Brutal opening, nothing floral at first, just sweet and exotic fruity notes. Once it dries down, the florals emerge. In my opinion, it’s unisex. Projection is good for the first hour, then it becomes a personal bubble, though it’s winter in Madrid with dry cold. The top notes fade quickly, but longevity is around 8 hours, maybe 10 if you’re lucky. After the first hour, it lingers softly for another 3 hours, then just skin scent with occasional bursts. It would surely perform better in summer near the sea. The scent is excellent, longevity is decent but better in its ideal climate. The issue is that at €185 it’s too expensive; for €150 you could get Erba Pura, which surely lasts longer than these 100ml. Comporta, Muda and Dona Bia have given me better performance; Dona Bia lasts forever but smells difficult. Muda is the one worth it most. If Ocaso cost €120 it would be tight, but it’s subjective. I picked it up for €70 at Carambola and it’s a bargain. €100 is brilliant, €120/125 is acceptable. Edit: Tested during this unusual spring heat in Madrid, the longevity is fantastic. I applied it at 9am and at 5pm it’s still detectable with effort in a personal bubble; it will easily last 12 hours, more on skin and several days on clothes. Ocaso is a unisex floral (though labelled feminine, what nonsense). It smells of very realistic jasmine with fresh, luminous touches, coastal style (not sunscreen). It reminds me of a walk near the coast at sunset, with orange and blue tones, a fresh breeze after the heat dragging flowers, especially jasmine. Leaving aside the infatuation, the performance is sufficient but just on the edge, around 5-6 hours on skin, more on clothes. Projection is moderate, acceptable. It delivers, perhaps not a 10/10 but certainly a 7/10. But the scent is so natural, evocative and relaxing that it’s hard not to give in. If you like florals that evoke real nature, give it a try.
