Descripción

London by Burberry is a floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2006, this composition was created by Dominique Ropion and Jean-Marc Chaillan. The top notes unfold with honeysuckle, tangerine orange, and rose; the heart reveals jasmine, tiare flower, peony, and clementine; while the base notes settle with musk, sandalwood, and patchouli.

Oops, I do not like having to say this, but I think London overdid it with its patchouli note. It is so intense that it crushes the others, although they are perceived. In my humble opinion, the patchouli ruins them and London becomes a difficult perfume to tolerate, because it boasts longevity and projection worthy of envy. After the patchouli, what managed to be smelled was a sweet orange and the tiara flower. I am not a fan of reformulations, but if they lower that dizzying patchouli in London, I would like to try it again.

  • I loved it! I am new to this blog… I bought it because I love the Burberry brand, but I did not have any perfume from the house. Having read the reviews here, I acquired it and feel it is my signature perfume. It is the first day I have used it. I hope I continue to think so.

I bought this fragrance online and it just arrived today. I was very anxious because I had seen very good reviews. The truth is I could not wait to try it. What can I tell you? It is a wonderful fragrance, different from what I usually wear. Its opening is beautiful, very floral; then it changes little by little and becomes warm and cosy, ideal for cold and rainy days. I think it is not suitable for hot days, but for the cold it is perfect, white floral, and I can perceive something citrusy on my skin. Excellent purchase, I feel satisfied. Every time I smell it, I like it more.

Very, very, very rich and very, very, very strong! Two characteristics that enchant me: its aroma and its potency. Lots of patchouli, but the good, the fine, the English kind. And a very well-balanced jasmine. It is a deep fragrance that leaves a trail, is perceived by the wearer, and embraces… cuddles, as we say in Argentina. The beginning of a new love.

I smell jasmine and honeysuckle; for me it is similar to Gucci Bloom on my skin. What do others think? It is a fine, elegant, extremely floral and feminine perfume, fresh and slightly sweet, but it is not for summer. I feel the honeysuckle lingers in all the notes; I also do not perceive an intrusive patchouli (that intrusive one is Mugler’s Angel). This is extremely white floral. Curiously, it lasts me a long time; if I apply it on clothes, it lasts until two washes, impressive. I do not smell it as youthful; it is sophisticated. My boyfriend says it smells like a lady, and obviously, I am THE LADY XD.

  • It is very floral, certainly, and starts with force, although in my opinion its performance fades. I do not smell much patchouli as some say, more honeysuckle and tiara. And the perfume it reminds me of very much is Avon Today, although I prefer the latter, which lasts me even longer. I have liked it, but I do not think I will repeat with it; I will stick with Today.

London is such a delicate, feminine, and clean perfume… it smells like expensive floral soap. It is jovial and cheerful, like an eight-year-old girl at an amusement park. Its feminine, cheerful, and floral scent reminds me of Johnson’s Little Girls’ cologne; only Little Girls has a vintage floral sweetness, whereas London has that soapy touch that makes it drier and more sophisticated. It smells like expensive and elegant perfume. Ideal for the office, school, university, informal outings with friends, or going to the cinema. Suitable for over 12 years old. Perfect for summer evenings, all of spring, and autumn mornings. A perfume I will definitely use again. Edit: for those who say it smells like the traditional Avon Today, it does not. They are nothing alike. I have both and there is no comparison. Projection: 7/10. Longevity: 7/10. Sillage: 7/10.

I love this perfume, although on my skin it is 100% honeysuckle, jasmine, and tangerine; practically the whole time I only smell those three notes, with no musk or tiara. It was not love at first sight; I had to get used to it as they are not my usual notes, but it has won me over. Moreover, it smells wonderful to others; they always notice it and give compliments. I recommend it: it smells elegant, sober, feminine, and beautiful.

  • My husband gave this to me, and it is definitely not my style. It is a very potent wave of white flowers: intense jasmine, peony, patchouli, and the warmth of musk. The combination irritates me, makes me dizzy, and upsets my stomach. The opening is intense, floral, and warm, with far too much power for me. If viewed with detachment, it smells like the perfume of a very elegant and classic lady. It is not for delicate noses. I am sorry, I cannot wear it. I will keep it, perhaps in the future I will be up to it for him.

  • This little gem is super delicate and elegant; it really comes alive on the skin with honeysuckle and jasmine, starting with a citrusy touch. Perfect for daytime, heading to work, or even formal events. The longevity and sillage are moderate, and I would definitely buy it again.

