Descripción
Olympéa Aqua by Rabanne is a floral aquatic fragrance for women. Launched in 2016, this composition was created by Fanny Bal, Anne Flipo, Dominique Ropion and Loc Dong. The top notes reveal a marine freshness with Calabrian bergamot, orange, petit grain and grapefruit. The heart unfolds a vibrant floral bouquet of ginger flower, orange blossom, jasmine, peach and rose. The base settles on a warm and persistent accord of sea salt, vanilla, ambergris, cashmere wood, sandalwood and benzoin.

I love this new version of Olympea: fresh, aquatic, versatile, youthful and with good fixation. As soon as you spray it on your skin, you feel it quickly as a very revitalising fragrance, nothing cloying, very suitable for climates or times of year where we don’t need overpowering scents but rather refreshing ones. Once settled on the skin, it leaves a very pleasant essence like white flowers, cotton and the sea… those are the elements it evokes for me. Definitely an excellent option for the summer and spring seasons!
I’m obsessed with this new Olympea: fresh, aquatic, versatile and youthful, with good longevity. As soon as you wear it, it gives you a burst of energy, nothing cloying, ideal for hot climates where you want to refresh, not suffocate. Once it settles, it smells of white flowers, cotton and the sea, exactly what it evokes for me. A top option for summer and spring!
Lovely fragrance from Paco. It reminds me a lot of Givenchy’s Amarige, but softer. On my skin, it lasts for ages, which doesn’t usually happen with fresh scents; well, only with DKNY’s Be Delicious. Highly recommended. Subtle and fresh without being childish.
It’s the same traditional Olympea but a summer version: fresher, less sweet, but with the same longevity.
It’s finally in my hands! It’s as beautiful as Olympea, but Aqua is lighter and fresher, more summery. It has great longevity, just like Olympea, and I love both. On my skin, it smells of white flowers with a touch of vanilla. I own both versions and they feel different: Olympea is sweeter and Olympea Aqua is fresher. I love both! Perfect for spring-summer. I highly recommend it.

At first I was doubtful as I’m not a fan of the original, but it was a Christmas present and I gave it a chance. It silenced my doubts; I was surprised, not expecting such a different scent in my collection. I love it because, although I usually adore gourmands, this one is salty… yes, salty and aquatic, and that’s what I like most. I would never have bought it myself, but I’m happy to have it and I love wearing it. It works for day and night; after a few hours it becomes sweeter, but the salt notes create a wonderful contrast. Although it’s lighter than the original, the quality is evident, it lasts for ages on the skin, and I consider it for women aged 25 and above. It’s a scent that reminds me of the sea breeze on the skin, yet elegant and sophisticated.

