Descripción

Olympéa by Rabanne is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2015, this composition was created by Loc Dong, Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion. In its opening, the scent unfolds with water jasmine, green mandarin and ginger flower; the heart reveals a combination of vanilla and sea salt; while the base settles on cashmere wood, ambergris and sandalwood.

I bought it for the notes and blindly, despite doubting the salty aspect, and it’s precisely that note that sticks to my nose. Indeed, it’s a scent that causes headaches, has a great trail and lasts a very long time. It has the same aroma when applied as when it dries; it doesn’t evolve and I think that’s what tires you out; it feels very heavy and I can’t distinguish the notes neither at the top nor at the base. I’ve tried giving it many opportunities, but I think I’ll have to give it away.

  • To me, Olympéa is a beautiful young oracle who guards a Greek temple surrounded by the crystal waters of the Aegean Sea. She wears a short linen chiton and carries a gold diadem of laurel leaves, barefoot strolling through the temple gardens, perfumed with this fragrance. That is what it conveys to me every time I smell or wear it; I feel happy, as if I need it when I’m lacking. It’s the perfume I’d choose if I had to keep just one (I also love the Legend). It makes you feel like a goddess. No need to talk about performance, but it has a fixation of over eight hours on skin and a trail that goes from heavy to moderate depending on the sprays. It’s a perfume of great quality, combining sensuality and tenderness. The best in the world, in my opinion.

  • I don’t recommend buying it blindly. The salt note is very strong and isn’t for everyone or every occasion. I feel it doesn’t go unnoticed; it’s risky. But it has a very good trail and longevity. I wear it at night or when I need something that lasts.

  • I first met Olympéa Blossom, which I love madly, so I imagined that this, being the first in the line, would be magnificent and unparalleled. Well no, what a disappointment. Nothing stands out in it; it’s not unique. Let alone the longevity. I think it can be worn without issue, but it’s just another one in the crowd.

I never imagined giving it a place in my collection, but tastes do change. It’s a sweet and salty-marine vanilla, accompanied by jasmine. A welcome addition to create moments and memories with you.

  • I have contradictory feelings about Olympéa. The opening doesn’t suit me: it’s salty and a mix of ginger with vanilla, a bit of a mess. After an hour and a half, it becomes softer, sweeter, and floral, which is when I like it, along with its longevity. The question is whether it’s worth waiting hours for it to feel right.

  • solsegovia

I owned it and loved it; I’d choose it again without a doubt. It made me feel wonderful every time I wore it.

  • Playas1010

It has notes I like, such as vanilla, and the woody part doesn’t feel as salty. I bought it in decants and would buy it again if it were subtle enough for daily wear.

  • It’s not a bad fragrance, but I don’t understand how others put up with it. I can’t tolerate it because of that marked saltiness and its trail, which is far too invasive.

  • It was always my signature scent at school, but my opinion has changed over the years. On my skin, it smells clean, salty, and of jasmine, yet it no longer surprises me; I feel it lacks something. I’ve created many memories with it, both good and bad, but I’m tired of it and won’t be renewing my bottle. Although I discovered it thanks to dupes in clothing stores, I’d stick with those; I believe they have more personality.

  • I love it; I feel very feminine with this perfume. In general, I like many of Paco Rabanne’s scents and this particular one I’ve bought three times; I think it’s the one that identifies with me the most. For me it’s super sweet, but not too cloying. I really love it.

  • Although not declared, on my skin it smells of very marked coconut. It’s quite sweet and potent, but without being overpowering. It’s a perfume I wear only on my skin and it has such potency that it permeates my clothes. I always use it in cool weather and enjoy it.

  • Olympea is an elegant white floral; I love it. In my experience, jasmine, vanilla and amber predominate, giving it a powdery and sober touch; perhaps the ginger adds freshness and a slight kick. I don’t perceive the feared salty note, because on me it develops into a sweaty smell. It settles into a very pleasant powdery finish. It resembles others, I suppose it has been imitated. In Mexico, a decent approximation is Diamant de Zermat, a national brand that is a beauty at $30. In Olympea, nuances stand out, but Diamant doesn’t diminish anything. The packaging is beautiful; I’m happy to have the first version (unreformulated) for around $50; the first thing I noticed was that the liquid is dark amber, almost identical to the current Legend. It lasts seven hours with moderate projection; it’s not overwhelming but enveloping, which I like. It’s great in rainy weather. Who will like it: lovers of versatile florals.

I always walked past it in the shop until I read the reviews and decided to smell it. It’s super salty, but has a creamy and vanilla nuance; on my skin I barely notice the white flowers. I find it sensual and attractive; I’ve really liked it. Perfect for summer. I see a certain resemblance to Gaultier Divine, which I already own and don’t want to duplicate. It could be a future purchase.

  • Scent: 9. Longevity: 4 (4 hours on skin). Sillage: soft for 1 hour. Requires reapplication. Price: could be cheaper. Packaging: 9.

I always had a bad impression of this perfume, thinking it would be something vintage and poor, what a pleasant surprise. It’s a very wearable and lovely scent, definitely a white floral due to the water jasmine, but creamy thanks to the vanilla. The salt ties it all together, giving it character without losing its softness. It’s an all-rounder, a lovely gift, and a good blind buy.

  • April_ethereal

This perfume leaves a terrible marine note on my skin and I hate marine notes. I would never buy it.