  • I was looking for something different from sweet gourmands. I always dismissed aquatic, green and talc-based scents. Burberry London was on my list, but I took my time buying it because I was into pastel perfumes and then I liked the coffee or chocolate ones. Until I said: it’s time to try the London. No regrets. I liked its citrus opening, it’s a sweet floral; I’m fascinated by the jasmine and patchouli, so I loved it even more. It lasted five or six hours on my skin. I wouldn’t hesitate to include it among my top five favourites.

  • I bought it blindly looking for rose notes. Upon spraying it, I thought: ‘it’s a classic scent’, it reminded me of childhood, when I was five years old and we visited houses that smelled the same. It is potent, has good fixation and leaves a trail, but I stopped using it because it makes me feel older.

  • It was a blind purchase and I have no regrets; this perfume is beautiful. It is elegant and feminine; on my skin the jasmine and bitter orange stand out. I love wearing it in autumn.

  • I bought it blindly, guided only by YouTube reviews, and I love it 🥰. It is rich, elegant and feminine. On me, the jasmine, bitter orange and musk stand out. I love wearing it in autumn.

  • At first the citrus notes are potent, the orange is very noticeable, but as it dries down it becomes sweet and soft, absolutely delicious. I wore it in summer and it can be a bit overwhelming; I recommend using it in cooler climates to enjoy it 100%. Two or three sprays are enough, it lasts seven hours on my skin and I would buy it again.

  • Beli Suárez

Disappointed. It is very long-lasting, but in my opinion it is for a woman over 60 years old.

  • I think it’s a beautiful fragrance, on the same wavelength as Givenchy’s Interdit, with that DNA that Dominiq Ropion puts into many of his creations. On my skin, the jasmine and orange blossom are very present, and I’m looking for some neroli that don’t appear on the list, perhaps they are just my imagination. It’s a fine and elegant perfume. I believe the trail is medium-high and I still haven’t been able to properly assess the longevity (I’m a living anxiety, hahaha).

  • At first, I hated it; it seemed very strong with that patchouli that invaded everything. But over time, as it dried down and the heart notes emerged, I started to like it. It became warmer, sweeter and more enveloping. I wear it for everyday use (I live in a very cold place) and the longevity is acceptable, around five hours where the musk, sandalwood and jasmine dominate. In general, with Burberry EDPs, the first impression is rarely the best; they are loves that are won through cohabitation, at least with Brit, Her, My Burberry and this London. The only one I’ve never liked is Burberry Body.

  • Alafi kisieko

I’ve worn this perfume for years and, although it has a sweet touch, there is one note that doesn’t quite convince me. It feels a bit overwhelming and heavy to me.

  • I’ve been searching for this fragrance for years and finally own it: it’s a white floral that evolves beautifully, nothing flat, with great development. I see it as timeless, suitable for all seasons and occasions. For now, I’ve tested it in summer and it works brilliantly; we’ll see how it behaves throughout the rest of the year. 30/3/2024, excellent for everything.

  • It took me a while to find my footing, but I began to appreciate it with use. The opening seems strange to me; I believe I am anosmic to the top note, only sensing a hint of plastic and alcohol. After 15 minutes, I notice patchouli and indeterminate florals with an orange accord that makes it interesting. Projection is good at first but drops quickly, leaving a soft patchouli bubble for about six hours. It’s not identical, but it recalls Coco Mademoiselle. It’s an all-rounder: perhaps heavy for scorching heat or very formal events, but suitable for everything else. Feminine and mature, though a bit loud; pleasant but didn’t convince me to buy it. Pleasant: 6/10, Interesting: 4/10, Versatile: 8/10, Original: 4/10.

  • I bought it blindly in an old perfumery among abandoned testers. The seller handed it to me with embarrassment, as if it were old and worthless, but it was a discontinued, very elegant fragrance that became my speciality. I felt a magnetic attraction to it, typical of those who fall for oranges/mandarins, captivated by its eternal and mature development. Its subtle, quiet bottle invites you to know it; it has a changing development that means I never quite understand it.

  • Floral and clean. What I notice most is jasmine, tiare, and peony with the sweet juice of ripe oranges and mandarins. As it dries, the musk cleanses it. Lasts about 4-5 hours.

  • Yadydecuba81

I am in love with this. It’s never missing from my collection. An aroma you’ll adore and will be noticed when you greet someone. Excellent price; I always find it on sale. Without a doubt, a great gift.

  • Lizilla Rojas

I bought the first intact version and compared it with one I tested weeks prior at duty-free; it’s different from mine. In another review, people requested a reformulation due to strong patchouli; I think they did reduce it. Its performance is similar to mine.

