It’s a dense oud (or tobacco?), not really my thing, and the opening overwhelmed me, but by half an hour it sounded noble. I can’t distinguish the notes due to lack of experience, but I’m hooked. At 24, I find it tricky to wear in cold or fresh weather as it projects an image of someone much more mature; it’s not a mossy old man like Quorum, but it has a masculine bearing. It’s not too heavy, with a fresh touch that doesn’t feel stifling at 24 degrees. I see it for special occasions, elegant and slightly dirty. In the end, I didn’t like it at first: the oud (or tobacco?) smells heavy, unpleasant, almost foul, having barely sampled it before buying. Okay, on skin it smelled better, it seems it needs to develop with time, at least I don’t regret buying it blind, haha. EDIT: Over time, it’s become my favourite. The scent has softened to be very pleasant, the foul opening is gone. It’s dark, mysterious, with woods, something sweet and fresh. Yes, it’s for adults and very elegant. It’s not versatile; it requires a purpose. Of all the Arabic fragrances I own, this is the one that has oxidised the best.
I’m not sure if it resembles Amouage Jubilation XXV Man, but not as much as Oud for Greatness. I expected something more potent with a more challenging oud given the name, but it’s much kinder thanks to the saffron, tobacco and cedar (with a strong oud, of course). It says unisex, but it smells very masculine. I see it for a proper gentleman, someone secure, kind but with personality so no one can walk all over him. Although it wasn’t what I expected, it’s an excellent fragrance.