  • The first time I wore Olympéa, I felt I had a magnificent perfume in my hands. A singular complexity where the notes aren’t perceived separately, a perfect aromatic synthesis. Half an hour later, oh surprise!, it loses that majesty and on my skin it smells like Pure XS: rich, with that warm caramelised sweetness, but without that initial grandeur. Farewell to that complexity that made it THE PERFUME. Applause, but I stick with Pure XS; being abandoned by that sublime perception disappoints me.

  • I love it. I tested it in a discovery kit alongside Lady Million (which I didn’t like) and Olympea shone brilliantly. I don’t detect any marine or salty notes, but rather something sweet without being cloying, unlike other vanillas. It’s one of my favourites. It doesn’t last long (I can’t smell it at night), but it’s worth reapplying.

  • Chocolate con licor

I detect too much wood and the jasmine only intensifies it. The vanilla doesn’t reduce the bitter intensity but makes it heavier. It smells like other much cheaper perfumes, such as Isadora’s Nix. It’s not rich for me, nor is it annoying; it smells like a sober office woman. The price doesn’t seem appropriate.

  • I used it for a long time until the social media boom made everyone wear it and it became uncomfortable for me. It’s sweet, delicate and elegant, perfect. It lasts on skin hour after hour.

  • I bought it blind because I love its sibling Olympea Legend. At first it smelled delicious, but I didn’t love it. It has a marked salty note, which suits my skin well, but it’s a super strong perfume, even for someone who wears a lot of fragrance. It cloyed me a bit. It’s not youthful; it’s more dignified. I’ll give it more chances.

  • Jess Jiménez

It awakens equal parts hatred and admiration. It’s unique, spectacular and the only one people have praised me for. Salty, spicy and powerful, yet not cloying. Sea salt, ginger and sandalwood with jasmine dominate. It’s enveloping, elegant and enigmatic for cool nights. It stands out on skin and clothes, lasting over six hours on skin and days on clothes. I bought it blind and have no regrets, although I recommend trying it first.

  • madeinfrance

At first I detected lots of ginger and mandarin, but later it smells like talc and powder, very clean and light. It’s not as powerful as they say, lasting about four hours, and I can’t find the vanilla. The salt gives it a soft distinctive note. I wouldn’t buy it again, although the scent is original.

  • Padmefragrance

At first I thought it was strong due to the citrus and salt, but now I notice more of the wood and vanilla. It’s elegant, feminine and I recommend it.

  • Mayitaperfums

The scent was too intense for me and gave me a headache; I couldn’t finish the bottle. It has vanilla, wood and sea salt, so I’d recommend it for cold weather.

  • I bought it blind and loved it. It smells elegant, sweet, salty and woody with a citrus note at the bottom. I don’t detect the vanilla, but it’s a great purchase at a good price for autumn, winter and spring nights.

  • Ara Betancourt

Smells absolutely delicious and is super elegant, with jasmine, vanilla and sea salt making it perfect. It lasts forever and has incredible projection.

  • Albaloulou

Zero class; it smells generic and cheap, like something you’d buy in a shop for two euros. It’s sweet but lacks any elegance whatsoever, so it doesn’t convince me at all.

  • florenciaprossi

I don’t understand the hype. I feel there are better summer perfumes. I have it because it was a gift; I wouldn’t have bought it myself. It doesn’t project much and doesn’t last; you have to be very close to perceive it. Nothing notable.

  • I’m not sure if it’s a matter of my skin, but the opening of this perfume felt very strong and even overwhelming, unsuitable for winter nights. Later, it feels nicer, more vanilla and woody, yet I feel this fragrance has too many dupes. I wouldn’t buy it.

  • Brenda95gg

People who say it doesn’t last well, etc. It’s clear you haven’t tried previous versions and that it has been thoroughly reformulated.

  • After believing my perfumes had to be sweet, this arrived as a gift. I loved it… the scent is long-lasting and its trail is exceptional. For me, the scent isn’t vanilla; it’s more of a woody floral. I live in a cold climate, and the scent is perfect.

  • No, a thousand times no. Please stop wearing this perfume at 7.30 am. For heaven’s sake, what poor taste to wear something so sweet in the morning or on hot days. There is nothing wrong with the fragrance itself, except that it is mass-produced, duped, and people don’t know how to wear it.

  • geomeun.apyeon

Ahh, how I long to smell the original scent from those years of this fragrance. They have reformulated it now 😪 I don’t know how many times. It still has the Olympea scent, but something has changed. I wouldn’t buy it because it has become so mass-produced, but years ago it was one of my favourites. I stick with Olympea Aqua, which has a stronger trail, and Olympea Solar ♡.♡

  • I love it, one of my favourite perfumes. I adore the combination of vanilla and salt. However, I wouldn’t recommend wearing it in summer.

  • A savoury dessert. It begins with a subtle yet present spiced citrus note of tangerine and ginger, setting the stage for what truly takes command: vanilla with salt. This accord smells like a modern dessert, sweet and salty at once, pleasant without being cloying. The evolution shows how that salty vanilla softens and becomes more enveloping, transforming into a creamy texture. The cashmere and sandalwood base adds warmth and neutrality, notes found in both men’s and women’s fragrances, reinforcing its unisex character. The emotion it conveys is sophistication: a contemporary fragrance suitable for any age, ideal for dates, special occasions, and cooler climates. It doesn’t feel rigidly feminine or masculine, but rather an olfactory pleasure to be enjoyed in a couple. My rating: 9/10. A fragrance that turns salty vanilla into a modern symbol of sensuality and a bridge between the feminine and the neo-masculine.

  • So inelegant, so garish, so rustic, and it gives me a migraine. It dominates the other perfumes in the room with a shameful audacity, bullying them like a schoolyard thug. Its mere existence infuriates me.