  • The perfect all-rounder for every season. A pleasant floral aroma that has earned me many compliments. I rescued it, and people find it elegant and clean. The trail lasts many hours and on clothes until the next day. I’ve been asked several times what I’m wearing. The bottle isn’t the best, but it has charm with the fabric wrap (I prefer transparent ones to see the level, that’s my quirk). If you have doubts in your collection, remember this one.

  • A soft, floral, expensive-smelling soap scent, just as an old review stated. It is exactly that, very pleasant. I’m seeking that note of cleanliness. It reminds me of Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle, which also features honeysuckle, but this one is more solar, like a luminous field; London is cooler, fitting its concept. For those seeking this aroma, it’s an excellent option as it’s not very common. It opens with a sweet orange note before giving way to a cold, clean breeze of honeysuckle. Ideal for enjoyment and any age. It maintains a pleasant sweet floral heart. A little gem.

  • A delicate delight featuring honeysuckle and subtle jasmine, like London in spring. I believe it used to last longer. I adore it for its year-round versatility. One of my favourites.

  • Burberry London is a modern, relaxed take on a white floral akin to Pure Poison. It’s feminine, with a soapy, creamy opening, a touch of wild florals, and a clean base of musk and velvety sandalwood. A good perfume with moderate to wide projection and a minimum six-hour longevity at a fair price. Apply it moderately to avoid nose fatigue. It’s a harmonious interpretation of a classic, almost vintage floral, ideal for those who love traditional scents. Elegant without pretension, very formal. It resembles Pure Poison but is more wearable—a daily Pure Poison. It suits lovers of the ‘old money’ aesthetic.

  • Very clean, fresh like an old-fashioned bath cologne. Perfect for summer, although don’t expect much longevity. The value for money is excellent.

  • I bought it blind looking for something for everyday wear that wouldn’t be overwhelming, and I couldn’t love it more: it’s clean, fresh, super feminine, and delicate. It’s a balanced white floral where jasmine is the protagonist, ideal for applying after a shower. It has no harshness, doesn’t bother, but it is noticeable. It has been a complete success. The sillage is moderate, perhaps a couple of hours, but it’s worth it for the price.

  • I admit it’s a good perfume, well-thought-out and layered. It’s not to my taste and I sold it, but I’m leaving the review in case you like this style. For those who wear oriental florals (patchouli and vanilla), this may feel light due to its citrusy base and cleansing musk, but if you prefer florals and citrus, it might feel heavy. When sprayed, it smells of jasmine and citrus, but soon the flowers and patchouli take centre stage, with the latter being somewhat invasive. With time, it leaves a full-bodied floral scent thanks to the patchouli, with a sweet citrus touch, like caramel. It has good sillage and excellent longevity.

  • Perla Vencis

A hidden gem and little-known treasure. If you’re not a fan of florals, you’ll love it: it’s cheerful and playful, mixing florals with fresh and citrus notes. It opens sweet and citrusy, then the jasmine and jasmine shine, accompanied by a shy neroli that pairs with the peony. Ideal for formal meetings lasting over 8 hours, yet also versatile. I use the 100ml bottle at home and the 30ml mini for travel. It suits any situation, day or night. It’s addictive, feminine, elegant, and has presence.

  • PauPauPon

It’s one of my favourites, although the opening seems too heavy; with time, however, I love the floral scent that remains. It’s versatile for day or special occasions, but personally I reserve it for autumn and winter.

  • Salomé Hernández

It’s very special, elegant, and subtle. While many seek impactful perfumes to be praised, this one is personal: soft and clean, yet it generates a ‘you smell lovely’ reaction when greeting without being overwhelming. It smells of white flowers and natural tangerines. Yes, I always recommend trying it before buying.

  • I bought it with high expectations and was disappointed; I bought it blind as there was nowhere to test it, and it smells stale. In fact, I’ve already returned it to Notino as I believe it’s spoiled.

  • What a beautiful perfume! Pink jasmine and musk dominate, an aroma that sounded familiar even before I knew it. It’s the Baccarat Rouge of another decade 😂. It projects excellent cleanliness and femininity. I’d rate the longevity at 8-12 hours.

  • J`adoreunbonparfum

It’s fresh yet subtle, a personal scent that doesn’t repeat itself. The bottle and its cap feel a bit cheap, certainly not the luxury one might expect for a hundred euros, but the perfume itself is rich and I like it.

  • Starts with a soft, almost invisible tangerine, before the rose, peony, and jasmine blossom with elegant femininity and a powdery touch. The serene jasmine completes the scene as creamy sandalwood and clean musk blend with the skin, adding depth to the patchouli. It’s a romantic, nostalgic classic, like walking through London in the rain: flowers, mist, and warm wood on the skin.
