite good for the accord. Do not misunderstand me when I say it is “fresh”; it has quite a bit of body and presence. Personally, I wouldn’t buy it, but it seems pleasant and could suit many.
Spectacular if you like magnolia; I recommend it one hundred per cent. It has a brutal longevity for an EDT, a heavy trail that softens after two hours but is still very noticeable. Be careful not to apply too much, or it won’t last all day.
A relative brought it back for me from a trip, chosen after reading good reviews here and on YouTube. I was eager to like it; I was looking for a watery floral for the summer heat in Buenos Aires. What a terrible disappointment. On my skin, it smells like rotten magnolia, like a vase of fresh flowers left closed for 15 days with stagnant water. The note is bitter and sour, green but in a bad way, like a stinging moss, unharmonious and rotting organic matter. It wasn’t too bad on my mum, but it’s not beautiful either. My advice: test it on your skin before buying to avoid a fiasco.
Perhaps I’m wrong, but to my nose, it smells just like Mugler’s Alien at first. Both are very linear, though Alien feels more wearable. I get the impression this one is more suited to an older lady.
It is the first perfume I’ve bought by smelling it on someone else. A colleague wears it; she is twice my age but has an incredible personality. I always thought it was exquisite until I asked her what she was wearing and she said “the latest from Issey Miyake”, so I rushed to buy it. It doesn’t seem like the “older lady” scent people say it is; yes, it is mature, but very rebellious, fresh and original. I wear it at night despite its citrus and floral notes. It is truly a jewel, with great presence. I am fascinated by it ✨
It is the first perfume I have bought by smelling it on someone else. A colleague wears it, double my age but with an incredible personality. Whenever she wore it, I thought it was exquisite, until one day I asked what perfume it was and she said ‘the last one by Issey Miyake’; I ran to buy it! It does not seem anything like ‘old lady’ as they say around here; yes, it is mature, but very rebellious, fresh, and original. I feel it as a night scent, despite its citrus and floral notes. It is truly a jewel; it has great presence. I am fascinated by it.
What an exquisite perfume, fresh but with great personality; it has something of the original L’eau d’Issey but with a much more modern aroma thanks to that citrus note which combines excellently. It has fabulous longevity; as the hours pass, it becomes more delicate on the skin but is still felt immensely. It is a jewel for its longevity and projection. A unique, original fragrance, totally different from what is currently on the market.

I like it; it is a pleasant scent, not offensive or heavy. The flowers are felt; it is a distinct but not complex perfume; it feels very good from the start. Scent: 9/10, Longevity: 6/10. Should I recommend it? Of course, but buy it online as it is much cheaper. I buy mine on Jomashop, and in my country they cost triple.
Today I received my first compliment for this perfume, from a woman (which is no small thing). At first, it did not convince me; I received it as a gift with little faith because I felt it very soft and with little sillage, unlike the original from the collection. On my skin, it suits me better in winter than in summer, although it can be used all year; personally, it lasts longer in winter. Curiously, in summer the magnolia is very present, while in winter the wood prevails. On my skin, it lasts 10/12 hours and the sillage is strong and very present. Interesting performance.
It has surprised me; it is very pretty and subtle. I clearly perceive the magnolia, soothed by aquatic notes that give it freshness. I see it as appropriate for spring; it is not one of my favourites, but I will happily use up the sample. At some point, it reminds me of a Hugo in a canteen bottle I used, and Tommy Girl dry down, similar scents. Edit: I tried it in summer and oh, change! Now it is much more floral; I no longer recall Hugo or Tommy, and I like it more. It remains subtle, almost like a soft, fresh perfumed cream. Perhaps I will buy it. Later, someone gifted me a bottle, and although it is pretty and soft, there is a part that does not convince me to repurchase: I notice an alcohol that becomes increasingly annoying, like a classic baby fragrance.
