Descripción
Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme Sport is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. Launched in 2014, this composition was created by Anne Flipo and Juliette Karagueuzoglou. The top notes unfold a vibrant freshness with lemon verbena, bergamot and aldehydes; the heart reveals an exotic touch of coriander alongside woods; while the base notes settle into the warmth of cedar and amber.

Delicious fragrance!
The opening is the most redeeming aspect of this L’Homme flanker. Quite an intense bergamot with a slightly sweet edge, non-pungent aldehydes, and a lovely lemon zest note. In the mid-stage, I only detected faint woody tones. The dry down features very soft cedar and amber. It’s a soft aromatic woody scent, clearly suited for summer or spring, interesting for the first two or three hours, with moderate to low projection and longevity over 12 hours on me, though it feels more like half that time close to the skin. I believe this flanker was unnecessary within the line, as it adds nothing substantial; it felt like adding another ‘sport’ to the mix. For fresher ‘sports’ or fragrances in this price range, I prefer the Dior Homme Sport and Cologne series, along with Allure Homme Sport Cologne. If you need a low-intrusiveness fragrance for summer, this could be an option, though it feels a bit pricey for what it offers, especially when similar or better options can be found for less.

For fresh fragrances at this price, I’d stick with Dior Homme Sport/Cologne or Allure Homme Sport Cologne. If you’re looking for something unobtrusive for summer, it might serve, though it’s expensive for what it offers and there are similar or better options for less.
Bad fragrance, very synthetic and generic; it smells like cheap cologne. I’d use it to kill bugs.
Smells like cheap, synthetic cologne, very generic. Not for me, nor for killing bugs.
To me, it’s the best of the sports: soft, huggable, and pleasant to smell.

Citrusy and aldehydic at first, pleasant but not natural; to me it smells like liquid detergent, which kills the interest. I agree with Prieth: YSL fails on creativity; this fragrance wasn’t needed if they hadn’t copied what they already have. I prefer their Pour Homme, which performs better and has more personality. It feels like YSL is retiring its classics and only releasing flankers. The dry down recalls the original L’Homme with soft cedar and amber. That’s all.
The opening is an explosion of delicious citrus and spring herbs; in the mid-stage it becomes more classic, a scent of cleanliness, and the dry down where ambroxan adds a sensual and cosy tone. It’s versatile and by no means heavy.

Smells very good; they let me try it, and although I opted for the Libre from the same house, I liked it a lot. It’s one of those I say are giftable to a friend.
Pleasantly surprised. I see it as a blend of Allure Sport without the sweetness of the dry down and Allure Cologne. Citrus with aldehydes that suited me very well, despite the fact that the latter usually don’t agree with me. The performance turned out to be much better than expected. The freshness lasts for a long time.
It pleasantly surprised me. I see it as a blend of Allure Homme Sport without the sweetness of the dry down and Allure Homme Cologne. The citrus with aldehydes worked wonderfully for me, despite aldehydes usually being difficult for me. The performance was much better than expected, and the freshness lasts for a long time.
A fresh and spicy fragrance, another countless flanker in this line. Sometimes I don’t understand why houses insist on producing an endless array of products riding on the fame of the original. Three or four would be enough. It seems a bit superfluous in this series, with a lifespan not up to the standard of the French house despite the quite pleasant citrus-aldehyde combination. Very synthetic, and in my case, I don’t notice anything outstanding that makes me applaud.
Very disappointed. I tried it twice on skin in different perfumeries. It has a citrus opening and a slightly floral, rich character. But by evening, it projects nothing, just faint woody tones. I don’t know, maybe my skin’s pH… but the Chanel Allure Sport I use for work is nicer and lasts longer. A very clichéd fragrance… Notes: 6/10. Longevity: 5/10. Projection: 5/10. Versatility: 7/10. Still, tastes are tastes, and every skin is different.
I love it; it doesn’t smell artificial, has plenty of notes, and I dislike none. It seems perfect to me because it’s long-lasting yet doesn’t have a huge sillage; this is an advantage because a fragrance with a large sillage can be aggressive even if it smells good. I can still smell it when I get home at night. It’s perfect for the office as it conveys energy; it’s informal yet I wear it with a suit without any issues. I love it; I’m nearly finishing my 100ml bottle. I love that it smells strong up close. I own many designer perfumes, but this is my favourite and I wear it all the time, even to sleep. Honestly, everyone loves it.

I’ve always been (and will remain) a purist when it comes to Yves Saint Laurent fragrances. But as I’m very versatile, there are exceptions like this. It’s one of the ones I like from the L’Homme line, even though I’m not a fan of what the brand sells nowadays. I bought it for being youthful and interesting, yet retaining part of the original with better longevity. In this flanker, cardamomo dominates with that citrus twist. It’s super versatile and delivers reliably. It’s discontinued, but I wouldn’t buy it again because it’s not a scent that drives me wild, plus the absurd prices on eBay for something that doesn’t last long. Longevity: 5-6 hours. Sillage: moderate, sometimes weak (depends on application).
A great perfume, no longer in production. It’s citrusy and spiced. Truthfully, I don’t think anyone would dislike it. Only the projection is a bit short. It’s ideal for enclosed spaces and summer climates, or above 20-25 degrees. It won’t be overpowering. I’d say it’s a fragrance to enjoy on its own. It was my first Yves Saint Laurent, and I have a strong affection for it. Nowadays, it’s not worth it unless you want something to enjoy for yourself.
A coherent flanker of its parent fragrance. In the dry down, both share that soft, woody touch. The development is quick: it begins with a burst of herbal lavender and bergamot, moves through the soapy phase of the aldehydes, then turns spicy and powdery, likely due to the coriander, before slowly settling into woods and amber. It’s a classic, fresh citrus scent for daytime, smells clean, and is sportier than L’Homme.
7.5/10 Worth it
