  1. L’Encens is fresh, dark and mystical; a very smoky woody and balsamic scent that evokes Christian liturgies, opening the soul with spirituality and the beauty of burning resins. It’s almost linear, except for the fresh, spicy top note from the pepper, while the rest is smoky, dark incense with a gothic vibe. Imagine woods and resins slowly burning in a golden incense burner set with stones, smoking from the altar of a gothic cathedral to elevate the congregation to the divine essence, leaving its mark on each centuries-old stone. It’s exquisite, I love it, and it’s unisex, but its performance is weak: it lasts about six hours, with the final notes being almost non-existent. The trail is very soft; moderate at first, but after half an hour it’s barely skin-scent, a shame because the perfume is so lovely, though perhaps a bit too fresh for what it should be. I see it as a night scent or for cold and temperate weather, but given its poor projection, it could work almost any day. I’ve adored it; the quality is evident, but the performance is poor for the price. However, if you like this style, it’s a good option: it’s one of the most affordable incense fragrances available today, and yet it’s not cheap.