I love it. I bought it blind based on the notes and profile. I wore it today and it suits me perfectly. I feel it fresh, luminous, citrusy, and watery. It is a pretty fragrance, for daily wear and any season. It is not invasive, but it makes itself felt with an ethereal touch that lingers delicately. On my skin, it behaves thus. It is an easy-to-wear scent, elegant and unobtrusive. It is not made to stand out, but to accompany and be a caress. I adore fresh fragrances with a powdery touch, so I know I will buy it again as long as I can find it.
I love it. I bought it blindly based on the notes and olfactive profile. I wore it today and it suits me very well. I feel it is fresh, luminous, citrusy and watery. It is a pretty fragrance, for daily wear, for any season. It is not invasive, but it is noticeable with an ethereal touch that finally remains delicately on the skin. At least that is how it behaves on me. It is a very easy-to-wear scent, elegant, not showy. Naturally, it is not designed to stand out, but to accompany and be a caress. I adore fresh fragrances with a powdery touch, so honestly, I know I will buy it again as long as I can find it.
It smells of fresh flowers; it reminds me a lot of those ‘chinitas’, but beyond that, I feel it is the perfect perfume for a bride or bridesmaid. It does not last long on my skin; you have to reapply. For the price, I find it a bit expensive as it will last only 2 or 3 hours if forced. However, blind bought it is safe if you like flowers, aquatic, and fresh scents.
I tried it at 20 degrees with a work colleague. It is a simple, summer daytime perfume, pleasant. Perhaps it has more eau de cologne behaviour, which would make the price less convenient. It suits any age and requires nothing more than personal experience.
If I had to define it in one word, it would be “Elegance”. It is a very pretty perfume, very floral with a watery touch that gives it that ethereal character of Japanese fragrances. It has very good longevity and trail, something primordial for me. Versatile yet special and characteristic. I think it would make a good signature scent.
If I had to define it in one word, it would be ‘Elegance’. It is a precious perfume, very floral with an aquatic touch that gives it that typical ethereal character of Japanese fragrances. It has excellent longevity and sillage, which is paramount for me. It is versatile yet special and distinctive. I believe it would make a good signature scent.
I tried it in-store, and upon application, that oily consistency screams quality. The opening is fresh, floral, and soft, like the transparency of a petal. I detect subtle aquatic nuances reminiscent of the original’s DNA, yet here there is no brash flower; it is a reserved, harmonious version. Luminous yet calming, the dry down connects with the bergamot, approaching a very refined baby powder scent, although it remains a cologne. I find it adorable, tender, elegant, and classy, yet relaxed and ethereal. For the price, I prefer Natura’s Esta Flor de Laranjeira EDT, which resembles it greatly, though they are not identical. If you smelled both, you would see that Natura is more citrusy and powdery, while L’eau d’Issey is aquatic floral (which I love). Either way, a beautiful olfactory experience; Issey Miyake always satisfies me.
I tried it today in a perfumery. I applied it to my skin. At first, you can feel the oily consistency that suggests it is a good perfume. That phase lasted several minutes. The dry down is fresh, floral, soft. It is like smelling the transparency of a flower petal. I feel very faint watery nuances that remind me of the DNA of the original. However, Eau & Magnolia does not have that loud, shrill floral part; on the contrary, it is its reserved and harmonious version. It is luminous but calming. In the dry down, it connects more with something of the Neroli Orange Blossom, which brings us closer to a very refined baby cologne, but a cologne nonetheless. I find it an adorable and tender fragrance. Elegant and classy but with a relaxed, ethereal tint. Given its value, I prefer to use the EDT from Natura Esta Flor de Laranjeira, which is quite similar, though one might not say they are identical. If I smelled both at the same time, I could recognise that the Natura one is more citrusy and neroli-like, whereas L’eau d’Issey Magnolia is a watery floral (which I love). Anyway, it seemed like a beautiful olfactory experience. Issey Miyake always brings me great satisfaction with their fragrances.