Of all the Olympea fragrances I’ve tried, Olympea Aqua takes the crown. It smells just like the original but fresher, more ethereal and soft. I think the selection of notes is a stroke of genius: the ambergris and sea salt make it unique, the ginger adds a kick, while the vanilla and mandarin bring sweetness and versatility. It’s like a mischievous little girl playfully leaping over the clouds of Olympus. Its longevity and trail are impeccable, just like the other versions. Paco Rabanne makes me want more from their collection. ♡Scent: 10/10 ♡Trail: 9/10 ♡Longevity: 8.5/10
In my opinion, it is an improved version of the original Olympea
Olympea Aqua is the same Olympea scent but diluted with aquatic notes, a bit less strong and designed so that Olympea can be worn in spring and summer, but nothing more. It does not convince me; for the same scent but diluted, I prefer the original and buy less.
Olympea Aqua is basically the same scent as the original perfume, just with aquatic notes that make it slightly less potent and suited for spring and summer, but nothing more. I’m not convinced; for the same scent but softer, I prefer the original and simply use less.
I agree with the previous review that indicates it’s a ‘downgraded’ version of the original Olympea for summer wear, and precisely for that reason I like it. The original seems like a wearable perfume for everyday life, but I don’t feel like wearing it in summer; this one, however, with its citrus top notes, invites you to wear it more in the heat. The scent that remains after the first few minutes is exactly the same as Olympea but softened. The longevity is the same. Note that I’m talking about the 2016 Aqua, not this year’s version.
I agree with the previous review: it is a ‘downgraded’ version of the original Olympea to wear in summer, and that is why I like it. The original is wearable for daily life but I don’t feel like wearing it in summer; this one, with its citrus opening, invites more to be worn in the heat. The scent after the first minutes is the same as Olympea but softened. The longevity is the same. Note, I am talking about the 2016 Aqua, not this year’s version 😉
I had the original which I finished very quickly and now I decide whether to buy this or the Intense. I don’t know what the Intense smells like, but at least I know what this is. The smell of the Aqua is persistent and striking; it is not a typical ‘normal’ perfume, it is different and there is no other that smells the same. I give it 10/10 to this and the original; I just need to smell the Intense to decide my next purchase.
The only Olympea I like. It has incredible longevity.
Fresh and aquatic, with a sweet touch reminiscent of the great original, Olympea. I love it and so does everyone who smells it on me. It’s super feminine, suitable for all ages. For me, perfumes have no age or season if used with moderation; in summer, with La Nuit Tresor, I spray into the air and walk through the mist to avoid being overpowering. If you like the original, you’ll like this too, but it’s much more wearable because it’s more aquatic. Excellent for summer. Best regards from Mendoza, Argentina.
Fresh, aquatic, with a sweet touch and the essence of its older sister, the great Olympea. I love it and anyone who smells it too. It is super feminine, for all ages. For me, perfumes have no age or season if used with moderation (in summer, if you use La Nuit Tresor, spray into the air and pass through the mist to leave a trail ► said by the Perfume Academy). If you like the original Olympea, you will like this too. It is more wearable because it is more aquatic. Excellent option for summer. Greetings from the wonderful Mendoza, Argentina
To be honest, I don’t know why I keep testing perfumes from this house! As soon as I put it on my wrist, I wanted to rip it off. It smells terrible. The worst part is that everyone on the street smells the same. Definitely Paco Rabanne doesn’t make perfumes for me, and let’s not even talk about the men’s ones, one is worse than the other.
THE TRUTH, WHY DO I KEEP TRYING PERFUMES FROM THIS HOUSE? As soon as I put it on my wrist, I wanted to rip my arm off. Horrible perfume. The worst part is that everyone smells the same on the street. Definitely Paco Rabanne does not make perfumes to my taste, and not even the men’s ones, one worse than the other.
I had the version with the frosted bottle and it is pure cleanliness. That scent makes me happy, puts me in a good mood, I simply love it. What a pity they reformulated it and it is no longer as potent.
I tried it yesterday for the first time. The opening is juicy, with that sweet-salty play of the line, lots of mandarin, as if you were peeling the zest. Strange that it isn’t listed! Probably bergamot and orange. There was an acidic counterpoint, like caramel or candied peel. Minutes later, it becomes very sweet, too much for my taste, unlike the classic Olympea. Twenty hours later, in the cardboard, the base notes are neroli talc, benzoin and salt, with something fruity and creamy that could be ambroxan. I prefer this floral, less sweet finish. It is complex, with good longevity and projection. I don’t understand why they called it ‘Aqua’ instead of something reflecting the dose of orange citrus it has.
Perfection! The opening has a sharp acidic touch, but then Olympea arrives, that scent I already knew. Finally, the musk and salt finish exquisitely, exactly what I was looking for. I love it more than the original; it deserves every euro you spend <3
The summer version of Olympea. Fresher and more versatile. It retains the DNA of the original but combined with citrus and aquatic notes. If you like the classic Olympea but find it too strong to wear in summer, try this flanker.
My girlfriend likes fruity floral scents, feminine and youthful ones; within that olfactory family, she enjoys white flowers (orange blossom and jasmine in particular). As she had her birthday, I went to the perfumery and did a tasting of the Olympea versions, and I liked this one. I knew she doesn’t like very sweet ones, and this was fresher than the others. Result: she loved it, I loved it, and her family asked what I was wearing. Part of the perfumer team (Flipo, Ropion, Dong) also created aquatic florals such as Armani’s Acqua di Gioia, which I also gifted her and she liked, though not as much as this Olympéa Aqua, which also lasts her much longer (it is eau de parfum légère) and I see it as more refined and versatile (I see the Armani as more summery). They achieve very harmonious, balanced, pleasant, and elegant fragrances. It is also interesting, I believe, that the perfume includes something original, and here I saw they include ginger flower, which is not very common. As for seasons, I think it admits all of them, with better performance during the day. With vanilla and benzoin in addition to orange blossom, such harmony creates great versatility and also a relaxing wellbeing effect. It is very pleasant for personal enjoyment and for others; you won’t go unnoticed but without being strident, with much delicacy and freshness.
My goodness! I don’t know what magical ingredient it has, but it puts me in a very good mood; I simply feel happy when I wear it. It has been difficult to get the 2015 version as the current one has changed and I don’t like it entirely. My favourite perfume from Paco Rabanne.
The opening is a burst of citrus, jasmine, and lots of sea water (it has plenty of salt and feels aquatic). After a few minutes, the protagonist is neroli, with a citrus touch, supported by salt and a very soft jasmine. There is a light ginger that unites the florals with a base of ambergris, very calm vanilla, and a brushstroke of cashmere, which make the perfume very sensual. It is linear, soft, sensual, and fresh, with short longevity (hopefully 4 hours), but incredible for summer. In my opinion, it beats the Olympéa Aqua EDP hands down in terms of scent. The sad thing is that it is discontinued 🙁
What a brilliant flanker! It’s worlds away from my favourite Olympea, which is the original I adore. This is their summer version at its finest. It’s a citrus Olympea that keeps the DNA of the first intact. Very wearable, with an acceptable trail given its citrus nature. I get a flood of compliments when I wear it. I recommend wetting your neck or showering before applying it; it lasts much longer and the citrus notes are activated superbly. If you enjoy the original, this is a very accurate blind buy.
Again, the grapefruit note overpowers everything on my skin. There’s something sweet hidden away, but it doesn’t stand out in the opening, which is almost bitter. Then it does become a bit sweet, like the original, and stops being so unisex, but it remains very fresh. Not for me.
It happens to me again: the grapefruit note leaves me blank and drowns out everything else. At first it smells bitter, although later it becomes a bit sweet like Olympea and loses that very unisex vibe, but I still don’t see it in me.
The most comfortable, easy and fresh version of the whole line 🤩 It makes you happy to wear it.
Not what I expected. It just smells very salty, almost metallic. It seemed to smell the same on my clothes and then on my skin. I sense that hint of the classic Olympea, but the metallic salty note is constant. I thought the aquatic aspect would be more enveloping with the classic DNA in the heart. I’ll try it in winter and give it another chance in spring.
Delicious! Balanced, soft, citrusy and sweet, with the original’s DNA clearly present.
Peach, vanilla and salt: Opens with citrus and green notes, super fresh and youthful, lighter than the original. Then the aquatic note blends with geranium and orange blossom, keeping the vanilla-salt DNA but much more transparent. Finally, juicy peach with creamy white flowers, elegant and neat. It conveys perfect summer freshness for everyday wear in the heat. 9/10: rich, elegant and very enjoyable, though different from the original, it retains that salty essence in a creamy version.
