I tried the original months ago and it didn’t repel me; it smells like those sweet shop treats, but with the Intense I thought, ‘why not?’ The truth is, it didn’t deliver. It left its mother’s style behind and veered towards the oriental side. It’s sweet, woody, and spiced (not bad), lasts well, but it smells so much like Bogart OMS Oud that I sold it. It works in cold or temperate weather; although it doesn’t list oud wood on the pyramid, it smells exactly like that, the oud in its best form. Scent 8, Longevity 8, Projection 8, Price 10.

A few months prior, I tried the original Obsessed, which didn’t displease me but smelled of many sweet aromatic notes found elsewhere. With this Intense version, I thought: why not? The truth is, it didn’t meet my expectations as it abandoned the original concept and veered towards the oriental side, offering something sweet, woody, and spiced (I’m not saying it’s bad; it’s good and long-lasting); however, it resembles the Bogart OMS Oud Edition so much that I ended up selling it. It works well in cold to temperate climates; although it doesn’t appear in the pyramid, it smells exactly like Oud in its finest expression. Scent 8, Longevity 8, Projection 8, Price 10.

  • An excellent and delightful surprise from CK. A mysterious and dark fragrance perfect for Autumn and Winter. I agree with William Aguirre: it smells of Oud, but an earthy, dark one, far from the typical rose-oud combo. I think it will accompany me through many nights.

  • A rather novel fragrance compared to what we’re used to. It boasts a powerful trail and excellent performance throughout the day. At times, the vanilla blends with woody notes, making it incredibly attractive; I’ve been told twice (after three or four hours) that it smells like incense, which was a pleasant surprise—I certainly don’t want to smell like a shrine. It’s potent and attention-grabbing. I wouldn’t wear it for dancing or in polluted environments, but it’s perfect for a romantic evening date. The bottle is minimalist, simple, eye-catching, and elegant; black always adds an air of intrigue. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone under 25.

  • This is quite a new scent compared to what we are used to… powerful sillage and excellent performance all the way. Sometimes vanilla and wood notes make it attractive; I have already been told twice (after 3 or 4 hours) that it smells like incense, which was a surprise, as the last thing I want is to smell like a shrine. It is potent and attention-grabbing; I would not wear it to dance or in crowded places, but rather for a night out or a romantic date… and what we all know can happen. The bottle is minimalist, simple, striking, and elegant, creating intrigue when seen; the blacks always give that impression. I would not recommend it for anyone under 25.

  • A very nice proposal from this house: sweet but not overbearing, with some incense and a soft talcy finish. IMO.

I’m not a fan of CK, but I have to admit Obsessed for Men Intense is an excellent, pleasant, and seductive proposal with real intensity, something rare from designers in recent years. Finally, a perfume that satisfies in scent, longevity, and potency. It’s curious how everyone smells it differently; I detect a prominent incense blending with vanilla and amber to create a mysterious, nocturnal aroma. Ideal for the coldest nights. I was doubly surprised that the woody notes bring to mind Black Afgano. Let’s see if the house gets its act together.

To me, this fragrance is musk, talc, and a touch of sweet violet. At times, it brings back memories of Narciso Rodriguez and Patchouli Blanc de Reminiscence. I tested it for a week with a sample, and that impression is constant. I consider it unisex, not very versatile, but with a longevity far above the norm for the brand. Unfortunately, it’s now discontinued. Au revoir. EDIT: in the dry-down phase, it reminds me of Alyssa Ashley’s Oud pour Elle.

  • Calvin Klein proves that good things can be made; nothing like those Gatorade-style air fresheners from Defy. It smells almost identical to Orto Parisi’s Terroni, but here you actually pay for quality, price, and volume. Why spend $200 on tiny 50ml bottles when 100-150 on the CK (now discontinued) gets you 125ml with similar performance? I disagree with those who say it smells like OMS Oud Edition; not even close, that one reeks of decrepitude and torture.

  • CK shows they know how to do things properly, moving away from their air-freshener-style releases. It smells almost identical to Orto Parisi’s terroni, but you’re paying for real quality and volume. Why spend $200 on 50ml when you can get 125ml here for half the price, especially since it’s discontinued? Forget anyone claiming it smells like OMS Oud Edition; that one reeks of decrepitude and torture.

  • Just when I vowed never to buy another perfume, I stumbled upon my holy grail in the most unlikely place: a gift shop in the city centre. They didn’t accept cards, so I had to leave my watch as security and rush to the till. Every second of that hassle was worth it. It’s my second CK jewel after Euphoria Amber Gold; a scent of nocturnal mystery that screams conquest. Smoky amber, sweet with a herbal note that becomes apparent as you walk. Exquisite for crisp nights and winter, sensual and sexy. Totally different from Bogart’s Oud (that one smells like 18th-century torture). Highly recommended.

  • Just when I’d sworn off buying more perfumes, I stumbled upon my holy grail in the most unlikely place: a gift shop in the city centre. They didn’t accept cards, so I had to leave my watch as collateral and rush to the cashier. Every second of that ordeal was worth it. It’s my second CK gem after Euphoria Amber Gold; a scent of nocturnal mystery that screams conquest. Ambered incense, sweet, with a herbal note that becomes apparent as you walk. Exquisite for crisp nights and winter, sensual and sexy. Totally different from Bogart’s Oud (that one smells like 18th-century torture). Highly recommended.
